    Pros +

    • As a family of two 6 year olds and small dogs, that are part of the family, we were made feel so welcome and could relax and really enjoy our stay. The food was wonderful and so was the service. The pool and area was beautiful but unfortunately we didn't have time to try it this time.
    • The property was first class in every way - room is amazing, food exceptional and service hit exactly the right note. The owner does not speak English but with effort from both sides we communicated. You can also use a translator:-). We enjoyed our first visit very much!
    • The accommodation was very good beautifully furnished. The gardens were lovely and very well kept. A good size pool with ample sun beds surrounding the pool.

    Cons -

    • The only little thing was that the shower/bath was only luke warm. If you have a child with a limited diet, I would make sure to bring own snacks, but saying that, the restaurant did their very best to accommodate this.I have absolutely nothing else to remark upon.
    • The restaurant was lovely but the food too rich. If we had stayed longer than one night, it would be difficult to eat again.Breakfast was adequate but not extensive.Pool was very difficult to exit as it had no rail, so I was unable to use it.
    • Absence of staff to welcome us (except for Indian and other trainee staff who were excellent).Owners and regular staff were not helpful and were uninterested in us

Beautiful buildings & grounds of great character

Very little - we were first guests after reopening from their winter closedown & everything was super !

Lovely old establishment, set quietly in the middle of nowhere. Superb spacious room, with a bathroom AND a shower room, opening direct on to the courtyard. Good restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner. Thoroughly enjoyable one-night stop which we would highly recommend.

The garden is amazing, the tranquility and of course the food. Dog friendly, swimming pool

A few parasols around the pool are really missing.

    9SusanPosted on: 9-4-2023

Beautiful location, amazing property, outstanding dinner and friendly service.

Maybe avoid Monday, as kitchen closed and place deserted! Did have pool to ourselves though!

This is a beautiful Logis built around a traditional Manoir with large walled gardens and a courtyard. There is an outdoor pool for use in season with an accompanying spa and hot tub. The on site restaurant is excellent and all the bedrooms and public rooms are decorated to a very high standard.

The property is outstanding and the only minor criticism is that the restaurant is set up for fine dining which can be a bit over facing if you are looking for a lighter meal. This can be accommodated but departing from the fixed price menus to eat a la carte is quite an expensive option.

Nothing the hotel accepted our booking then minutes later refused to let us in

The hotel locked it’s doors and did not let us in , they took our money and agreed to an 11pm check in on the booking I telephoned for directions minutes after booking and was told that they would not allow us in as it was 11pm- they still kept our money . We then had to find alternative accommodation .

A regular stop over en route Spain. Rooms are elegantly appointed. Spacious grounds with outdoor pool.Warm welcome. Mostly French customers during our stop, so French language prevailed but English also should you need it.We ate outside and for a Tuesday evening in an out of the way place, it was very busy. We couldn’t help overhear the bookings being taken for future meals…..always a good sign. Didn’t stop for breakfast.

Lovely room. Very spacious and a very comfortable bed. We had to leave really early to drive to roscoff and the host was really accommodating

Fabulous courtyard buildings in a very quiet and peaceful location., The food and service were excellent in a very popular restaurant and the staff were very welcoming. The pool was a bonus on a hot day.

The weather was very warm and the bedroom hot with only a door and no windows or air-conditioning, a fan would be helpful. The wet room shower did not drain very well, making the floor tiles very slippery.

    beautiful location and chalet

rooms have no shower - so you have to sit in the bathtub or make everything wet.Pool too small and water not very clean

We were welcomed by the person in charge of the hotel, this was a very friendly and constructive person.

The waiter of the restaurant would not show us the menu or drinks menu. there was none he said. Afterwards we saw the menus on a table in the restaurant . This was not so Customer friendly! But luckily there was the very friendly help of the person in charge of the hotel!

Very quiet and secluded and easy to get to places like La Rochelle. Amazing restaurant and fantastic staff

No Wi-Fi in room. lack of vegetarian options

stunning old building, beautifully decorated, nice refreshing pool - restaurant was nice with interesting dishes and attentive service

there is no air conditioning, not even a fan, and the weather was 30 degrees on our visit so, we were too hot to sleep and didn’t get a fan despite asking had to get up in the night and open the French doors as there was no window the WiFi was not working at allthere is no one on reception and we had to go to the restaurant to find someone to check us in and out you cannot drive anywhere near the room to unload luggage and the paths are gravel so it was difficult to drag cases across especially in the heat the main course of fillet steak - whilst beautifully presented and with a delicious sauce - was tough and chewy other diners made the same complaint but the hotel would not take any money off the bill - I had to really insist and even then they only took 13 euro off a 200 euro dining bill I would not return here there are too many issues

beautiful building, lovely location, delightful staff, great food, good pool

no wifi (probably knocked out by recent storm) and slightly dusty coffee tray in room

    10DawnPosted on: 6-2-2022

Breakfast was good. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Staff very friendly. Pets very welcome. Lovely room.

    10MikePosted on: 5-4-2022

Beautiful grounds in a peaceful rural location that was convenient for visiting La Rochelle Cognac, Bordeaux…The junior suite was large, clean, well appointed with separate shower room and bathroom. The restaurant was incredible with superb food, wine, service. portions very generous so build up an appetite!

nitpicking but bathroom amenities were fairly sparse and the TV quite small given how large the room was.
