    Pros +

    • Lovely little town, nice host, easy to find.
    • Lovely mountain village hotel & restaurant. Rooms are fully refurbished & very comfortable. Good communication with the owner when we realised we might arrive late due to TdF traffic on the mountain roads. Excellent evening meal & breakfast served by friendly staff.
    • Small local hotel in the heart of Mercantour national park. Beautiful scenery, pristine small village, peace and quiet, good food... my husband said it is an ideal place to clear your head. Amenities in the hotel are basic but completely sufficient if you're not looking for deluxe comfort.

    Cons -

    • Unfortunately we had no hot water during our stay so no showers for the evening (after a full day of being in the snow). Wasn’t ideal. Would have been nice to be compensated with a free breakfast or similar..
    • Whilst the owner was multi-lingual, friendly & welcoming she was somewhat hard-pressed, the staff appeared to speak only Spanish (Cuban?) not having even the basics of English or French. Despite this we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful mountain village.
    • As our stay was in July, it was very hot - the room had no air conditioning and did not cool down in the evening, so we found it quite hard to get a good night's sleep. Otherwise no specific downsides.

Clean appartment with mountain view, Very nice host. Half-board for 37 EUR (very good dinner and breakfast).

Shower curtain too long for the roof-top room bathroom.

The hotel and the breakfast and dinners were fine. Rimplas is a lovely village set high on a mountainside with narrow walkways between the houses and footpaths heading in all directions through the surrounding countryside.

    Nothing really.

Very friendly welcome and excellent rooms, in a fantastic location with spectacular views. Rimplas is a hidden gem and the hotel is the perfect place to fully enjoy it! Dinner in the hotel was very nice as well.

Rimplas itself is an amazing place! And Hostellerie is one of 2 (maybe 3) possibilitys to stay in this absolutely awesome village (if you're not owner of some properties there...). Paola, we'll be back, for sure ?

    10GrantPosted on: 6-25-2023

Fantastic little hotel in a beautiful location. Very comfortable and clean. A delicious evening meal was provided at short notice despite the restaurant being closed. That was unexpected but very much appreciated after a long day of travel!
