Pros +
- the staff and the food were excellent! Both restaurants off of the lobby offered spectacular views of Tabletop and Lion's Head mountains with great sunsets.
- The breakfast was delicious and the room was spacious. Really like the bathrooms also. Staff was responsive when we had a few issues with our room.
- The room was very neat and quiet, and your breakfast was very good at an open area with the beautiful view of the ocean. Thanks
Cons -
- Rooms are a bit tired especially the carpets. Also the noise level from the public access beach parking lot was extremely loud with traffic, horns, garbage trucks and loud people at all hours of the night. I booked a full sea facing room and the balcony overlooked the pool and the parking lot
- Our air conditioner didn't work but staff was responsive and came quickly. Unable to fix it that day but appreciate the quick response.

The view of the ocean
The staff is friendly. The service is good. The room is kept clean. Breakfast is value for money. The location of the hotel ??
The R950. 00 for Christmas lunch. And STILL had to pay for the drinks during lunch... And no mutton?Pork was put in one dish with the sliced turkey.Have a halal station. Even for breakfast. As much as I was told you source your meat from a halal-certified supplier, I took it with a pinch of salt.I understand your guests are from a over, but respect the enough to give them options.Thank you.Work on the R950 lunch. It is not that deep, like our kids say
The room and views were nice. Almost all rooms are beach facing. From pool and some rooms you get spectacular view of Table mountain. The location in this term was great
The location in terms of access to anything is not great. You need to drive for 20 min minimum to reach Checkers, or downtown etc
Being on the beach, good restaurant, and comfortable rooms. Had shuttle to waterfront. Views from pool/restaurant were amazing
Shuttle was hard to get for return trip to hotel. Always full, so had to take a taxi.
Proximity to the ocean, the staff was really nice and professional. We extended our stay by 2 more days and were moved to a higher room without having to checkout first
Just me being picky, shower floors may need more scrubbing, but they are just ok.
The hotel is run professionally with a friendly and helpful (and abundant!) staff. The security in the hotel was very good and we felt entirely safe while on the grounds. The food I ordered from the menus in the restaurants was very good, but not always fast. If you are not in a hurry and willing to linger and enjoy the beautiful views from the restaurants, it is fine (note that I did not sign up for breakfast buffet which I expect is much faster due to self-service nature, and it looked quite good and extensive). There are several pools onsite, and one of them is a rooftop pool right next to the health center-very peaceful. The pool next to bar/restaurant is also nice. The concierge and all staff were generally very customer focused.
1. There is no onsite shop for toiletries, gifts/souvenirs, or in room snacks - this is just a convenience that some people appreciate. 2. My room was switched from a 2 BR apartment to a single room, as I was persuaded this would be better since apartments do not have air conditioning. It was no easy task to return to the room I originally requested, but eventually it was worked out (thanks to extreme efforts of a particular staff person). However, I was required to pay the higher rate for ALL nights in the hotel, not just the nights I stayed in the higher price room. 3. If you are staying for business which is in the city center, be warned the morning commute is much traffic and allow additional time.
I liked that the housekeeping, roomservice, hotel reception and bar area teams were so great.
The only issue was that the rotating receptionists at the apartments(self catering) side of the hotel were not friendly, asking them questions about directions or other services felt like pulling teeth.
Lovely location on beach. The room was cleaned every day
Very noisy. The outside pool was broken when we were there. Breakfast was a bit rough. Very cheap products being used
Rooms and staff
TV not working
All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend getting breakfast included. Sonya our waitress was so pleasant and went out of her way to take care of us. And the view from our balcony where we could see Table mountain and the ocean was beautiful.
The room (339) was dated and need of considerable upgrades. The air conditioning didn’t work. The curtains were old and didn’t slid easy. The refrigerator cabinet retained heat. No plug outlets in the dated bathroom. Television only had local stations (not even Netflix). On the bright side there are so many activities to do in Cape Town that you really only need to sleep and shower in the room.
Apartments are spacious and clean. check-in process is also easy and efficient. Staff keep you informaed of everything going on and pro-active.
Wifi is slow at peak times
Wonderful staff, smiles and helped navigate the area.
The privacy and noise free as I stayed at the apartment, free shuttle to the malls & roomService

Staff behavior and restaurant staff behavior
Loved the view- was nice being so close to the beach. Security and door staff were lovely.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was very outdated and the windows and doors were all rusty. It was spacious! My negatives were: the beds. I honestly have never slept in such an uncomfortable bed in my life. Rock hard. Our apartment was right by the entrance to the apartments. Every night drunk people returned to their apartments waking up us and the kids. Loud screams and banging could be heard every night till around 2am. Then the cleaning staff all waited outside our apartment at around 7am making very loud noises. The front pool was broken so we were unable to use the deck and pool which was disappointing and were not informed before coming. I think this used to be a wonderful hotel. However now its main function are work functions and parties. Stay here if you don’t want to sleep and won’t be bothered about drunks at 2am. For us, we were a family so would not recommend this hotel at all.
Room was very clean, nice and spacious, breakfast was excellent with loads of variety even for people with dietary requirements.
On arrival there was an event, that was quite noisy, there were tables set up in the walkways and dirty dishes, once we were in the room it was fine but not a great experience to walk through that. The next morning there was a very noisy conference. I just think guests should be warned at the time of booking so that they can make an informed decision.
View was spectacular. Room was great, apartment was below standard.
Comparison between room and apartment.
Location, friendly staff, great restaurants, clean rooms
The in-room phone didn’t work, and the balcony door didn’t open
