Cons -
- Never saw a staff member until checking out. But she was friendly and nice, and we never had any issues, just was odd to never see anyone at the desk.
- Had an issue with hot water but it was sorted quickly. So no stress in the stay.
- Room is too warm during summer.

The staff were extremely friendly and the hotel really is wonderfully unique with very nice rooms. The location was also excellent. The old town is not too far away and we also got to explore the Neustadt which turned out to be a very vibrant and artsy place.
We had no problems.
Great hotel in a fantastic location, close to lots of bars and restaurants. Decor is very quirky but cool!
Nothing to dislike!
Quiet an experience. This hotel is just next door to a cabaret which gives a little reason to the home decor. I've been trying to find a word to describe it, and the best I can do is burlesque. The interior is full of DIY solutions and a lot of "more is more". It has nothing of elegance or refined taste but I must say that this hotel will stay in my memory for a long time as opposed to so many boring generic hotel chains. The garage was very convinrent and I think 15€ is reasonable for a closed garage.
The check in time was very slim and was a hassle.
Great location and very quirky hotel
There seemed to be a pool which wasn’t in use? No air con or fridge in room
It's like Salvador Dali decorated Fred Flintstone's secret gay bachelor pad. Surreal and fantastical interior deco, and executed very well. Be sure to book a table in advance for a travestie show at Carte Blanche - they're mind blowing and fun. The staff are really welcoming and lovely
The room didn't have an electric kettle, surprisingly (tho it did have a Nespresso machine). Breakfast was a bit barren by quarter past ten, so we jaunted to a nearby cafe. But we came earlier on last visit and it was a spread of tasty options.
Location: Located in hip area with lots of vegan restaurants and cabaret show - close to river. Unique Room Br. 7 with Balcony. Clean rooms.
Checkin only between 15-17:00. Wlan didnt work in evening.
Very god breakfast. Nice area.
No elevator. Very tough to carry a suitcase three stories up.
Huge room with unusual decor, comfy mattress and pillow, coffee machine. You also get a little discount for the show in Carte Blanche theatre, which is next door.
Hard to think of complaints! Well, there were only 3 coathangers in the room, that's not really enough...
Big clean quirky room. Quiet location. Parking onsite.
We weren’t aware that there would be no one in reception at the hotel when we arrived. The access code was sent to us mid morning the same day, after we had left the previous night’s accommodation and therefore had no internet to receive it. If we had known this was going to be the case we could have asked for the code to be sent earlier on the previous day. We were very lucky a lovely lady and gentleman from the cafe helped us get into our room.
Lovely and huge rooms. Amazing décoration. Bike can be borrowed to a good price. Nice staff. Close to the main streets of Neustadt.
A bit far from the Altstadt Curtains are not really darkening the room
Big room. Good price. Interesting art interior, handmade. Friendly staff. Large balcony to drink coffee. Good location . There is a small coffee machine with capsules. For the price the hotel is good and can be recommended. There is a cocktail bar and theatre nearby. My stay was very quiet. For me it is not a problem, but I assume it could be noisy, some days, just as remarks for business travellers, this may be important for them
The place needs some renovation work in my opinio, like painting the walls, changing curtains. Cleanliness in my room is passable, but not perfect. However the place could look much better and cleaner with some small renovation work, like floor varnish and paint.
Breakfast was good, friendly people work at the hotel
there was no elevator in the hotel, and we constantly had to climb to the third floor with heavy equipment
Very well located hotel in the Neustadt area of Dresden. Comfortable to explore the city.
The shower was broken, we flooded the WC and there wasn't any way to contact reception from 16 onwards to get it fixed. Moreover, my partner went for some coffee outside and then he had to stay 20 minutes waiting outside in the cold cause the door machine didn't work easily. Definitely very overpriced hotel for what it is.
Excellent location! The rooms are very clean and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is worth it :).
Our room N.10 was beautifully decorated and spacious, the bathroom as well, the towels were nicely soft, the bed comfortable, the breakfast room attractive, the breakfast tasty and varied. The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood and offers the possibility of paid parking. The young lady at the reception was very nice and helpful.
The streets in the neighbourhood are under reconstruction at the moment, so it was rather difficult to find the way.
The staff of Backstage hotel, especially the girl at Check-in desk is really professional and helpful. She arranged for us to wait in the restaurant until the room was ready. We can use the wifi and drink coffee for free there. There was no fridge in the room, so she put our stuff in the fridge in their kitchen. She also agreed to extend a bit of the Check-out time for us and communicate with the housekeeping staff. Very patient and kind and clear, excellent team!
