    Pros +

    • friendly staff, good breakfast, nice interior design
    • Staff were extremely helpful to us - foreign visitors. Damian and morning staff. The property is away from stary most and we got to be among regular Czechs. Prices were lower and it was less frenetic.
    • Te hotel is a city historical mark in the centre of this beautiful town.

    Cons -

    • They should pay more attention to the details, the bathroom had few problems, our room was very hot, hard to control it. Hallway's lighting very poor, motion sensor response was slow. The elevator was a complete disaster, usually after while we end up on a main floor.
    • The parking lot is too small and when occupied you have to drive through such a small house entry to an another parking lot inside the hotel property. Definitely not recommendable for bigger sized cars.
    • paying extra for breakfast, when our room was already expensive enough.

Nice rooms. Good location. We were just for a wedding so location was convenient for us. I understand is in the city center of Liberec, so that is also very good.

paying extra for breakfast, when our room was already expensive enough.

Very Grand: velvet sitting areas in lobby, crystal chandeliers, lovely architecture. Amazing breakfast( can’t say enough good about the breakfast buffet) absolutely amazing European spread: meats cheeses eggs, muesli and more , cappuccino, yogurts pastries, even little brown sacks to take away as needed. They really go above and beyond with customer service. Right across the street is a little park and an old castle. Only one block away from an indoor mall with pharmacy and grocery store. Dinosaur family park at top of mall. Lastly, a couple of blocks from old town square a highlight of Liberec.

    Need wash rags in bathroom

Interior, WiFi, lounge zone, beds, staff, breakfast, location

Nitpicks: the view, pillows, the smell right after cleaning was off

Perfectly located in the city center, close to everything. Recommended if you're going to Anifilm. I'm back every year because the hotel and employees are fine. I liked to see the improvements at the breakfast buffet.

I got a room under the roof, so when it starts getting hot outside, it is also hot inside. There is no way to turn off the heating system in the room, so the only solution is to open the windows, which is counterproductive and not very ecological.

Beautiful old hotel made by Germans. Austrian Emperor Franz Josef visited. I love history. And good breakfast I have to admit.

No AC in the room. Loud cars driving under the window all night long. No surprise I didn’t sleep very well.

    Pleasant

Main problem was the excessive traffic noise all night.Apart from that a very nice and classy hotel, and a very good restaurant on the corner.Ps. additional parking in yard behind the hotel

My review is based on 14 days in Czechia, staying in  different accommodations every night....Was the stay value for money & would i stay here again and recommend?Definitely YES!Superb in every way possible.Pre arrival help was excellent and I had a lovely room overlooking the part. The cost was exceptionally reasonable with a breakfast you only dream about!

Clean and excellent breakfast. Not far from the centre.

There is a problem with the parking places. Not only that there are not included, even so it is not sure you have one. We had to park at the mall nearby.

We have used this hotel many times, it’s usually fine and prices via Booking have always been good before, but unfortunately this seems to have changed a bit. The breakfast is very good.

It seems that the hotel has not only increased the prices but also changed the room categories since beginning of year 2025. Unfortunately, when I booked in beginning of January for our latest stay that took place end of the same month, Booking platform apparently hadn’t been updated properly as it offered me the same room as usual, stating it was available to book for 2 adults + 2 kids (11 and 8 yrs old), however when we came to the hotel they informed us that in this booking we had only reserved a three bed room, not suitable for 2+2. The hotel had changed our reservation to a bigger room, charging us a higher price, but we received the same room as we always were offered during previous stays. They explained it with the change of their room categories. It was fine for us at that point, as what could we do otherwise, but they stated that they had emailed us about it upfront, which was unfortunately not true. Would they have informed us, as they said they intended to do, we could have cancelled our reservation if wanted. This unfortunately led to a less pleasant experience than before with both Booking and this hotel. Now when I look at Booking platform it seems updated as it offers other room types and to a much higher price. But it definitely wasn’t in beginning of January.

It is a charming old-timer hotel in a wonderful location. I had a comfortable, spacious room.

    6PhilippPosted on: 1-2-2025

The location is very good. Close to the Tram and Bus stop that takes you to Bedrichov. Only a few minutes to the old town square and restaurants.

Our rooms were on the ground floor and in one of the rooms only one radiator was included. As this is a historic building, the windows let a lot of cold air in and then the room was relatively cold. Especially the bed next to the windows. Maybe this is not so much of a problem on the higher floors, but on the ground floor it felt too cold for what is considered a "Grand Hotel". Even after the receptionist increased the heating temperature it still felt cold in the room.

The location of the hotel was excellent and it had a nice ambience. Breakfast was very nice, though it was sometimes hard to find a table -- it was a very busy time of year. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the wellness and fitness facilities.

I will preface this by saying it was a very busy time of year - between Christmas and New Year's - but there were several abnormally long waits, for check-in and to access/check-out of the wellness area, where it was clear there were just not enough staff. There is not daily room cleaning, as other reviewers have mentioned, but there is the option to request various services by filling out a tag you hang on your door. We requested that the bed be made and the tea/coffee refreshed. The bed was not made and a dirty coffee cup was left in the room, but the towels were refreshed (which we did not request). The room was very hot, even with the thermostat turned down, which made it hard to sleep, and the shower was not hot enough if you like a really hot shower. Some nice extras that often accompany this star rating -- robes, slippers, smart tv, nice toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and body wash, rather than one universal gel) were absent. In the wellness area, some guests did not follow the rules and wore swimwear in the sauna. It's a pity there is no real bar -- just a refrigerator at reception. The stay wasn't bad, but a bit more care would have made it much nicer.
