Hotel Plaza

The hotel is located at a walking distance from both the main station and the old city centre, in a calm neighbourhood and next to a museum. The staff is very kind, the rooms are big & clean, and the beds comfortable.

The room was perfectly furnished and big, the underground car park was small but OK. About 500 meters to the train station and about 500 meters to the shopping arcade if you want it. If I work in this area again I will try to book this exact hotel again.

Easy to reach the hotel and very pleasant staff at the reception. I liked the windows and the possibility to stand and see the street and see the museum nearby, it's close to the main attractions ion the center.

The paid bottle of water. There was no complementary water. Not a fan of the shower gel personally. I would prefer a soap option for hands.Smell of sewage at the reception and entrance.

Very nice hotel, very friendly staff and they accommodated my dog very well. No complaints at all. I will be coming again!

The staff and breakfast were top notch. The pool and spa excellent. Location was great. Parking available on site. Shower was good.

The bed. The sheets came out every night. You couldn't put the 2 mattresses together as they were different heights and moved; so you slipped in between them. Two of the main lights didnt work.

Don't expect a very romantic hotel, just a very decent and well located hotel near a park around the Lehmbruck museum

The rooms are quite dated, in particular the bathrooms (4th floor). There is no safe in the room.

Pillows need to be changed, not very comfortable and very big.

Bathrooms could use a face lift, towels too small, breakfast costed separately and was not mentioned, only one elevator

On the plus side, the staff were really nice, it is a short walk to the city centre for some bars and restaurants, the breakfast was great, brilliant selection of mainly cold food, but there are some hot food of scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon.

I was only told of the building work after I booked and was immediately impacted when I arrived as I was told that the work is still ongoing and the air con wasnt working in my room/block.It was a hot day in Duisberg and equally as hot in my room, I asked and was provided with a Fan that didnt make a big difference and actually had a bad nights sleep.I also booked a superior double room, but it looked like all I got was 2 single beds pushed together.There was no booklet in the room explaining about facilities, opening times and other information about the hotel and or local surroundings, which is what you should expect in a cheap hotel, but this is a 4 star hotel.I also forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste, they were able to supply me with the toothbrush, but not the toothpaste, again which is something I would expect in a 4 star hotel.There was no iron and ironing board in the room, which was also poor.When I arrived into the room, as normal there was a mini bar, but outside the minibar on the ledge was a tray with 2 bottles of water, 2 packet of peanuts and a small bottle of red wine, to my surprise and after eating the peanuts, I asked the reception and they confirmed that all of this is chargeable, which I understand about the wine, and maybe the peanuts, but to not supply bottled water as standard, was very surprising for me and again not specifically mentioned, otherwise I would not have had the peanuts.

The location was fantastic to get into the city centre, just on the edge with about a 5 minute walk.

Due to the renovations we were not informed about until the day before our trip. Very noisy and loss of power, key cards to rooms had to be reset due to this. Also not clear on the booking, but no coffee facilities in all the rooms which is standard in most hotels which shocked me.

Great location in a quiet street but close to everything. Breakfast is good and rooms are very cozy

The staff were very accommodating and our room was very clean. We also had the benefit of secure underground parking.

There was building work going on when we got there on one particular floor so we asked to move and they were happy to move us elsewhere.

Clean and very big room. Amazing breakfast (buffet with a lot of choice). Helpfull staff.
