About
Vescine is a 5-star hotel and relais in a vibrant 13th-century village in Radda in Chianti, in the heart of Chianti Classico, 12 mi from Siena, 26 mi from Florence. Here Tuscany is not something you visit: it is something you live. Borgo Vescine invites guests to belong, sharing daily rituals, traditions and the authentic spirit of a living 800-year-old Tuscan village. The hotel has 28 individually designed rooms within the original village buildings, two restaurants, a panoramic pool over the Chianti hills, and its own vineyards, olive groves and wine cellar dating from 1061, all set against a landscape where nature and architecture meet in perfect harmony. Guests can enjoy genuine, extraordinary experiences: riding a Vespa or vintage-car through the Tuscan hills, the traditional Cena in Piazza, the candlelit Cena in Uliveta, tastings of the estate's Chianti Classico and olive oil, cooking classes and many seasonal activities such as the grape harvest and olive picking. At Borgo Vescine, luxury is reading a book in the orangery while tasting a signature cocktail, a grand shared table set beneath the stars, a sunset special aperitivo at the panoramic pool or a romantic outdoor movie night. A stay at Borgo Vescine leaves you belonging to a place, a rhythm, a community shaped by centuries of Tuscan tradition. Come as a guest. Leave as part of Borgo Vescine.

Pros +
- So beautiful ! Nice property and grounds. Everything was well maintained and smelled great
- The hotel itself was beautiful and very peaceful. The rooms are big and comfortable. Special shoutout to Silvina, Ana Lucia, and Agustina for making our stay extra special.
- Amazing location, beautiful facilities and friendly staff! I loved watching the birds fly around the property, we could even see them from our bathroom window. So peaceful. The dinners on Monday and Friday are fun too. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Couldn’t have wished for a more dreamy stay in Tuscany!
Cons -
- There wasn’t much to do at night. Had no entertainment or events. Restaurants were very pricy and the only 2 in the property.
- The service didn’t fit that of a 5 star hotel. There could’ve been little details that make all the difference in the stay but I feel like the staff is not trained right. It feels like managerial problem, not the staff itself because they’re nice. For example, the hotel hosts a dinner once a week for all the guests in the hotel and nobody told us about it. The bathroom for the fancy restaurant / breakfast area is just a storage closet, could definitely use some redesign.
- There are 2 restaurants and only one was open for dinner. It was a little pricey and was expecting both restaurants to be open! We did come early in the season but that wasn’t clear.

Great location . Magnificent property . The staff , food , service five stars.
Beautiful property! We had a fantastic room and the property has wonderful views. A short drive to Radda in Chianti and Castellina in Chianti for quick day trips.
There are 2 restaurants and only one was open for dinner. It was a little pricey and was expecting both restaurants to be open! We did come early in the season but that wasn’t clear.
Fantastic aesthetics and location if you want to visit both Sienna and Florence. Really beautiful corners and you enjoy walking around the premises. Good breakfast.
The services were far from the level of their cost. Food could be much better as also ironing services.
We visited this hotel at the beginning of April. The hotel is like a dream – everything from the facilities to the staff.A big thank you to Mr. Stefano and his colleagues.Don’t forget to buy their olive oil and their wines!
Location, tranquility, outstanding property, staff, vista, swimming pool, shared areas, breakfast superb, wine cellar, outside spaces, food.
Very little. With young kids - it would have been nice to be able to eat slightly earlier in the restaurants.
Outstanding location. Friendly staff. Wonderful food.
Traditional Tuscan cottage
Very dark room, unfriendly and unprofessional staff, needs modernization, tiny bathroom
Beautiful spot and best view
Room service was overpriced and didn’t have complimentary water on our room. It’s basic.
Stunning facilities with epic views, friendly staff, incredible food, and numerous activity options. Our room was a good size and central to everything on the property. We got the "Superior room with a Terrace", but only because less expensive options weren't available. All the rooms are totally unique. (Tip: Message them in advance to request photos of your specific room, so you can change it or set expectations accordingly.) The free lotion, shampoo, etc. bathroom bottles smell absolutely amazing! I wish I bought a bottle of their fragrance to bring home with me. We enjoyed relaxing at the pool, walking in the olive groves, wine tasting, and truffle hunting with Sirio and his dog, Brina. Anna at the front desk is possibly the sweetest and most joyful person we've ever met while traveling. Restaurant staff was also delightful and very accommodating for my food allergies. Free breakfast was divine with fresh pastries, cheeses, meats, fruits, any my personal favorite-- honeycomb, along with cappuccino, tea, or juice. The property is huge with tons of trails, private picnic areas, and panoramic mountain views. The two restaurants on site are a foodie's dream. The Chianina beef filet and pici pasta are two uniquely-Toscana dishes you must try.
The room was more historic than luxurious, and the linens (though perfectly clean) had minor or notable wear. I would have liked more luxurious linens along with a desk for makeup and hairstyling with good lighting. This resort is the most expensive I've ever paid per night, so I expected perfection. Don't get me wrong, the property, staff, organized experiences, and dining are all 10+ amazing. The rooms could just use an upgrade to justify the hefty rate.
Borgo Vescine is a beautiful property in a beautiful location. All the staff are lovely and very helpful. It's a touch of luxury with the choice of special dinners and lovely restaurants, drinks by the pool or tastings in the wine room. It's easy to reach wineries and towns/villages in Chianti.
Exceptional food and service. The location and view is beautiful and there are plenty of different spaces to explore around the property. I must mention the beef fillet - it is an outstanding plate of food. The restaurant is of the quality you would expect from a recommendation in the Michelin guide. Also excellent for gluten free travellers. It was easily the best service we’ve had in Italy from the entire team of staff.
The high price is justified by the setting, restaurant and service. For expectations, the rooms are excellent but traditional - do not expect top end or modern luxury/mod cons. I ran the trekking trails on the map which seem to say they are much further than they are, so they may need re-measuring/new sign-posting!
Amazing property and location for a Tuscan Getaway. The place was beautiful with a good range of unique activities. We did truffle hunting, the communal town square dinner, wine tastings and a cooking class which were all extremely fun. Great for a 2-3 night stay and the welcoming staff made our stay feel effortless.
Pleasant
They completely overcharge you on wine. When I noticed I paid double the price of a bottle of wine at their restaurant which I could drink at half of the price in another restaurant I was very disappointed and I felt stolen
The buildings, pool and room. It was very nice and exactly what we wanted to book. The community dinners were great. Very tasty, plenty of good wine, and a great atmosphere, which is what we wanted. Keep them going! Breakfast was fantastic as well.
Some staff were rude, almost seemed they did not want to be at work. There was a lack of barman at the bar. In the early evening the bar below the restaurant was not occupied and so we could not buy drinks. This happened two out of the three nights we stayed which was frustrating.
Beautiful views, scenery and environment.
The rooms were generally darker than those photographed, and not super clean. The front desk staff were friendly - but we did have a bad experience where a member of staff entered our room without knocking or any prior warning, while we were getting dressed! When told he should have knocked, he responded “I’m new here”. Not the service you expect at any hotel.
Amazing views, very good kitchen, very nice manager of the hotel
You can do even more with it
Great location
Lights in the room went off on its on and electricity tripped several times in the evening. Not enough sun beds by the pool, pool water was cloudy. Rooms did not have any complimentary water.
