    Pros +

    • Just a few miles from the airport but off the main roads so quiet setting. Restaurant and Pub on site with excellent food and service.
    • Nice old building gives you good first impressions.
    • Lovely traditional rooms, nice grounds to walk around, food was exceptional!

    Cons -

    • Some jackwagon decided to smoke a cigar in our hallway - staff responded quickly to open windows and spray air freshener
    • The restaurant was closed but we ate in the bar next to the fire & it was good
    • Most staff were very friendly, however one man who was working behind the bar and the manager that day told us and other families staying in the hotel, to go to our rooms if we wanted to watch the rugby with sound - Ireland vs Italy. They have a big projector screen to watch it on and everyone in the bar area were watching it. But we were all told very rudely that the sound can’t be put on and if we wanted sound to go to our rooms. We had to get a taxi to near by pub to watch the matches and had food elsewhere for lunch. Very disappointed! Also no entertainment for valentines night, the pub has a lovely piano in the centre of the room and it would have been really special to have some live music played in that area. Or a singer/ band to enhance the experience. Missing out on entertainment in the hotel.

    Disappointing

I had multiple issues, I wrote to the hotel afterwards in detail and got an apology for 4 separate incidents where they did not fulfil basic requirements. Empty shower gel, not replenished after asking.TV didn't work, not fixed as promised.Requested sandwich with my soup for lunch, it never came.Etc, etcNo compensation offered.

    Breakfast

The cigarette smell in our room and corridor & we could hear the banging of the bed from the room upstairs from us.

    5CamillaPosted on: 2-7-2026

    Room was very clean

Breakfast was poor, very little options, no pastries available, hot buffet was mediocre

    Huge and very comfy bed!

The pool and sauna ( and changing rooms) could do with a bit of an upgrade.

The location and staff were excellent - a very nice welcolme, and a very confortable room.

In the morning, the heating hadn't been turned on in the breakfast room, so it was cold! Just an oversight, and these things happen!

Nothing at all about this experience was positive.

The reception staff including the manager where Gruff and unapproachable regarding my complaint about a broken bed.

Staff were fantastic friendly welcoming most food waa beautiful. The comfort of the beds was perfect.

Breakfast room was freezing cold. The fry breakfast was cold by the time you got back to the seat. The rooms need some tlc. Tandoori chicken wings were curry chicken wings and not very nice

The food and breakfast were superb excellent and all the staff were so friendly.

The breakfast room was too cold and could have done with some heat turned on.

Food was good and it is convenient to the airport.

The bed was much too hard so a good night's sleep was impossible.

The GF toasted sandwiches and GF crisps.

Stayed for 2 nights and myself and my sister wished after one night that we could have left and we did contemplate it. Firstly, It was too far out in the remote countryside with dangerous roads, twists and bends. Very young children are left running around the bar distributing guests while they are trying to relax and have a meal. No supervision from parents, and staff turned a blind eye to it. The remote control would not work, so we had to get another one as the volume was stuck on 7. Arrived at night and had to wait ages for check in after travelling for hours, tired. Other guests banging doors and talking loudly on the corridor. Heating was fixed so the room was roasting. When other guests above or next door (not sure exactly) turn on their water you can hear the loud annoying noise from that. Breakfast was awful, very little Gluten Free choice and the beans were runny and I had egg shells in the eggs. This was said to the lady who was lovely about it and didn't charge us. The pillow was like a rock, terribly uncomfortable and the bed is the width of a gurney. Overall it would be a no, no, no. I can't imagine why someone would choose this hotel for a wedding or a special event especially given the aesthetics of the outside. No shower in the bathroom, a bath only. I wouldn't recommend or return. Very disappointed

20 mins from the airport, we were travelling from Dublin airport so nice and easy.

The mattress made a noise every time I moved, I had very little sleep

Lovely grounds , room was comfortable and warm

No lift, but staff very helpful and took my case upstairs for me

    7LindaPosted on: 10-24-2025

Location, pub on site, good food

Noises at night with doors slamming No charging hubs

The staff was very helpful! We didn’t feel like driving into Dublin and fighting traffic and they gave us some great suggestions on how to get around it.

It was a little challenging to get around if you didn’t have a car. It would have been great if they had some kind of shuttle service. They were great at ordering us a taxi when we did need it though. The staff was great and very accommodating.

We weren't able to go to breakfast as our flight itinerary changed at the last minute and we had to leave 3 hours earlier than expected and before the hotel started serving breakfast. Would appreciate getting a refund from Booking.com for the €30.00.
