Central Hotel Duisburg

This budget hotel right by the Duisburg main train station exceeded my expectations. We had to split our travel overnight from the Netherlands to Heidelberg, Germany to be in Heidelberg on time for a business meeting, so we were simply looking for a decent and inexpensive hotel right by the train station. This was it! It was cute/updated, very clean, and easy to check in and out of. [In fact, we arrived at 11 pm and departed before 7 am, so we didn't interact with any humans, and it was so easy due to very good directions from human- and auto-generated emails from the hotel staff.] I was prepared for a subpar experience but it was surprisingly nice for the location and the price.

It wasn't the price it said on booking. They made us pay extra. I rented two rooms but they took money from us for the child and it said the child was free.

I liked the location, 5 minutes from the Main Train Station.The Room was basic but adequate as expected for the price.A good, spacious and clean Bathroom and Shower and the bed was comfortable enough.Although close to the Station, my room was quiet and no disturbances from other guests.WLAN was fine.

Hoped (and asked for) a Room on the Ground or First floor but was given a Room on the second floor.No elevator so not comfortable to carry suitcases up the narrow, steep stairs.I would have appreciated a Kettle for boiling water to make Tea or Coffee ... but none provided. Two cups, yes but nothing else!

The price

Dirty bathroom walls very dusty, hair in shower, mattress need upgrade urgently, really bad mattress, fridge dirty, the place itself was ok location wise, but the rooms really need an upgrade I didn't sleep at all due to the mattress being very uncomfortable to sleep in. I won't come to this place again.

Cleanliness - was not dirty, but not really clean either. Equipment worn out.The bed was far too soft - rather a hammock than a bed

Everything nice.A last minute booking late at night and we Receiced directly all the instructions for easy access.The room clean and comfortable.

Good location near the Duisburg station room was big and clean

No elevator so you have to carry ur luggage and bag by yourself

Central location, old rooms could be cheaper other than that does the job for nightly stay close to hbf

Clean and modern, staff very friendly and excellent location right next to Duisburg train station and city centre.

Well, nothing really, you get a kettle and cup in the room but no coffee or tea to make with it which is a new one on me.

Great location near the station and a ten minute walk from the main centre of Duisburg.

The stairs were a bit difficult for me but I did know about the lack of a lift. The woman who checked us in did give us a first floor room. Had a bit of difficulty accessing the property which seemed very closed up on arrival.

Central location was excellent.

Cockroaches in my room and when I arrived no one could speak English.

Good and clean place with wonderful reception and staffs. With this price, it exceeds my expectation. Location perfect and I will stay here once again in case of travelling to the Duisburg.

Location is good and the rooms are clean. Roomy room and bathroom.

Very noisy, I could the conversation in the adjacent room to a word. Cold in the room, the curtains did not fully block the window and the tv did not work.
