    Pros +

    • The ethos, the generosity, the tussie mussie, the fabulous garden, the best spa treatment I have ever had, the attitude of the staff, the breakfast - everything.
    • One of the most incredible experiences of our lives! Our stay was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed every single activity the hotel offered—from bread-baking classes to the cellar tour, yoga and many others activities. Our room was amazing, it even had a heated bathroom floor! The variety of restaurants, with their incredible food and wine, was also a highlight. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are so cozy, but the highlight for us was the kindness of the entire Babylonstoren team. They were all so special and friendly. We are especially grateful for the thoughtful surprises they prepared for our honeymoon. We can't wait to come back!Fernanda and Filipe
    • Our stay was phenomenal. We loved every minute of it. All details, from the activities, to the rooms, to the spa, are very well thought of. Would highly recommend.

    Cons -

    • We just felt the menu was not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. We loved that everything came from the garden but the portions were huge and all the greenery was hard work chewing. Red starter delicious but green starter not.
    • Nothing. We can’t wait to come back. It’s by far our favorite hotel we’ve ever been to and we travel a lot.
    • Breakfast spread was excellent but too crowded and chaotic. It took 30-40 mins each morning to get a coffee (crazy)!! They should have 2 breakfast sites and put on more baristas!

Fabulous accommodation and gardens. The garden tour was very interesting, we saw things that we’d never have discovered by ourselves. Gargantuan portions in the restaurant. We needed to leave early on the last day to get to the airport and we were given a packed breakfast which was a veritable feast. Only thing we would have preferred was not to have set menus. As a coeliac, I was very well catered for with gluten-free options

We got the two bedroom cottage - it’s like having your own house. All the complimentary tours the hotel offers are amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is insane, fresh, delicious. There are three pools, incredible walks, chickens roaming around. Every day at 5 pm someone knocks on your door to offer you an amuse bouche and in the morning they re-stock your fresh fruit in the room from the orchard. We even had two days of rain and we had the best time.

Nothing. We can’t wait to come back. It’s by far our favorite hotel we’ve ever been to and we travel a lot.

We had a lovely room, very private despite the large size of the complex. Would recommend cycling and running around the gardens and vines - beautiful! Mountain drive is wonderful and our guide Kobus was very good. Water Buffalo trip was super interesting. Angie in the restaurant was lovely too. Rosco’s wine tasting - super entertaining. Overall staff were very good.

One of the most beautiful locations we've visited. Spectacular views, gorgeous room, incredible service. The food was divine. We will absolutely be back.

The staff were wonderful, friendly and enthusiastic, it always seemed like they enjoy their work and that they are invested in the place. It was so great to see. Also, so much attention to detail in the decor.

The Fynbos cottages are amazingly comfortable and feel so private. The food and staff were exceptional as always.

If you travel with small children or babies know that the floors in the cottages creak a lot and you basically hear every sound you make in the whole house.

The staff was very supportive. The location is unbelievable. The garden tour was fantastic. The restaurant was great.

    Nothing negative.

As always it is a a real treat to stay at this beautiful hotel and gardens.

have stayed at the hotel, twice before, in different cottages. This being my third. It was very busy being Easter Weekend, with lots of day visitors, I just felt that everyone was very busy, and you had to queue for everything that you were not able to book for, example lunch spots. It felt a bit rushed in everything that you did, in order to get the next bunch of people through. The waiters while very good were rushed and would not be as attentive as before, reminding them that we had ordered water. The bathrooms had no soap next to the two baths. Only 2 cream lotions, and no soap in the shower. The only soap was next to the basin. The shower only had body liquid soap. Nothing to wash yourself next to the baths. The bread making course, was actually just putting stuff onto bread that was already made. Which felt like a letdown, when you actually wanted to learn how to make bread not just throw some toppings on it. The lady who ran the course was wonderful and super helpful to any questions answered. With the money spent on the room, the meals, the wine and in the shop, we could have gone abroad. But as i say maybe it was just because it was the Easter weekend. As have always loved staying and will visit again.

Loved the farm feel, fresh produce and friendly professional staff. The accommodation was superb with easy access to the gardens. Biking around to see the vines and garden was amazing.

    10ChristophPosted on: 12-20-2023

Firstly, the staff (especially Warren & Constance) who are extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. Secondly, the food is amazing and most importantly all from local produce. The accommodation and facilities are unpretentious and first-class. Loved everything about this stay and wished to have stayed 1-2 days longer.

    Absolutely nothing to complain about.

It was amazing. Wish i could have stayed longer

The seats in front of the fireplace were horrid. Plastic seats so uncomfortable…really wanted to enjoy the fireplace during the cooler nights..but plastic seats made it impossible
