open spaces, there was ample spaces to have outdoor gatherings. They offered a box breakfast for early transport to the airport.

the hotel offered spa services but not grooming services like manicures. This resort is near to a wedding venue - the front desk staff didn't know that many of the hotel guests were also going to the wedding venue. no coordination with taxi services.

The staff was incredible. Very friendly and welcoming. Accommodations were wonderful. The location is challenging to find from the highway. The breakfast buffet and dinner were delicious. The facility is massive with plenty of places to walk and rest. 10!

Location was difficult to find as the exits from the highway are poorly marked.

The breakfast was excellent, we couldn't stay to enjoy it due to an early flight unfortunately!

The (free!) shuttle to the airport was once on the hour every hour, so just bare that in mind when planning for flights.

Bad food with the exception of breakfast. Empanadas de morocho were awful and locro was awful.

The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-appointed. Food was very good and the staff was always friendly and helpful. But the thing I enjoyed most was the lovely grounds with llamas and many bird species. Hummingbird feeders would be a great addition!

We really enjoyed our stay! It would be lovely if there was a pool open to guests.

The staff were professional and anticipated our needs, the grounds are beautiful and the llamas added a special touch. We ate twice at the restaurant and the food was delicious. We had to leave to catch a flight at 6 am and without requesting the front office provided us a wonderful sack breakfast. We appreciated all their special touches! We will definitely come back and stay at this property again!

The fire in the dining area needs to be started before guest arrive for dinner. It added ambiance but also warmth. Both times we ate there this did not happen until closer to 7:20 - Dinner starts at 6:30. For us and other guests, a later dinner was not an option as we had a full and busy day and wanted to retire earlier. I also understand that this "summer" had been rainier and colder than usual.

The place is beautiful, full of vegetation, outdoors areas, amazing swimming pools (2), areas for kids and adults and with attentive staff.

It’s a beautiful place, the room was big and well lit with beautiful garden views. The house is exquisitely decorated and charming, and the gardens and surrounding area are gorgeous. The groundskeepers and landscapers are real artists, so many flowers! This place is really nice!

The room was good and clean, the staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast was pretty good, and we even got a very nice packed breakfast for our very early checkout. Dinner was nice too, though a little pricy. The airport shuttle is hourly and worked well for us.

Among the "airport" hotels, this hotel is not the closest one. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes, which is still much shorter than the 50-60 minutes to the city.The coordination for airport pickup could also be improved, we were only able to be picked up after walking around for 10 minutes and being noticed by the taxi booth inside the terminal. (We tried contacting via Whatsapp but didn't get a response in time.)

Extra Activities

The Employees at the reception are very unfriendly, they charged me an extra tax because I am Ecuadorian, they misused the law. They don't have the standards for 4 start hotel. The food is really bad for the preis and the vegetarian options are the worst fast food, I never tasted and there are no other options near to this hotel, because it is isolated, you need to call a taxi.I don't recommend to another Ecuadorian living abroad or vegetarian people. There are a plenty of hotels near to the airport.

They were very accommodating and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. We were disappointed that we arrived and left while it was still dark outside, so we couldn't see the full extent of the grounds. It was excellent!

Excellent resort hotel 15 minutes form the airport. Our second stay here and we opted for the superior queen this time. We felt it ws worth the exra money. Love the pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Excellent value for money

Location convenient to the airport about 20 minutes away; lush plants and plentiful birds, comfy rooms, helpful staff, and great food with varied menu.

We had a day between flights and didn't want to go into the city with the kids, but rather wanted to stay near the airport, this was the perfect place for us. The rooms were comfortable and there's a restaurant on site which serves tasty (if a little bit expensive) food, but the main attraction was the beautiful gardens and pool, the kids loved it: we played in the pool (I had a sauna), and the kids went to playground, hung out with the llamas, went on a treasure hunt and to the petting zool. It was like mini holiday! We'll definitely be back!

We loved our stay at San Jose De Puembo! We ended up staying here multiple times on our trip. The beds are comfy. The dark out shades worked phenomenal. The breakfast was delicious, and the playground/activities for kids were amazing. It is close to the airport and everything about this place is lovely. When back in Ecuador, we will definitely stay here again.
