Churchill hotel Terneuzen

Breakfast was great , and the view is spectacular , location is great as it is walking distance to the old city.

I think for an older Hotel it is run very well , and I cant think of anything that could be improved, except maybe the main entrance could be spruced up a little.

breakfast disappointing , 7.44 and Scrambled eggs and bacon had run out. ended up having the continental . I assume it just needed checking by staff to be topped up but wasn't Was in too much of a hurry to complain or wait for a fresh batch. Poor value for the cost.Also no heating in room , outside temperature was 6 Deg C , highlighted to reception but was told nothing could be done and no one from maintenance was present to be able raise the heating temperature . Very disappointing stay considering the cost of the room

The staff was extremely helpful, and excited to help. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The Churchill is a classic, modern business hotel that is very functional but also very anonymous. My room was a good size, functionally albeit minimally furnished, it was clean, the bathroom was fine and my room was on the quiet side of the building. Staff were friendly and helpful, although at times clearly inexperienced. It is convenient to have a restaurant attached to the hotel, breakfast was good and parking is free. If you just want a straightforward place to stay for the night then the Churchill is for you.

I found the price high for what the hotel offers. For a 4 star accommodation I had hoped for more. It lacks charm and character and the rooms are pretty basically furnished. During the night I was woken by a barely audible yet persistent and oscillating buzzing noise that I could not track down. It prevented me from sleeping properly. Mentioned it when I checked out and was told it would be looked into. Besides this I was disappointed that I had to pay when checking in, despite the hotel having my credit card details. Receptionist could give no explanation for this. Finally, the tv offered only a bare minimum of channels; for the room price I would have expected better.

Breakfast was excellent and very delicious.

The plugs at the coffe machine was not working and had to move the machine to a plug that worked. The provided coffee facilities in the room was not sufficient for the amount of persons booked in the room.Bathroom props was not working.

Hello, overall my stay was good. I found the staff to be very helpful; I forgot my charger at the hotel and contacted them a few days later, and they had found it and sent it to me right away. Communication with them was very smooth and quick. This was a big plus for me, as I haven't experienced the same level of service at other hotels I've stayed at.

The property is in a very good location, in an extremely calm area and easy to access. The rooms were comfortable and wide, and the staff were very helpful. Everything was spotless when I arrived, and the daily service was very much on time every day.

I feel that the hotel is too expensive for what it offers. That's not necessarily a bad thing, perhaps the timing of my booking was bad - but comparatively, feels expensive. During the night a couple times I heard weird noises coming from the climatization system, nothing terrible, but woke me up!

Location was good for our purpose.

We had a handicapped room. Lack of towels and poor water pressure in shower. No coffee in the room just tea. Breakfast was not good, limited choice and scrambled eggs and bacon were cold.

Wonderful location right on the walking/biking path along the water with amazing views of the interesting ship traffic. A short walk to center of town. The staff was very nice. Breakfast was very good.

At the check-in I was promised a room with a view on parking and a little on the boats on the river, but got a different room looking out on the highway....

Second day, when they had a wedding, we waited 1 hour before being even served the 'amuses'. Admitted they were busy, but the service level dropped too low...

So Terneuzen isn’t exactly tourism central, and while I’d probably give the hotel a little less praise if located elsewhere, it’s the absolute best in Terneuzen.- the rooms are spacious, opt for superior rooms for that extra comfort- the staff is very nice- the location is good, for Terneuzen, which doesn’t really have hotels downtown. It’s closest to downtown out of all the available options on booking (hotel ones, there are a few apartments closer). And the walk to downtown is very pleasant, along the seafront - be warned, a charming, but surprising thing on that route is locals greet each other (and you) when they pass, so prepare to say “hallo” a lot on a sunny day :)- the hotel has a nice restaurant if you don’t want to walk the 15 minutes downtown. It has a variety of choice and is quite cheap for a hotel restaurant.- there is also a supermarket like 100m from the hotel, at present it looks like a building site, as they are rebuilding it (August 2023) but don’t make my mistake from the first day, it’s there, in a temporary building in the back.- buses to Middelburg, Ghent, Goes etc stop near the hotel

Well, it is close to downtown, but also far. Close for Terneuzen which for some reason has no hotels in the center, but the walk is 15-20 minutes to the nearest restaurant (except the hotel one), but hey, it’s as good as it gets here. But after Middelburg, with tons of options downtown it was quite a walk to get anywhere. Biking helps ;)

Whilst travelling to the hotel (car) in the afternoon, I was called by a member the hotel staff telling me that the hotel was overbooked. The lady offered me a room in another hotel. On my question whether the hotel was comparable, the answer was "no, it's a (lower grade) 3-star accomodation". This late notice message is not acceptable.
