- Breakfast was hearty and good
- Room could have used air conditioning and been slightly cleaner. Given its age and location, that wasn’t unexpected so we were happy with the room.
- Amazing location. Staff were very helpful in helping us find the room. Big and comfortable room!
Cons -
- Room was very moldy, smelled terrible, and I could not sleep, even wearing a mask. The bathroom and bed seemed ok, it was either the room itself or the ill-considered sofa that made the air unbreathable. Unfortunately i did not recognize my mistake in thinking it bearable until I returned to the room in late evening.
- No air conditioning
- Room looked ok out directly on to a wall. People walking by on the rampart were looking straight in to our room so we had to close curtains for privacy. The pillows were very poor quality and totally inadequate. Unable to use the overhead shower. The extraction system in the bathroom and toilet did not work. Where the tea tray was located did not have any socket which meant we had to move it to the desk or the floor which were the only sockets which could be used. The cups provided were made of plastic which produced a smell and unpleasant taste when hot water was poured in. Unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience and we were thankful it was only a one night stay.

Amazing location. Staff were very helpful in helping us find the room. Big and comfortable room!
There aren’t many options to stay on the island, and this worked out very well for my dad and I for 1 night. The room was large and comfortable, and we had a great view over the bay. All the staff we interacted with were kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend to stay a night if you are able - it is very cool being on the island once the day tourists leave.
The staff were very friendly.

The views
Dragging luggage up a very steep hill and sets of stairs. Also staff did not give us good directions regarding the car park entry and exit
We got to stay on Mt. St. Michele and watch the tides come in and go out.
We stayed in an "annex" of the hotel and it was a long, long up hill walk to the room. Just be aware that when they say annex, it does not mean that the room is next to nor even close to the hotel. After climbing many steps, there was no way we could hike back down to the narrow streets to go to dinner or to "see" the empty street. The breakfast was meager to be so expensive. There were maybe 5 tablespoons of undercooked (Europe does this everywhere because this is the way they are preferred) scrambled eggs in the serving dish and we were the first customers. Only grape (weak) and apple juice.
It was beautiful, clean and romantic and had an old world romantic charm. The bathroom was updated and very nice. The room was just what we would expect and want in that environment, and even more surprising than what we felt we saw online. We were glad we stayed on The Mont overnight so we had restaurants, walkways, and could enjoy the sunset and moonlight at The Mont without the crowds of other tourists. There were a lot of uphill pathways and stairs so consider that if you are planning a visit. The hotel held our luggage before and after we checked in and out. The staff were very pleasant and made restaurant suggestions. The hotel made our entire visit to The Mont very enjoyable.
We were pleased with everything.
Clean, quiet and so close to everything!
Gorgeous big room, great staff, and breakfast
Location was excellent. The rooms were comfortable, clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Nothing. Guests need to temper expectations and be prepared to climb! It is exactly as I expected and we loved it!
Great location. Room was clean and comfortable. Host was nice and very accommodating Breakfast was very good
Location near the main entrance was excellent to use as a base for exploring the island. The room I was assigned was at the back of the main property and on the first floor . As a result no street noise . The room itself was quite nice in a quirky historical way . It was a good size. The bathroom and hot water and pressure were good. The bed was comfortable . Very clean .
Two flights of difficult steep stairs to climb but I think the same at all the properties that on the Island. In fact because it was at the entrance to island probably the climbing issue was nearly as good as it gets. Very high turnover of guests . Most people only spend one night on Island . Therefore quite a bit of noise throughout day of guests coming and going.
period structure on the island
in building apart from main property so had to walk up various stairways to get to room, which was rather dark
Spending the night ON the island was wonderful. We had debated whether it was worth it, and it was. We purchased food and ate dinner and lunch on a terrace with the wind. Very few people, we were able to explore the entire island in the early evening. Our room was delightful with a small view, leaded glass windows, large beams and an old stone fireplace. Our companions room was nice with no view.
It goes with the island, lots of steps. Also, we didn’t take advantage of the purchased breakfast because we would have had to walk down to the beginning of the street which seemed not worth it.
We didn’t stay at the property but in a sub rented place with rooms Friends stayed at another hotel who wu rented it to ours which in turn au rented to a third place ?
Very kind ladies at the receipt - otherwise people rather acting as drill sergeants than people receiving guests (…)
Great location. It was wonderful to spend the night and avoid the crowds for a morning visit to the abbey. Window overlooked the bay which was lovely
Beds were separated.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a room with a small courtyard, very nice. The room was very clean and the beds quite comfortable.
There was nothing negative about the hotel given infrastructure and nature of the town. Just be aware the walk is cobblestone, uphill and very narrow stairwells. Lots of stairs. Pack an overnight bag and leave the big suitcases behind.
Our room was clean and very nice, and the bathroom was very nice as well! We were very happy with breakfast and the breakfast room! Nice options, lovely to have as much coffee as we’d like! I enjoyed my Niçoise salad for dinner.
The salmon dinner was very bland, no seasoning, and the texture of the shrimp was not peelable/bad. One of our party needed to purchase a sandwich elsewhere afterward. The onion soup was also a bad taste- had a burnt flavor, but very thin broth, not many onions. Also, the spaghetti bolognese didn’t not have much flavor, either. We had to ask our waiter 4 times for sparking water. For our room, our window needed to be open a bit to cool it at night, and it opened rt to a stairwell where people were very loud till very late. It kept our child awake until after midnight.
Quaint and cozy, but also comfortable and functional. The water pressure surprisingly strong and great hot water.
It was quite hot that day. We could have used another fan or two. But it cooled down during the night.
