About

Located in Fontvieille, near Vareilles, Domaine de Vareilles welcomes you in a former farmhouse converted into a refined and elegant hotel. The hotel features comfortable rooms offering a friendly backdrop for your stay. They are luminous and combine charm and elegance. They blend original oak beams, sumptuous materials and period furniture while offering every modern comfort. The rooms are ventilated but not air-conditioned. The property has its own restaurant in which you can dine from 19:00 to 21:00, you can also have dinner or just have a drink in the inner courtyard under the open sky. For your comfort, the hotel features an outdoor swimming pool. After exploring the surroundings, relax on the hotels sunny terrace. For the respect and comfort of all, it is not allowed to cross the common areas or to go to the restaurant in a swimsuit. It is a 17th century building and, therefore, the thickness of the walls does not allow optimal use of WiFi in all the rooms, despite the repeaters. It works perfectly in common areas such as the large living room, the restaurant room and the open-air interior courtyard. A picnic basket at €9.00 can be provided on prior order. Only paper ANCV vacation vouchers are accepted.

Great character building with a good swimming pool area and courtyard to eat outside. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. We cycled around the area which was very scenic. There is a lake not far away with a good cafe doing tasty lunches.

This was a return visit after several years and the improvements made over time have resulted in a splendid hotel with a first class restaurant. The bedroom was amazing - spacious, comfortable and well appointed as was the en suite with its two hand basins and multi-function spray shower. The historic building with inner galleried courtyard is something straight out of 'The Three Musketeers' and altogether unique. An outdoor swimming pool and ample safe parking are additional bonuses.Dinner of Limousin beef and local cheeses was superb.

Comfortable and interesting hotel in rural France, convenient for stop on travel through France. A very good restaurant with good value menu and well prepared interesting food. Good breakfast.Hotel is dog friendly and there were 3 dogs in restaurant when we had dinner.Pool area is impressive but unfortunately already closed by time of our visit.

Poor Wi-Fi in the bedroom but good in the communal areas. No tea making facilities but we brought our own so no issue.

Our third stay. Relaxed by the pool on arrival with a G&T. Evening meal was superb - the steak was probably the best I’ve had in France

    Nothing in particular

    7BrianPosted on: 7-2-2024

Restaurant was good as we already knew .

The prices at this hotel were on the expensive side - both for accommodation and meals. There are no other restaurants / bars in the vicinity
