    • We loved that we could visit with our dog, who was given his own towel and water bowl in the room, and was even allowed to join us for breakfast. We also loved that we could access the lovely garden directly from the room. There are also lots of nice walks very close by. Check-in was super easy too, with a key safe, which removed the stress of our train being delayed. We could walk there from the train station, even with two big bags on wheels, and a dog, so that was great! And something we especially appreciated was that we wrote in advance to say that we are both vegan, and staff went out of their way to ensure we had a fully vegan breakfast available, which was so nice. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet and the bathroom super clean. We were so happy to stay here after a long day of travel, and our expectations were exceeded!
    • The room was gorgeous, clean and comfortable and beautifully designed. The dining room was lovely and clean and the breakfast very good without the overwhelming range of choices in many places. Everything was well laid out. More than this, the staff were so kind and friendly, welcoming everyone individually into breakfast, and they let me stay late in my room to do a webinar without charge and then waited to receive the key.
    • we had a ground floor room with access to a small terrace which greatly enhanced our comfort level during the stay. Breakfast was awesome with all fresh food

    Cons -

    • The only thing I would have liked, is if the pool was open too! But we visited too early in the season (I love cold water swimming, but appreciate that the majority of guests probably do not!)
    • I hadn't realised that the desk closes at 6pm, so when I arrived, I went to a friend's house who luckily phoned for me to find out how we would get in. I hadn't noticed the Booking.com code sent to me. My friend came with me at 10pm ish and then we had a little difficulty finding my block in the dark. Once we did, all was easy.
    • If you want to be close to the centre you might want to choose another hotel but...but we think it is totally worth staying at F-RITZ. ?

Very nice and welcoming staff. Wonderful premises, pool, fitness gym, yummy breakfast, close to a nice restaurant free parking....nothing else to wish for. ?

Very nice Hotel , great Garden and well designed.

TV mounted on the wall with a none movable bracket so you need to sit on the edge of the bed in order to watch. Not a big deal it is a common issue in a lot of properties.

The room was very clean, quiet, staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ample. Enjoyed the casual comfort, cleanliness as well as the atmosphere of the hotel.

The coffee room for during the day consumption was an small enclosed glass covered location. Not very cozy for relaxing. However I was able to make myself a nice coffee and take it to my room.

The breakfast was ok taking into account the price of the room. No hot dishes as mentioned in the comments.

The staff was friendly enough but not all the receptionists spoke English so we have to use our knowledge of German (good that we had some :))

    10PeterPosted on: 3-25-2024

Clean, modern, sufficiently comfortable, thoughtfully-designed and supplied. Excellent breakfast. Friendly, considerate staff. Close both to a station and to an excellent gasthaus.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Good location, freshly renovated, nice big garden, EV charger, personal service. Nice breakfast.

    6RobinPosted on: 8-21-2023

The room is ok! The breakfast is fine :)

The staff isn’t really all too friendly. They give you an iPad in the room to search for restaurants (book a table!!) etc, but the WiFi is out most of the time. The woman who checked us in was stiff and could be considered rude. The lady who was in charge of breakfast was friendly though!! :’)

Great room, beds, facilities, bike garage, pool, honest bar.

    8DeliaPosted on: 4-12-2023

The hotel is a little complex of a few little buildings with each a few rooms that all look different. The room we were in was big enough for 2 people and even had access to a little terrace at ground level. The breakfast was a buffet with a big selection. When booking I asked in advance about gluten-free options (I’m celiac), and they were super helpful (I got my own gluten free bread as soon as I got into the breakfast room). The staff was really nice and we had nice talks.

clean and nicely furnished rooms with everything you need to be comfortable. Friendly staff and fabulous breakfast. super location just by the pedestrian zone and also nice walking options if you travel with dogs.

We arrive shortly before 6pm, we were still welcomed very warmly at the reception. The very nice lady from there showed us our room too, which looked like the photo they have on the web.The room was spacious, tidy, comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast may not be big, but it is more than enough and the quality of what they served were of great caliber.F-Ritz Hotel, thank you for our lovely stay. See you next time.

The F-Ritz is an absolutely wonderful accommodation with no serious competition when it comes to hotels in Schleswig. This is the logically the best choice in town. Its location is quite sensible, in terms of Schleswig’s challenging geography: the city is not large, population wise, but is extremely spread out in two wings, with the Bahnhof at a central hinge point at the west end of the bay, the cathedral and old town a considerable distance away along the north shore, and the Viking Museum off in the other direction, along the bay’s south side. Being some 750m from the Bahnhof, the F-Ritz is likewise in Schleswig’s middle hinge area: the Viking Museum is a walkable distance east, while buses heading in the other direction, toward the Landesmuseum and the old town, stop regularly (if infrequently) at a Haltestelle right in front of the hotel. The F-Ritz has a clean, Nordic elegance about it, being contemporary but in a comfortable and welcoming way. The rooms are bright, immaculately clean, and abound in natural light. The hotel even offers a grassy area with leisure chairs. I stayed in the junior suite (one of only two rooms with air conditioning) and loved the extra living space that this unit provides. The split-level design is fun and unique, with the upstairs bed/bath arrangement introducing a bit of extra exercise into one’s routine. The kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave, toaster, etc.) proved to be a blessing, as an early train compelled me to cobble together my own breakfast on the final morning of my three-day stay. The staff are excellent: I needed laundry done, and though this isn’t a chain hotel, they readily took care of it. All in all, I had a marvellous time in Schleswig, and the home-away-from-home quality of the F-Ritz contributed greatly to my enjoyment. I would gladly stay here again.

While the hotel’s location makes it possible to trek to the Viking Museum on foot, the 750m distance from the Bahnhof is rather farther than one would prefer, especially when one is encumbered by all of one’s baggage on arrival and departure days. And while I loved the F-Ritz and would recommend it to anyone visiting Schleswig, the hotel does present two significant opportunities for improvement. First, breakfast doesn’t begin until 7:30, which is shockingly late (a full hour after most hotels’ breakfast starts) and severely limits one’s options, time wise, on a travel day. Furthermore, the breakfast itself could certainly be better, currently only featuring boiled eggs, not scrambled, and with no Würstchen or Frikadellen accompaniments. Second, the hotel, quite surprisingly, provided no housekeeping — and this was in the suite (!). While one can certainly survive without housekeeping for a three-day stay, it is nevertheless sorely missed (e.g., I had to make do with just two towels for three days, and with no garbage removal).

Breakfast and hotel minibar ( self service) was great. Clean rooms.

Rooms were a bit warm due to poor ventilation.

Spacious, comfortable, super clean, lovely furniture.

The room was light at night, no black-out blinds!
