Pros +
- We liked everything, the room, the view, the little balcony, the receptionists, the dining room staff, the food. Almost forgot - they gave us free transport passes for zones A,B and C, which saved us so much trouble dealing with transport tickets. That was such a nice surprise!!
- I chose this hotel for its proximity to Sanssouci Palace: 10 minutes' walk. The breakfast was excellent and the room very comfortable.
- This is a very beautiful hotel which has gorgeous rooms which are spotlessly clean and with everything you might wish for your comfort. I met two of the staff - one an Italian lady and the other Dutch both could not have been more helpful. Thank you I shall stay again en route to my regular missions in Ukraine
Cons -
- Just a word of advice for people getting to the hotel by public transport - expect a short hike of ~1Km from nearest bus/tram stop to the hotel. Also, you have two options: take a very steep stairway from the Sanssouci park to the top of the hill on which the hotel is, or take a bypassing road which is longer but less steep and has no stairs in it.Besides getting to the hotel, some of the apartments of this hotel require taking a few stairs to get to. And we saw no elevator. So contact the hotel if it bothers you, I'm confident they have solutions.
- It is a peaceful location but a 15 to 20 minute hilly walk into and out of town again for dinner. Unless you too want to spend a whole day at Sanssouci I would recommend staying in town and getting a bus to Sanssouci. Something I only discovered after spending 20 euros on a short drive in a taxi from the station to the hotel is that taxis are few and far between. But the hotel issues an ABC-zone travel pass for free to all guests which works throughout the Berlin area. After my second night I caught a bus back to the station, parked my bag in left luggage (behind the staircase at the entrance from the bus station) for 4 euros, did a day's sightseeing and caught the S7 into Berlin where I used my travel pass for the rest of my stay.
- Nothing but I think check-in time should be earlier.

It is a nice and cosy hotel, located at walking distance from Sanssouci Palace. We arrived around 13.00, well ahead of the check-in time which is later than usual at this hotel but our room was ready and we could get into it without a problem. The person at the reception was very friendly and spoke English. There is a parking space on a hotel site and it costs 15 euros per night. Our room was neat and clean with some pleasant welcome things. The breakfast in the morning had a great variety of food and was served in a spacious room. Special thanks for a strong espresso (in some hotels they also have a coffee machine but espresso is weak) In the hotel, the rooms do not have numbers but bear nice geographic or historic names.
Nothing but I think check-in time should be earlier.
The room had all necessary things and even more (sewing kit, toothbrushes, safe and so on). There were no noise and we slept well. The villa is located really close to San souci and to the city center.
Please consider that the building doesn't have an elevator.
peaceful setting, lovely gardens, spacious room
based on the photos we were expecting to stay in a renovated historical villa. The main building is as expected, where reception, bar, breakfast, etc. are, but the guest rooms are in a new building, which while well done is not in the same style as the villa.
Excellent location to explore the park and Sanssouci Palace as the hotel is literaly just a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The breakfast had plenty of options to choose from.
We were given a room in the main building on the second floor with no lifts and had to carry all suitcases a big steep spiral staircase on a hot summer day. The room had no air-condition. Plenty of staff in the hotel but most of them seem to be in a foul mood, no smiles, no "can i help you?" I came back to the hotel after 10pm and all doors were locked and no one at reception. No instructions on the door how to unlock the door. Called the telephone helpline to get told by a machine that i was calling out of office hours.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had a tea kettle. Loved the place and felt like in a fairytale!
The breakfast was really rich! The main house is really beautiful and the little tower as a viewing platform was really something special. The garden and the opportunity to relax there and look into the distance at the same time was great. For me personally, the direct proximity to the Löwen Villa was something special. This villa is inextricably linked to the resistance around Stauffenberg. The assassination bomb was stored there until the morning of July 20, 1944.It was also recreated on film in the Löwen Villa by Tom Cruise and the movie Operation Valkyrie. The walk to the Sansouci Park is very short too. Just 5 Minutes.
Clean facilities, quiet place, stylish room, good breakfast
Beautiful building, with a lot of authentic and unique charm. Definitely felt like I was a guest in someone’s home. The room was spacious and very clean. Also, there was no a/c, but the room included a very effective fan that worked perfectly to keep the room cool overnight.
My only complaint was the room was too bright during the night. No rolladens on the windows and while drapes were long, they weren’t flush to the wall so the light spilled in at the sides and from the top. Bright lights outside the window and the late sunset and early sunrise (summertime) made it difficult for me to sleep, but my sleep mask came in handy. A minor inconvenience and easy to fix.
Location, breakfast buffet, and general service.
Too many stairs to climb to the rooms, which were supposed to be upgrades but I doubt it! And parking was not included.
Very good breakfast. You can access the viewpoint in the tower and you can see the whole city and it's free. Beautiful room. Looks very royal!
No elevator and there are limited parking spaces.
very good location, good to walk to downtown Potsdam. Room was spacious
no AC, it was a very warm weekend, expensive for what it is
Staff was super nice. Location unbeatable. Property super clean, if a little dated. Emil the cat.
They recently cancelled their dog policy.
Breakfast was very good with many options and good coffee. The room was very big with a terrace and a nice view. The location was quiet and peaceful. Every room seemed to have a balcony or a view. It was quiet and we did see a few people at breakfast but, it wasn't crowded by any means. The staff are fluent in English and helpful with tourist questions and ideas.
The only "down side" is if you are traveling via bus it is a short uphill walk from the bus stop to the hotel in any direction (yes, the villa is at the top of the hill). We did not sample the bar and there is no restaurant on site. The hotel sent an e-mail a few days before telling us this so we could make plans. There is an excellent Italian restaurant down the hill and the hotel staff helped us with a reservation.
Breakfast was magnificent.Rooms were big and spacious and comfortable.
Loved it all.
Superb breakfast.Location is in a very quiet street within a short walking distance from the parks and the city center.the room with the terrace was specious and full of light.
The room was beautiful, bed was comfortable, staff welcoming. Breakfast was delightful, proximity to town walking and many historical sites could not be beat.
Nothing! All great.
