breakfast was very limited, in another words nothing to eat. Not so good cleaning in rooms, some hairs remained in shower room and in bad.
Room was tired and old fashioned, but comfortable.Bathroom was clean and shower was very good.Food was served hot and was tasty.Atmosphere around hotel was all very jovial and had a community feel.
Being woken up by the night receptionist to ask if I was smoking weed - which was a shock because I do not smoke cigarettes and have never tried and recreational drug of any kind.I hasten to add that I work in an industry where drug testing is regular. He then proceeded to bang on other rooms until he found the source. This meant that my rest was broken and I was due to checkout at 0530hrs.
Staff were friendly and helpful and laughed at my joking. Room was larger than I expected, but that was fine.
Hot and cold directions of the taps seemed to be reversed. Inconvenient when you're waiting for the shower to warm up. Toilet seat in the men's bathroom next to the desk should be replaced.
I like the bowling which was i was so pleasantly surprised, and the distance from ferry station to Texel was really helpful
Lack of refrigerator in the room and as well as an air conditioner was so desperate
Their staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location is close to the center of Den Helder and short driving distance to other popular destinations in North Holland.
The hotel is very old and outdated and yet priced as other accommodations in the area. The hotel had no outdoor space to sit or spend time. The garden is overgrown, and they had construction work going on in front of our balcony at 7am!I don't recommend eating their breakfast, too expensive for a low quality meal.
Overall OK but missing hot water kettle/coffee machine/other amenities like dental kit, bath-robe, shower-cap etc.
Outside the room maintenance is low (looks like dumping area for extra items)
The surroundings were nice and green. The big windows of the dining room. Th bowling alley. A spacious room.
Outdated decor. Messy central courtyard. We could hear the upstairs neighbours until quite late at night.
Everything was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our bikes in a secure indoor area. The hotel is a bit quirky as you have to walk through a bowling alley to reach the rooms. It has a slightly dated feel, but is well maintained and feels cared for.
It's a bit far out of town so quite along way to walk to a restaurant. However the hotel restaurant was fine.
I really liked the location and the environment. The courtyard is quite crazy, but very nice. They say that sometimes events are held there. The room was spacious with a balcony. Everywhere is clean and tidy. The staff is very komd and helped us a lot.
Everything is pretty well defined in the previous comments! The hotel really needs renovation. Then this lovely place would become a fancy hotel
Going to Texel we were not able to find any accommodation for 5 persons for 1 nights. We decided to sleep in Den Helder. Location of the hotel was good. Its a big hotel, easy parking and nice spacious room. The hotel has a minigolf, bowling, and restaurant. We didn’t use this.
Its a bit outdated and can use a makeover.Breakfast is 12 per person, we dont eat so much for breakfast so didn’t take this and just wenr to Albert Heijn for smth small.
Nothing special, it was the last minute choise. Food in the restaurant was good
It was dark in the room a bit. The way to room goes through bowling hall, next to some kind of messy hall. Everything seems a little bit outdated
Bowling, food, drinka , location
Not much
The rooms were old and tired the bathrooms were not clean with hair and dirt. The breakfast was very poor and nothing in the way of choice. The hotel in general was very old and dated and fir the price totally not worth the €157 charge for one nights stay. I will not ever stay there again.
the staff was charming and the mess everywhere was enjoyable !
the rooms were a little basic but confortable
friendly staff. The place is very large with a atrium and stage indoor crazy gold and a bowling alley. Rooms were spacious and clean
The room was a good size with a balcony and it was clean. The onsite bar was good in the evening as the town is not too close. Good bike parking and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
There was no tea/coffee facilities in the room
The staff at The Den Helder were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was OK, it was reasonably limited options but the fresh bread-rolls were nice and the cheese was good. Dinner options were quite varied with lots of home-cooked options.
The rooms were a little bit tired. There were two beds in my room, one bed was comfortable but the second one had an uncomfortable mattress; however I was travelling alone so it did not matter.Breakfast was OK but seems to be quite an expensive addition to a room rate that was already quite high.
Very close to centrum. The room is big and nice.
The room was very cold. We really didn't enjoy to be outside the bed because of that.
