Pros +

  • Good location outside of the city. Good Restaurant and bit expensive. Parking available at no extra cost.
  • The little finishing touches like a candle in the room The crockery and Fabulous granola
  • Very peaceful location, quiet (room at the back) and nice views. Comfortable rooms. Very good food.

Cons -

  • Room small. Restaurant a bit expensive for the level.
  • Very very over priced. It’s not a hotel, it’s essentially a bed and breakfast. No lounge, no bar, staff leave at 8pm, no facilities other than a small pool. Bedrooms small, no proper wardrobe space, small bathroom. Very strange practice of then asking for a tip when paying final bill. Never seen that in France before. Annoyingly I felt obliged to pay but wish I hadn’t. This was the third relais and chateau hotel we’ve stayed at on this trip. The others were extremely luxurious and cost the same or less than this one!
  • The price of the dinner and breakfast was way beyond our price range (168 euros and 40 euros a head respectively). The restaurant has a Michelin star so may well be justified, but came as a nasty surprise! The staff were very kind and offered us a selection of high end bar food which was very good. Just be aware when booking for dinner.

The view from the garden is beautiful. The room was comfortable and quiet, the shower room very nice. Convenient location to stop over while travelling around the French Basque country. The small swimming pool looked inviting.

EVERYTHING! The staff were wonderful, the location spectacular and the rooms beautiful.

I appreciate it's a small hotel but would have liked an option for food during the day. The breakfast was a little costly but absolutely delicious.

Cozy and calm! The hotel is located surrounding nature. The staff are very friendly! The dinner was extremely tasty! Breakfast from local products is also tasty! I want to come again!

Very clean, not fussy and well serviced.

Beautiful property. Very stylish and extremely comfortable and attractive suite with lovely terrace

Better range of room service would be good. Dinner was amazing and the restaurant is beautiful. Staff were extremely attentive and helpful, but no form of casual dining is really available. Small hotel with emphasis on dining so it’s completely understandable.

products in bath room.

It should say on the booking presentation that reservation for room and restaurant are separate. like other guests who had the same experience, we also were surprised that while being a "guest" at the hotel, the "waitress" who attended (the recepcionist had gone home, at 20.00h ..) just said "no table" and we should go to a sportsbar 500meters ahead (the food was not that bad). Also, the room is far smaller then anounced, it is cosy, but small, also the bed. Internet in the room we had was just going on/off, had to log in again with each change of internet page. the "country view" was to the parking lot. In all, we had high expectations, but it is not an experiece to be repeated.

Very nice place in the middle of Basque nature. Small, comfy room. Excellent bedding. Nice garden, and outdoor furniture. Heated swimming pool. Last but not least, the restaurant is worth the trip.

A little over-decorated room with loats of knick-knacks.

they were super dog friendly in both the hotel and restaurant - I was given a lovely garden room with private terrace perfect for traveling with my dog
