    Pros +

    • Basically everything. Spacious rooms, friendly staff, thorough cleaning, prime location and all for a fair price. This hotel should be rated #1 in Potsdam! Also, the breakfast buffet offer with the next door restaurant really gives great value for money, it's delicious, fresh and inexpensive with a great selection of food and lax hours. We had a room with a terrace facing the square and it was very much worth the extra few euros.Room was big and well-equipped and anything and everything you may want to do or eat in Potsdam is right there for you. I also liked the initiative that if you do not require room cleaning on a given day you can instead get a free drink. :)
    • The place was very spacious, more like an apartment rather than a hotel room. The location is really good too, sanssouci park is just around the corner, the old.town with the Dutch quarter is also nearby. Parking space under the square is also very handy.
    • The hotel has an excellent location and a magnificent view from the window. However, the room lacked some amenities, such as a kettle, slippers (which I was able to request), body lotion (only 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel, and soap were provided), and the coffee machine did not have a hot water function. Initially, only two coffee capsules were provided for the entire stay, and the rest were available for an extra charge (3 euros for two capsules), which was only mentioned during check-out. There is a safe, but it is locked, and it is unclear how to use it as there are no instructions. I also found a cap left by someone else in the wardrobe.

    Cons -

    • No complaints. We enjoyed our stay and the room+the hotel fulfilled all our needs, and then some.
    • There was no coffee or tea except the first day, and there were no cutlery or plates unless you paid extra. So, what’s the point of the microwave?
    • I found my room to be a bit dusty. Also, I had hoped to use the sauna, but unfortunately there were repairs or alike going on that morning.

Location - good access to public transport. The staff were nice and room comfortable.

My standard room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly. Excellent location. Also great to be able to have a buffet breakfast option right next door.

I found my room to be a bit dusty. Also, I had hoped to use the sauna, but unfortunately there were repairs or alike going on that morning.

Staff were helpful and room was clean and spacious

Would have been nice to have a kettle in the room for tea and coffee.

Lovely hotel with great location great facilities and big comfy bed Amazing view out onto the square very friendly staff

No kettle but not a big deal

Great location and lots of character to the hotel.

Being charged for an additional pod for the coffee machine when we were there two nights and there there only two pods (one for espresso and one for a longer coffee) for two people for the duration of our stay. In fairness when we explained to the receptionist that we had left one pod in the room and had only used the longer coffee pod supplied and the additional one we requested she deducted it from our bill but it just felt rather miserly especially as we had paid extra for a superior room.

Great location in the centre of the city. Fantastic room overlooking the square and the Brandenberg Tor. Fantastic breakfast.

    Everything was fine

The convenience of the location between Ditch Quarter and Sans Souci and the space and quality of rooms

    Parking was limited and costly

    8QiPosted on: 10-23-2024

Location: just opposite to the Brandenburg Gate and very close to the Sanssouci Park. Room: very spacious room with balcony, facing Luisenplatz and Brandenburg gate

All fine. If it’s worth mentioning, the only thing was that some of the plates and bowls in breakfast room were not clean.

Fab location at the heart of Potsdam. With restaurants shops and transport within a few minutes walk.

The rooms were a bit dated.

    8HilaryPosted on: 9-21-2024

Our room was a spacious one on an upper floor with a view of the square from a small roof terrace. The bathroom was very spacious with both a bath and a separate shower. Good wi-fi connection for an older property. Good location overlooking Luisenberg Platz, with trams and bus stops nearby.

The room was a little under-provided for in terms of electric sockets. Breakfast was disappointing in range and the logistics were awkward - one had to go 'round' the buffet several times before spotting things, and I had to ask for 'black tea'. This was a shame as I had a perfect iced coffee in the venue the previous afternoon.

Central, lovely balcony with flowersn ad view over the main square.

Too hot in the room no AC

Lovely, reasonably priced Hotel. The staff were really lovely, helpful and spoke impeccable English (which was very helpful). The location was brilliant, extremely close to the parks and palaces. Great local restaurants.

Nothing really. My imagination could go wild with room decor which was somewhat dated but didn't detract from all the pluses of the hotel.

Excellent location. Room (suite!) was very comfortable but looked out onto walkway so close the curtains if you don’t want to be seen!Staff were very friendly and so helpfulRestaurant was good and breakfast had a good range of continental and cooked but things ran out by 8am so be early I strongly recommend

    Nothing major

Great traditional hotel on a great location next to a nice square in-between the historical inner city and the palace gardens. Incredibly nice staff, old school great room. Was a very pleasant experience!

The hotel staff are amazing. Close to everything. The room was spacious and the bathtub was wonderful. I even rented a bicycle from the hotel at a very good price.

I loved everything about the hotel.

It was perfectly located, close to the main Market square and most of the things one wants to see in Weimar. It was clean, roomy, furnished with antiques that gives one the atmosphere you want when visiting an historic place. Loved the high ceilings and wall to wall windows, luxury curtains, and the bed was comfy. Staff was helpful and friendly, check in was easy as the Familien Hotel where you pick up the keys, is close by the apartment. Lots of restaurants nearby. Great ‘vibe’ to the accommodations to match the old city. There is a washing machine on the ground floor but no dryer, just a clothes rack, which was fine for me as I did my laundry on the first night and it. had time to dry before I left.

I thought I might find a grocery store nearby so I could do a few meals in the kitchen but although I walked round most of the old town streets I did not find one. But it was handy having the fridge to put drinks and fruit in and sometimes leftovers from restaurant meals. I could have asked staff where to shop but in the end there were too many great places to eat (indoors and out) at, that I was not inclined to cook anyway. But the kitchen had everything one would need, if you did want to cook.

Great location.good value for money. Basic but fully enough. Breakfast buffet at restaurant next to the hotel very good.

A bit loud (old windows) and the pillows were a bit soft and strangely formed.
