Cons -
- Yes. I left clothing in our room closet. I returned that day and asked if they had found them. Front desk said no. He said housekeeping hadn't seen them. I went again the next day, found housekeeper, she had them. He had not checked with her!
- You couldn’t read at night as the lighting was shocking. Would have been nice to enjoy drink outside in the lovely outdoor area but bar was closed.
- Breakfast was good but felt a few euros too much

Excellent location, good pool.
No lift
Small hotel at the river bank in a little village with walking distance shops and restaurants. Also several cute little villages around to visit or to have dinner in quiet environment. Rooms was small but clean, we’ve got room both very small window, we don’t see much from, otherwise view could be nice on the river and rocks. Good for short stay. Haven’t tried the restaurant.
Several umbrellas at the pool vas broken, no drink service at the pool, when hotel have restaurant and bar.In room paper cups that gets soft and wet after two drinks.
everything! had a lovely old European atmosphere., bed was very comfortable. with a choice of pillows.
I wanted a water kettle in the room to make my own coffee as I wake up long before breakfast is served. It was placed in my room right away.
The location is excellent. The hotel is very charming. The pool is very clean, to get there you have to walk through the street to get to the other side of the block. The beds and the air condition are good. The breakfast is also very complete. Parking places were available (with one exception).
We did not get a parking space on one evening and had to go to the public parking, (which is not far away and not expensive, but it was still annoying) Maybe the hotel could register and control the plates of the guests, to ensure that no strangers park there? There were several things not working in our room, like the shower head, the safe, the door to the toilet was difficult to open and close. The location is very central and thus quite noisy in the night if there are parties around. But that is normal in this part of town.
Excellent and friendly staff. Great pool. Good restaurant. Quirky decoration.
Not worth 14 Euros. Terrible coffee. Go to a cafe, much better
Decoration, room size, worn carpets. Bad breakfast.
Great location in the centre of town - a lovely old hotel with real charm and a great pool. a fabulous terrace, for a relaxed drinks - highly recommended --with an outstandingly helpful, friendly and fun manger (Jerome ? not sure) who made our stay even better
It is a shame but the dinner really let this lovely hotel down - a serviche with not a hint of citrus let alone chilli, badly executed faux fusion cooking - nicely cooked duck but slathered in oyster sauce like a poor take way with apparently frozen mixed vegetable . Over cooked cod in a bland sauce with a mushy risotto and rather chaotic service. a real shame as the setting and hotel are wonderful.
position.friendly staff food though breakfasts were a little boring and it would be nice if dinner menu changed
Great staff! Exceptionally helpful. Excellent restaurant. Centrally located with lovely pool area.
Rooms poorly setup. Entering the bath tub, you took your life in your hands. Particularly for older people, slippery with no hand holds. Hand held shower which increased the risk to life and limb. One bar of soap and a couple of little packets of shampoo. Parts of ceiling so low my wife slammed her head.
The desk clerk, Guillaume, was a delight. His kindness and helpfulness started our visit off with such warmth and good welcome. The restaurant served a wonderful meal and the staff were friendly and helpful with our dinner choices. It was a bit hard to find the alley that took us around back but once you know where it is it was no problem. Parking spaces were scarce but we managed to find one in the back of the hotel each night. I'm not sure if this holds true in the high season. The town itself is wonderful and walking up and down the main street in the evening was enchanting. Font de Gaume was the highlight of our trip. GET TICKETS IN ADVANCE ON LINE.
Location was lovely and convenient to everything. The staff was friendly and went the extra mile to meet our needs. We appreciated the free parking.
Breakfast was average.
Very quiet, beautiful view, nice pool, good restaurant for dinner with nice terrace, excellent location near the river, perfect for picnic and activities with kids.
Old unpractical furniture, degraded shower appliance, crammed parking lot, basic continental breakfast
The location was excellent, and very central to the town. The hotel had a lot of character and good facilities. The staff were helpful and pleasant.
The hotel would benefit from a lift. Being old and on the second floor, we found the curving stairs difficult, especially at night when the lights turn off automatically. This could be dangerous.
Effective Aircon.
Swimming pool was still under renovationBed made very load noise when you moved or got up.The bed had Blankets - OMG, I didn’t know they still existed ! The springs in the mattress can be felt through the cushioning. The dated bed spread was Dirty and threadbare The Shower head didn’t stay in placeThe floorboards in the room creaked really badlyBreakfast didn’t start until 8am Dinner didn’t start until 19:30No water in the room !!! No coffee making facilities. There is carpet everywhere No Soundproofing at all, I was woken each night at 04:30 by the next door room door opening and closingSqueaky doorsInadequate toiletries Thin rough towelsNo Irish coffee available at the barFor 80€ per night for one person excluding breakfast, I expect more. Much more.
Interesting art in the room, comfortable big! bed, lovely views, right in the middle of town.
Wish it were closer to the train station, but all hotels here are a bit of a walk.
