About

Located within the grounds of the 18th century Schloß Pillnitz palace, this privately run hotel enjoys a beautiful setting by the river Elbe, surrounded by picturesque vineyards and fruit orchards. Look forward to the romantic and spacious rooms of the 4-star Schloss Hotel Dresden Pillnitz. Wake up from a peaceful night's sleep to an excellent breakfast buffet. Free WiFi is available in the lobby. Some of our Comfort and Superior rooms have whisper-quiet air conditioning, which can be booked for an additional charge of €8.00 per night. Air conditioning is included in the room rate in the suites, as is the case for stays of four nights or more. From April to October, sit in the beer garden, where you can enjoy draft beer and hearty meals. Tasty Saxon dishes are served in the conservatory café. Half board consists of breakfast as well as a regional 3-course dinner in the conservatory café. When the weather turns cold, enjoy the cozy restaurant with its open fireplace and dine on delicious Mediterranean cuisine. From the jetty, which is just 492 feet away, take a ferry trip down the Elbe to the romantic Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland) region or the cathedral town of Meißen. Alternatively, you can use one of the hotel bicycles and explore the area following the nearby Elbe cycle path.

    Pros +

    • Atmospheric hotel with charakter! Clean and comfortable. Professional staff.Delicious cuisine.Perfect polish speaking ?
    • Just perfection! The staff was really friendly and the location is beautiful (we went there in December, and it was just in front of the Christmas Garden Dresden). Also getting to the city center of Dresden by bus/tram was definitely easy.Parking was unproblematic, Breakfast was delicious!Would definitely come back!
    • Clean, nice interior, cosy

    Cons -

    • If I have to be really picky, I would say that the pillows were way too soft - which is but rather "standard" in German hotels.
    • No kettle for tea/coffee in the room
    • The beds and pillows were uncomfortable for us.

Lovely location, great staff. Restaurant was excellent and breakfast also very good. Bathrooms were large, shower with good pressure

The beds and pillows were uncomfortable for us.

Very nice hotel, maintained to high standard, big family room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was good with good choice of food even for a picky little ones. Plenty of free parking just outside of hotel so very convenient for parking a van with a roofbox on top?.

There was an option for an extra bed for an extra fee of about €30, although it was not very comfortable, fine for 1 night but not the best for longer stay.

Very nice surroundings with historical feeling :) Room was spacious and clean.

Everything is great. The hotel is very nice. The standard room is comfy, impeccably clean and the furniture is of higher value. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. Lots of homemade options, great selection of teas. It is very suitable for vegetarians and there are some vegan options like homemade hummus or wild garlic pesto. The restaurant is also very good. Great choices for vegetarians.

The only thing that is inconvenient is that the restaurant as well as all the other restaurants in Pilnitz are closed on Mondays.

It's far from the main city. We stayed in the winter, this is probably a better option when staying during the summer months.

    Excellent breakfast.

we were told we would have pay 9 euro's to turn AC on. Room was a bit stuffy. We opened a window which was a bit noisy because we were above the terrace restaurant. in the photos and description this is sold as a Schloss/ Palace experience. But they would not allow us to view the amazing gardens without paying extra. Even though all eleven of us (bike group from Australia) ate and drank at the restaurant. Seemed pretty lousy and mean spirited. Staff not very friendly, in fact some staff seemed quite impatient and dismissive. We'd ridden out of our way to get there so it was not quite the Chateau experience you thought you were getting.

The location, is great. The rooms are very nice.

The menu at the restaurant - could be more varied. Also The choices at breakfast, limited.

High quality, well designed room with very comfy bed, excellent setting within the Pillnitz Palace complex on the banks of the Elbe, with easy access to Dresden city centre via city bus 68 (nearby) and tram line Nr2 across the river via ferry.

A beautiful room - quiet and very comfortable. All of the staff were so welcoming and kind. A great (and dellicious!) choice for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay very much, and are looking forward to returning.

Nothing at all. It was all really perfect.

Beautifully located hotel close to the Elb and Schloss Pillnitz and its park With a car the hotel was ideal both for sightseeing in Dresden and for an excursion to Saxonian Switzerland.Breakfast was delicious, and with attentive service.

We started out one night in a small comfort double room at second floor, where the bed (with the size of a French grand lit or a queen bed) was not at all comfortable and much too small for two adults to get a good night´s sleep. We were then offered as alternative, probably the last available superior double room in the hotel for the next three nights. The somewhat larger room with an ordinary double bed was OK, but the view from the room was horrible: each morning we could look at the delivery of food and beverages and watch the waste containers being picked up by the garbage collectors (see photo). We paid the ordinary prize of a superior double room with no reduction! We were surprised that a four star hotel does not offer tea and coffee facilities in the room, and that you as a hotel guest has to pay for an ordinary cup of coffee when you ask for it in the bar.

Clean, staff is polite and nice. The location is historical and very nice.

The bed was making a lot of sounds although the mattress was comfortable. The breakfast was smaller than expected.

Tough place to stay if you don't speak German

We had to pay for air conditioning. 8 euro per room.

The hotel is very convenient, breakfast was outstanding! Beds are wonderful. Our room was very quiet. And the palace is worth seeing.

You have to drive at least 45 min from the motorway (A4 direction France), and the route is narrow and difficult, especially at night. We booked the table in the hotel's restaurant, but when we finally arrived at 22.00, the restaurant and the bar were closed. Happily we got some Weinbrand (thank you!), but still I suppose we should have beed warned about restaurant's hours which are not mentioned at the website, btw.

My third visit to the hotel and again I have to give "10". I love this place. For small things like: gentle classical music during the breakfast, tasty liquor in the room, YouTube in the TV, peaceful surroundings, closeness to the Elberadweg.

As far as I remember restaurant is closed on Mondays. It could be downside. Is not for me.
