Pros +
- The común areas and the location
- For a town known for its fresh seafood, the buffet was underwhelming. A la carte restaurants were all closed due to low
- The staff was very friendly, the beach was nice, food was good, specially the days that there was peruvian food, entertainment good too, George is very funny and Gipsy is a very good dancer. The whole entertainment staff is good. Pool is nice.
Cons -
- The food and drinks are terrible, the worst quality. Also the rooms have very cheap finishes and decoration.
- The hotel should inform in advance to the customers the weeks that the beach is closed to the customers. Because of the moonsoon period and bad weather (that happens certain months every year) they close the beach following goverment rules. From my 7 days holiday i was not able to swim a single day on the sea, that was very frustrating specially when i come from a place that there is no beach and weather is super cold. My whole point in Punta Sal was to swim. Of course there is no refund of my money, i needed to stay the whole week with no beach access in the resort. I needed to walk 20 minutes to be able to go out of the resort and be able to do a quick swim in the public beach, where people that were not in the resort where swimming. This issue should be better organised by the main managers of the Royal Decameron. The staff doesn't have the fault, they are nice and just follow the rules. The doors of the rooms should be more secured, they are very fragile. The beds should be better and the room more maintained, everything looks very old. I think because is the only resort in the area, they get their prices expensive. They don't have competition, other hotel chains should be built and make competition, in that way this hotel would upgrade their rooms and charge cheaper to attract more customers. Gym should have air con and machines should be upgraded, too old. The Freddy Mercure show, good concept, but the female singer with glasses, i am sorry but she was a terrible singer and the saxophone player very bad too, the guitar player was good. The snack area, good salads but the hamburguer and chicken sandwich, the quality very bad.

wonderful hotel, great food, large area with large swimming pools, live foxes running around the area!
they don't serve beer at snacks
- The territory is beautiful and well maintained.- The beach is good and the swimming pools big and clean. Very quiet with no loud non-stop music like in many Peruvian hotels. - Restaurants are very stylish and low-lit for dinners (no ‘canteen’ feeling like in many all-inclusive hotels but a proper restaurant). Also main course is served a la carte for dinners and not buffet style. - In the Plus package, lunch is served in a separate restaurant also with a la carte main course with a good selection. The Plus pool bar has some better selection of spirits/alcohol.
- Quite far from even the closest airport.- The staff are very friendly but almost no one speaks English (as almost all guests are Spanish-speaking).- Some room amenities are missing (no coffee machine, no possibility to request an iron).- No dry sparkling wine anywhere even in the Plus section, white and red wines quite good though.
Excellent weathet, beautiful beach, warm ocean water. Clean pools, food was also good
Lack lived entertainmemt
The waiters and waitresses were awesome, very kind and willing to help all the time.
The bracelet they put in the visitors is collected at the end, but if you lose it you pay $40 for a piece of plastic. Nobody says that to the visitors when checking in, and at the time you check out and you don´t have the bracelet, then you are charged the $40. Very bad from them not to warn the visitors of that at the time of arriving.
The food was good, the drinks as well, what i didn't like was the registration process at the hotels , the lack of communication from the staff but it seems to be a cultural issue, the fact you weren't allowed to take food to your room or any other place in the establishment, that does not happen, in other all inclusive hotels and in cruises, found that not normal, also they seem to have been low in staffing at the restaurants, bar and lacking alchol in the pool bar area. the beach was not something i cared fpr since the wave where extremely dangerous.
see comments above
Great staff, great attention, we were well taken care of. The facilities were fantastic, the staff was friendly, and the whole experience was very nice. Would definitely consider coming back. My son loved the pool, we loved that everything was there, and we definitely were able to relax.
The Plus zone was nice, though I'm not sure if the perks were worth the additional money. We would have to stay in the normal lodging to know for sure. The pool was nice, but the constant 30 songs in the playlist played at maximum volume for 12 hours a day was definitely annoying. Club songs about sex are not appropriate for a kids pool... The food was good, but the same food after 4 days did get old. There was very little variety as far as flavors go.
Everything food, swimming pool, beach, walking, shows
the property itself was great. the pool was also amazing. The staff once I was let in were great
I was not let in when I needed it. I tried to reach the property multiple times to switch my dates and there was no one that could help me. it was frustrating to make it so far and not be let it. it was also very scary
the beach and their living rooms.
The pool didn’t have slides.
The Pool , the beach and the service.
More international food in the buffet
Pool is good sizeRoom clean with ocean view
When you arrive, too many people in the lobby, watching you, to don't go to other areas. If you arrive early, you can not used the areas. You need to wait between 3 to 5pm for you wristband and key for you room.Buffet is restricted with no many varieties of food and quality.Need to clean the beach everyday.
