About

Relais Vignale is a charming historic 18th-century villa located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, with panoramic views across the Tuscan countryside and Chianti vineyards. The outdoor swimming pool is set in a floral garden, and the restaurant features a terrace. The center of Radda is 2 minutes' walk away. The building was renovated according to the original architecture, and offers the standards of a 4-star hotel. Rooms are elegant, each is individually designed, and comes with air conditioning, heating and satellite TV. All rooms feature a mini-bar, while suites have a balcony or a terrace overlooking the surrounding hills. Some rooms are in the annex building. The Vignale includes a collection of antique furniture, frescoed ceilings, and grand fireplaces. There is also a TV room, lounge bar, and library. WiFi is available and there is a free internet point in the lobby. Breakfast is buffet style. The restaurant is open to the public and specializes in grilled meat and traditional Tuscan dishes, accompanied by fine local wines. A wellness center with Turkish bath, hot tub and a relaxation area is at guests’ disposal with an extra cost. Massage treatments can also be arranged at an extra cost. The property offers free parking and is 1 hour's drive from both Florence and Siena. Volterra and Arezzo are both 36 mi from the property.

    Pros +

    • Location but there was a bike race that we weren't informed of when we booked.
    • The views from the balcony, the property, location and breakfast! Radda is super cute.
    • Very pleasant and professional staff, great location for star tours around Tuscany

    Cons -

    • Dated—very old-looking and dingy. The food was poor for the area. Staff were not friendly, and when we left two days early, they were focused on ensuring they were paid for the one meal we ate there and did not enjoy.
    • Our initial room was a basement room not in the main building. We upgraded to a junior suite - worth it.
    • Rooms are a bit old fashion, but I guess it's part of the magic of this place

Great view, great location, horrible bed.

Very uncomfortable mattress and pillows in my room. Unacceptable for the price paid.

Location, town walking distance with great restaurants, bars, music. The view is spectacular. Wineries are close by. Staff and service very good.

The rooms are big but the furniture is old

Accessibility is quite messy: to get up to the rooms we had to get some stairs, then elevator and then another stairs. Same in the room: to get the bathroom we had to climb stairs! Also, the staff was not that nice nor friendly.

This was the capstone of our trip to Italy and what a beautiful ending! The staff was friendly, the food was excellent and the grounds were beyond our expectations. We booked 2 rooms, one standard, in the annex. That was nothing exciting but the view was spectacular. We also booked a terrace suite and what a beautiful view and spacious space for our family to gather. The grounds and facilities are just as you would imagine a Tuscan retreat to be, beautiful no matter where you turn. Thank you Relais Vignale, we hope to visit again.

Excellent location in a charming town, just a few minutes walk from great restaurants and a short drive to all the beautiful towns in the Chianti region. The staff is very kind, breakfast is very good, and there’s spacious parking with an electric vehicle charging station. Highly recommended.

WIFI is not working at the room, only working in the common area. Entrance to the Spa facility is with additional cost, the pool was under construction when we visited.

Great breakfast, fantastic staff and wonderful views.

I visited Radda for trail running event and hotel located just 100 meters to starting point.

There was a water (don't know good or bad water) leakage. Sorry I didn't inform the hotel.

A spacious garden suite which was private and kept clean. Front desk staff were always very helpful and also the breakfast team. Marco at the pool bar was very amiable.

Very limited and non creative dinner menu and overpriced for what it was. We stopped eating there after 2 nights.Breakfast offering was very plain compared to other hotels in Italy..very basic in every respect. The overall price for our stay was far to high for what we received. The Spa treatment environment was very poor.

Small hotel, in the quietest little town with great views. The hotel was great with well equipped rooms. We had a terrace suite which was very private from the rest of the hotel.

Breakfast could have had better/more made to order items . The town doesn’t have much bit for a base for day trips it worked well

    10MariannPosted on: 10-29-2024

the breakfast was wonderful - fresh blueberry juice and pomegranate juice ... and cappuccino or expresso made to order... yogurt with fresh fruit and oatmeal to mix in and variety of baked goods, cheeses and meats.. a very italian breakfast. the views spectacular...

I would have liked to see larger shampoo, conditioner and some moisturizer in the bathrooms for us to use. since there weren't a lot of electrical outlets, perhaps lamps that have USB chargers in the base.

The staff was great and property was clean with an incredible view and pool!! Location was great for visiting local wineries or just exploring the wonderful town of Radda in Chianti!

Nothing, all was wonderful!! Very tranquil!! We would highly recommend a stay!!

Great location and lovely comfortable accommodation

The restaurant was not great and poor value for money, however there are several good restaurants close by

    10JohnPosted on: 9-28-2024

Great location for visiting Chianti Classico wineries. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially in arranging for a personal winery tour and lunch at two very good and quite different wineries. Plenty of free parking available at the hotel, unlike the rest of the small town. Easy walk into town center(5 minutes) for restaurants and shopping, though I highly rate the hotel restaurant too. Picture are from my room window.

    Nothing comes to mind.
