Pros +
- The rooms, the building, the location. Having all the best restaurants in town in the same building. The spa and wellness floor is excellent.
- Excellent hotel, friendly staff, great location & good food
- Bad
Cons -
- The blankets were quite short (not the usual 220 cm), while the pillows were too large but did not offer much support. A shower faucet without a thermostat in a hotel is very outdated - as expected, the water temperature fluctuates wildly.
- This stay was not up to Kempinski standard. Waiting for 20 min in line for breakfast, 40 min for getting a cup of coffee, the New Year´s dinner nothing special. Huge disappointment.
- - only fully automated coffee at breakfast - filter coffee may be the best option- during the holidays all restaurant serves fixed menus only, but in room dining was great- high room prices at peak season but fully understandable and value is good

Excellent central location newly refurbished Excellent selection in Breakfast room
Bathroom shower flooded room due to matted hair in drains shower from previous guests. Bar service in hotel foyer was nonexistent despite menus on all the tablesAn electronic ordering system for table service at breakfast might stop missed or mistaken orders which appeared common during our stay.
Balcony for smoking. Great Restaurants. Paid our parking.
A girl at reception told us to sit down they wil come to us. Never happened. The software they use for Checking In seems tedious. Speak to me about a better alternative.
Beautiful hotel in central Dresden. Sumptuous rooms great location, fantastic breakfast (best We've had in Europe), welcoming staff
Breakfast understandably busy on Sunday mornings. Maybe better to go early to avoid queue.
Luxury hotel, new and amazing rooms, great location in the heart of the city close to everything. Great staff in reception, vale parking, and all.
All was absolutely great.
Perfect location, rooms and service the highest level out there for 5 stars. Decor, restaurant, bar, lobby, Valle parking etc etc.
SPA could be better
Nothing.UPDATE:Four days after my check-out, and following my comments and e-mails to Kempinski Hotels’ corporate office and headquarters, I received a direct response from the CEO of this hotel.Initially, they offered an apology. After further correspondence regarding my legal rights and escalation to headquarters, the management fully acknowledged the issue and took responsibility. As a result, they agreed to refund my claimed amount related to this matter.I am updating this review to be fair and transparent. Thank you.
There are many things to say about this hotel, but the main point is simple: it is a disgrace that a property with this level of service is allowed to use the Kempinski name.My stay was supposed to be three nights, but it felt more like a prison sentence. I had booked a Grand Palais room. On the first night, I was given room 330, where the radiator was completely broken and would not stop heating. The air conditioner also did not work. I called the reception twice during the night. The first time, someone came, confirmed the issue, and simply offered me another room “just for sleeping,” even though it was 2:00 AM and I was traveling with a 2-year-old child — clearly not a realistic solution.Instead, the staff told me to “sleep with the windows open.” Outside it was 1°C, while inside the room the temperature was 29.1°C. We had just taken a shower, so the heat and humidity made it impossible to sleep. We kept waking up, opening the windows, then closing them again. At around 3:30 AM, I called reception again. They told me the technician would only come at 8:00 AM, so nothing could be done until then. They also said they were not sure if any other rooms were available and brought us a fan, as if that would help. My child woke up at 4:30 AM because the room was unbearably hot and dry. We sat awake until 6:30 AM, unable to sleep or rest.In the morning, they informed us that the technician could not fix the radiator and could only “disconnect it,” meaning we would not be able to use the heating at all. They told us to leave the hotel and “go around the city” while they moved our luggage. Later, we were given room 401, which is significantly smaller than the room category I had booked. My child desperately needed to sleep, so we had no choice but to stay in that room. I immediately went to the reception and asked to speak to the general manager. I explained that staying in a hostel would have been more comfortable than this. I SIMPLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!
Immaculate! The staff were accommodating and the room was first class- the high quality finish is stunning and certainly adds a luxurious feel! We could not fault our room!
It wasn’t until we checked out that we learned that we would be charged a 25 Euro parking fee per night for our hire car. We were not aware of this until departure. We booked through booking.com who listed this property as ‘free parking available’.
Amazing room. Outstanding breakfast and wonderful staff. Materials and architectural details were top notch. One of the best places I’ve stayed in years.
Nothing comes to mind
usual Kempinski 5 star treatment
We had a couples full body massage which were nothing more than very expensive hot oil spreading. No real therapy....didn't even touch thighs or glutesSpa facilities were excellent
The breakfasts were excellent, reflecting the hotel’s recognition with 2 Michelin stars. On the other hand, the facilities and exterior of the breakfast restaurant were disappointing, as the individual tables were placed rather close to each other, which meant a lack of privacy, and the tables themselves were also of a standard shape, giving the overall impression of a restaurant belonging to merely a “better” hotel. The hotel has an excellent location in the city center. The hotel entrance was impressive, and the corridors leading to the rooms were beautiful.
In the bathroom, there was no place to set aside a towel while relaxing in the bathtub. The sink was also small, making it difficult to place cosmetic items.
impecable room detail ,compentent staff ideal location
a fine breakfast buffet offered ,rooms flawless ,a request to a quieter room was effortless and courteously made ,Frau Mayer at reception most competent and attentive
dining room not conducive to crowds, dinner menu unappealing ,room too smokey,
This was our second stay in this hotel. The rooms were freshly renovated and absolutely gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable that my husband and I copied the bedding and the sheets for our home. The location is fantastic with plenty of restaurants and sightseeing close by.
The bread selection at breakfast could be improved but overall the breakfast was excellent.
Spectacular property one of the finest hotels in Dresden. Great service great location great food services beautiful room bathroom and bed facilities.
My only criticism was the failure to provide adequate shampoo soap and cream. This was surprising as luxury hotels usually promote luxury brands of these products.
Lovely property in the center of town and easy walking distance to the sights. The room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was fabulous.
Good
Breakfast very average No good coffeeBreakfast room interior set b-standard to the rest of the hotel
