    Pros +

    • Very nice staff, great breakfast.
    • Our host, the owner (Delia) was extremely welcoming, helpful, and cheerful. This was very nice after a long trip and we stayed two nights. The hotel location was perfect, just a 10 min walk from the train station and a 15 min walk to the ferry. Breakfast was perfect with simple and delicious offerings. The rooms are small yet efficient. Just a note to newcomers: the ownership has changed so the website info is not current. Check-in is at the hotel itself, not across the street. The establishments are separate.
    • Very nicely decorated room with comfortable bed and modern equipment. Nice opaque curtains for a very good night sleep. We were not bothered by the noise of the street. Breakfast was plentiful and conveniently served on the ground floor at the hotel.

    Cons -

    • Just be aware of the steep Dutch style stairs. I am used to it, but not my so. He had definitely some trouble with it. No lift but staff offered help to get suitcases up (and down at checkout)
    • Nothing, all was perfect for us.
    • Couldn’t find WC light switch, seemed to be on sensors? Couldn’t turn it off. Light in shower would turn on as you walk by it. Not fun in the middle of the night as the shower is actually in the room. The stairs are very steep and narrow, we were glad to be on the first floor.

I liked how comfortable the room was and how accessible the personnel is. The room was perfect for one person and offered a nice view of the canal and skyline. Everything was very clean and having a free, personalized breakfast was nice.

Accessing the hotel was a little weird at first with the QR code not always properly working, but they provided you with a card key just in case the QR code refused to work, so that was great. The smoke alarm went off in my room due to water vapor coming from the shower, which I found a little strange, but other than that, no major complaints at all!

The hotel has unusual but very comfortable and warm rooms. The room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast is buffet - no hot choices but more than sufficient for a good start to the day. The hotel does not have a restaurant and is generally unmanned in the evenings (Fridays and Saturdays being the exception when the hotel bar is open), but is located in the town centre so is in very close proximity to bars and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Great staff, service and exceptionally clean and comfy Rooms! Great food and service in the "De Werf Drinks & More" restaurant opposite of the Hotel?!

    7AndrewPosted on: 1-23-2025

    Breakfast was acceptable

Noise from traffic was excessive at busy time probably due to poor double glazing.

Quirky hotel in a convenient location. Secure bike storage round the back of the hotel. De Werf 'Drinks & more' where breakfast was served was good, although across the canal from the hotel. We also had lunch and dinner there

Light in shower was a motion activated - a bit odd. No instructions for Nespresso machine & I had no idea what the different coloured pods were.

Well appointed room. Helpful staff who let us store our bikes even though we’d forgotten to book it (tip: book bike storage as it’s limited in space). Very convenient for the ferry to Texel and good restaurants opposite.

Steep stairs to the upper floor, not a problem for us and quite common in Holland. A bit of noise from the road out the front, but we slept well regardless.

    Location was good.

This is not an Hotel. No lounge no bar. No reception. The breakfast room was in a bar that was only used as a breakfast room. Thing more of a B&B that charges hotel prices

The staff was welcoming and kind. The position was very nice and the bed comfortable. Also the breakfast was good!

There wasn't much attention to detail in the room (ex: the hand towel holder was broken or there was only a very tiny bottle of shower gel for 2 people for two days and no shampoo) and there was no proper space to hang clothes or shower towels.

Good little hotel close to the city centre and just opposite the refurbished shipyards. Great area complete with nice restaurants - classic dishes and good cocktails. There are also a few interesting museums. Especially the Navy Museum is well worth a good long visit. PS. A Pulled Pork Flatbread at Robuust in the city centre is a must (there is also a veggie version).

Located a100m from Willemsoord, so lots of restaurants and other leisure facilities in the area. Comfortable toom with a large balcony overlooking a canal. Airco took a bit of working out, but then worked fine.Breakfast was typically dutch, but with good quality ingredients.

Some better instructions on the room facilities would have been useful.

Clean, quite, has everything you need

Narrow Stairs to go to your room. No elevator available.Breakfast can be better.

The location is close to museums, which was the main reason for our visit. The place generally looks nice. The size of the rooms were decent.

We could not sleep at all due to constant noise from the street and also from other guests, both on the floor above and the staircase. You can hear every single car drive by. Worst sleep we have ever had at any hotel. My partner also said it was a very uncomfortable mattress.

    10LeilaPosted on: 5-24-2024

We loved the nice rooms, the cozy ambiance and the very kind personnel.

There is nothing we did not like

    7AlbertPosted on: 5-13-2024

The hotel has an excellent staff, which also provided calm help fort a problem arisen less than an hour before leaving, helped us organise our trip to Texel, our visit of the maritime museum and was very good in handling the breakfast.

We had a room on the second floor, and found the stairs were too small and too straight. But the balance stays positive.

Nice size and modern rooms; great location relative to the ferries and Willemsoord; excellent breakfast; staff efficient

    8AlistairPosted on: 4-23-2024

    Location, staff and unique

    Stairs to top floor, steep

    8DonaldPosted on: 3-4-2024

Great breakfast. Excellent location. Interesting bar

Shower was prone to leaking into the room, poor design!
