- Too expensive for a small roomThe refrigerator wasn’t working too hot and no air conditioning
- The staff, food, and cleanliness
- Great location next to the railway station, easy to find as I had travelled from Australia.
Cons -
- I was disappointed the hotel restaurant only provides breakfast. I had checked the website which still indicates - "For lunch and dinner, the menu transitions to feature an array of Hanseatic specialties, catering to a wide range of tastes." As I had travelled so far over 2 days (including for 27 hours) and arriving around 7pm, I didn't want to be walking the streets looking for somewhere to eat. Although the receptionist kindly recommended a place nearby. The hotel website needs to be updated. Also, the room did not have tea and coffee facilities but the reception kindly provided some.
- Hallways smell a bit odd, no gym, kind of dark & dingy, no air conditioning
- No air conditioning in the hotel, but it was an older hotel. Refrigerators are not common in all the rooms.

Great location, excellent breakfast and clean

Everything was very nice specially the staff. It was very clean and in a nice location.
We took a train from Frankfurt on the ICE (intercity express). We got on in Frankfurt and the train trip ended in Rostock. The hotel was perhaps 100 feet from the train station, very easy to roll our suitcases over to the hotel to check in. No taxi needed. Breakfast was excellent! The staff were very personable and at least one staff person spoke English on every shift. They exchanged our large euro bills for smaller bills without any complaint or charge. My husband has medicine that needs to be refrigerated, and they arranged a room that had a refrigerator when most rooms didn't. The room was small, sparse. It did have a small desk area and a hotpot to make hot water for coffee or tea. However, we were very grateful to have the refrigerator so we wouldn't worry about the medicine. The window opened out into a courtyard, surrounded by other hotel rooms, so no one could access it easily. We did not worry about leaving the window open day and night to help cool off. We spent two nights in Rostock prior to a cruise on MSC in Warnemunde. The day before departure the hotel staff reserved a taxi for us through Hanse taxi. On the day we left the driver showed up 10 minutes early. We were very pleased. The price gives me the most concern. We spent 624 euros for two nights. The hotel would have been similar to a Motel 6 in the US for which we would have expected to spend perhaps 250 euros value for the same lodging. It was in the middle of the Hanse Sail celebration however and very difficult to find rooms anywhere. The location was excellent and the staff were excellent! also were very pleased to visit the Rostock museum and St. Mary's church. Quite a nice little town!
No air conditioning in the hotel, but it was an older hotel. Refrigerators are not common in all the rooms.
Central location right by the main train station, easy to get to the city by tram or on foot, easy to get to Warnemünde to board our cruise ship. Despite the location near the trains, noise was no issue. We also loved the free public transportation ticket that was included with our room! Staff was friendly and responded to all questions and requests immediately and to our satisfaction. The room was small but clean.
No air conditioning. We happened to be in Rostock on some of the hottest days, and it was quite challenging to keep the room at a comfortable temperature at night. Our room overlooked the courtyard, encircled by walls, so the air just really stagnated.
Conveniently located right at the train station, making transport effortless. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless, with towels that were impressively clean—something not always guaranteed in other hotels I've stayed at.
Very handy for the main railway station
A 20 minute walk into the central area or use you can use a tram
Disappointing
cleaning, no proper drinking water supply, allotted room was very small even with business upgrade.
Very close to the railway station and Tram connections into the City centre,Breakfast was good, Staff very Friendly.
The hotel was adequate and close to the train station
I was charged twice and the hotel isn't responding to correct their billing error.
Location, clean room.
Organization and receptionist.I booked a double bed room (exactly stated in my booking) they give me one with 2 separate beds. When I came downstairs again and asked if that was a mistake - a reception guy was very aggressive and told me - “you have to take this one, there’s no other available”. I tried to call booking.com , it didnt work. The line was switched off because it was late evening. I talked to the receptionist and after 20 minutes he told me he’s “already upgraded it to more comfort and thought I will be happy” then he sayed me “best I can do is give you free drink on a bar” and after I declined multiple times and stayed there he finally told me he’s “switching me with another customer because he has no wish anymore for my complaints” - as if it was my fault . He gave me the room I booked at the end. So there were rooms in the hotel, he just didn’t want to give the one I booked to me. The check in happened at 10pm, my room should have been available since 3pm according to their own rules. I understand the mistakes might happen but there’s no reason to treat people like that. He could have sayed from the beginning that there was a mistake, and if I would be ok to switch for one with separate beds with upgrade comfort class and drink on the bar. He didn’t. He charged my card and gave me the key of the wrong number without saying ANYTHING during the check in, not before I payed, see. The wrong one and came back. Before me there was a long line and other customer who booked with other than booking website were also complaining about getting the wrong number. So it’s the hotel fault. The line to check in was at least 30 minutes, the other receptionist was not helping, just staying there.
Once location, big room, good WiFi, friendly stuff
View from the window could be better and the heating (warm air) from the minibar that seemed to be not working when it was +31 outside
Superb
The fridge did not work in both rooms 239 and 352
Arriving later than normal in the early evening, we were able to go into out room straight away and return downstairs for a drink in the hotel bar
Everything was to our satisfaction apart from the minibar which comes in the price of a business double room. This only consisted of two very small bottles of water and was not worth the price difference from that of a standard double.
Excellent experience. The hotel is right next to the main train station, which provides connections to all parts of Germany and the region. The breakfast is excellent and suitable for all groups. The staff are very friendly and resolved all our issues with rebooking very quickly and efficiently.
Next to train station. Modern and clean Hotel and rooms.
The location of this hotel is ideal for guest arriving by train, being very close to Rostock main station. Staff were friendly and did all they could to ensure that my stay as a disabled guest was met
Having booked a business double room with mini bar I was surprised to find that firstly the minibar fridge was broken and the contents included only 2 very small bottles of water, certainly not the value paid between a standard and business room. Our room opened on to an inner courtyard which did nothing to help cool the room in hot weather, but rather added to the heat and we found with the window open it was very noisy. After being allocated a disabled room on arrival, this proved ideal for my needs. But is a shame that there is no facility to book disabled rooms online in advance.Again a working fridge in this room would help other guests staying if there is a need to keep medication cool and found that care needs to be taken with the kettle which we found leaked badly whilst poring and may well injure a wheelchair user
Very close to station so very handy for onward travel. 24 hour check in was good as our train was delayed. Good choice for breakfast.
