- We booked this for our last night in Ireland coming back from a wedding in Donegal before the Dublin ferry next day. Hotel was a little gem. Had dinner there which was delicious and breakfast was fab. Room was comfy and spotless. Staff were lovely. Good sports pub over the road where the barman kindly put the Newcastle match on for us
- Clean, good location, comfortable bed, good breakfast, personable staff.
Cons -
- The dinner was ok but not up standard a bit cold
- Everything was great really only slight thing was we couldnt access prime or netflix on room tv (we have the accounts) because telly wasnt updated enough so screen was dark and black and white and couldnt make out the characters but if that was fixed would be absolutely perfect x
- Not a huge gripe, but if you’re staying on a Friday or Saturday night, request a room at the back of the hotel as the streetside can get noisy with bar patrons, especially after close.

Room was clean and comfortable. Private parking behind hotel. Breakfast included in room price. Pleasant staff. Lovely food in restaurant for dinner.
Vey clean, staff very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent
The heat in room was very slow to work
Great location, great staff, nice breakfast and good value for money
Well priced for single traveller ..staff and food excellent
No issue with hotel for me .. I would have liked to be able to contact/ call via what's app as my mobile package does not allow international calls .
The staff were super friendly, the food was very tasty and the room was spotless.
The bar food was a small bit overpriced and the corridors and bathroom was a little small but still manageable.
Great wee hotel clean and warm. Very helpful staff and good breakfast.
Only a small issue but not great for those with health issues as no lift. Thankfully as asked we were put in one of the nearest rooms at top of the stairs.
Food was lovely, beds rooms upgraded since last time I stayed there. Staff were very nice.
Hairdryer didn't work
Hotel staff and food was top class
There have been other guests who make noise all night long. Both fighting in the street and in the corridor doors. And in the rooms and no-one tryid to stop it
The friendly of the staff once we arrived was spectacular. The food was excellent
The view from the bedroom did not like we were looking out on the roof of the kitchen and the noise we did not like
The breakfast was delicious. and the staff we so friendly and accommodating.
Everything. From the check in staff to the restaurant staff, everyone was exceptionally polite and helpful
Staff very friendly and helpful especially the young lady who was working in the bar on Friday 21st.
Excellent location for my purposes. Breakfast was freshly cooked and superb. Came across a small little lake with swans on a morning stroll.
Breakfast and other food was lovely and plenty of it. Staff were lovely and helpful.
While we weren't really affected this time, another person was. When booking you may want to ask to be given.a room in certain areas of the hotel as some rooms are very noisy with sound of generator or something outside. It can be very loud which we had experienced on a previous stay. We asked not to be put in that room this time and the staff member was fine with that and I got the impression it wasn't the 1st time had been asked. That would be the only thing I had issue with..
I have stayed many times even prior to the new owners visiting family and held mine and my husband's 60th birthday parties there, my late Mams 90th birthday party and other occasions as both of us come from Bailieborough and Shercock area. The service and friendly welcome is unbelievable and the food was absolutely delicious and so happy the new owners have continued this trend. They have completely refurbished the rooms and I have stayed in many of the top hotels in Ireland and abroad and can honestly say the Bailie is on par with all of them. The one pet hate I've always had was that many hotels provide those horrible standard bath towels and I've always brought my own bath sheet but The Bailie new modern accommodation provides the lovely fluffy bath sheets couldn't believe it. Congratulations all round and wish the hotel every success.
The only thing I can think of , and a must for guests with mobility issues, the installation of a lift. Personally I need too use a lift but here again the fabulous staff on reception, Alex and Andrea in particular were able to accommodate me and I really appreciate it
Staff were friendly and there was a great atmosphere all around. A special thank you to the night porter.
Breakfast menu was disappointing given there was no choice of cereals/porridge/ yogurts/fruits/juices on breakfast menu which is normally included in b/b package.
location suited workBreakfast was good
got no sleep last night. bed was made for a 5ft man
Room was fresh and spotlessly cleanBreakfast was good
It was a little hard to find staff to check in / check out or to ask where breakfast was. This is probably due to the renovation work that is ongoing at the minute
