    Pros +

    • The owner was very nice and friendly and the rooms were well equipped and very clean. Lovely Biergarten and nice looking restaurant- which we sadly did not find the time to try.
    • Lovely room - good sized, well litParking was really easy, just outside the hotelGood location - 5 minute walk into town, restaurants etc.
    • The owner of the hotel stayed up to meet us quite late in the evening, and we had a very comfortable night with safe parking, which was important as we were travelling back to the UK from Poland with all our belongings

    Cons -

    • Was a bit pricey but that was the same in all hotels in Bielefeld this weekend - not sure why.
    • Shower was way too hot - you'd be scalded if you didn't check it firstWe booked really late so they weren't expecting us but it all got sorted!Shared car park with a little supermarket: we usually try & get a private parking space if we can. But it was very easy to park and we got a space just below our room so could keep an eye on the car
    • When we stayed here for the first time, the water in the shower was cold, we had to turn the temperature to maximum, not to freeze; the second time, in another room the water was so hot that we had to do exactly the opposite. The bed has this uncomfortable gap in between the mattresses

The parking area is shared by a small supermarket and didn't feel particularly safe for a motorcycle. The room was fairly basic but clean. The host was a lovely guy and the restaurant was excellent.

Parking right in front of the entrance (many hotels in Bielefeld do not have private parking at all), convenient check-in and check-out time so you don't have to hurry. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel - it is always quiet, cozy and clean, the stuff is friendly

The staff were friendly and helpful. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was available. We were able to park with a roof box on the car. It was a short walk from the old town.Bielefeld is not a top tourist destination but if you need to be there, this is a good place to stay.

The exterior of the building belies the interior. It seems to be a bit of a dull former industrial building in a less than attractive commercial area, however inside the hotel the rooms are lovely, bright, super-clean and modern. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel with a tree shaded external patio where we enjoyed a delicious evening meal on a quiet Sunday evening. Breakfast was in the indoor part of the restaurant and was reasonable. There is ample free parking right next to the hotel entrance which is very convenient. Town centre is in walking distance and we had intended to do that walk, but somehow after supper and a delicious draught German beer at the restaurant we no longer felt like it.Next day however we drove to the Sparrenberg Castle and enjoyed a lovely walk round it with view of the town, and a coffee on the Castle cafe terrace and then a further walk around the meticulously kept and beautifully laid out Botanic Gardens here which are surprisingly free to visit. Bielefeld is not on the main tourist route, but we enjoyed our day here very much - chosen because it was a Monday when it seems all German museums are shut but these two sights were not.

There is no connection between the hotel and restaurant - you have to go outside and the length of the two buildings - but no problem as long as it is not raining , ts only 100 m or so.Hotel does not accept debit cards, only credit cards which are not issued automatically by our banks. Owner apparently doesn’t agree with banks charging him a fee for transactions. He is of course entitled to feel this way.

    Pleasant

My room was the farthest from the entrance and the WiFi reception was really bad. This was quite annoying as I needed to use internet for work. In addition, check out was a nightmare. Beside the fact that the restaurant where the check out has to be done closed before the time I was told, I left my billing information when I arrived with the agreement that I would have the bill ready at the time of payment. Obviously, this was not done and I had to waste a lot of time to pay making me late for a business appointment.

Pretty big room with a modern en suite bathroom. Bed was comfortable and clean. Location was fine and quiet.

Staff didn't speak a word of English, which made communication a tad more difficult. (Though it worked out in the end.) Also, roomservice came in without warning while we were still in bed.

    8SannePosted on: 7-31-2023

The beds were good, the room was clean and the breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly.

The breakfast was a bit expensive. I would have preferred it if breakfast was already included.

    8AndrewPosted on: 1-22-2023

Spacious room and bathroom and staff were very helpful. Clean & comfortable room and no hassle with our stay. Perfect location for our needs.

    9NiamhPosted on: 10-31-2022

The staff were great and the room was clean and very comfortable. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere affordable and clean. The hotel restaurant was excellent.

The location is within walking distance of a lot of things. There are not a lot of cafés etc in the immediate area, so if you want coffee and a pastry you will need to use the store behind the hotel.

Short and comfortable stay, good breakfast and evening meal, near city center and all facilities

    8FernandoPosted on: 8-28-2022

Parking, supermarket on the other side of the road, staff friendliness, bed comfort, large shower, TV, easy access.

A bit noisy (road traffic) until midnight; weak Internet. No A/C

    4Johnny H.Posted on: 8-12-2022

The room was clean, and the windows shielded from the noise from the road.

We chose this hotel specifically because Booking.com showed us that there was a restaurant with dinner and breakfast. When we arrived after 11 hours of driving, we were told that the restaurant was closed and there was a 15 minutes walk to the center where we could find something to eat. Also, there was no breakfast, which meant that we had to go to the local supermarket (where the coffee machine was broken) to get a couple of buns to eat on the go.Also, many other places are cheaper and includes breakfast.

Very much liked the nearness to a grocery shop. Also it is not far from the train station. It’s within a walking distance

The rooms are extremely too close to the street such that it is very noisy when the window is opened. The noise of people walking past and cars in the street make it uncomfortable. Moreso someone can easily jump into the rooms on the ground floor or even wound someone inside when the window is open.

We were travelling from Poland to France and decided to stay in this hotel for a night, so no huge expectations. However, the hotel turned out to be really good, very helpful and nice personnel, one of the comfiest beds I ever slept on at the hotel (even took a picture of a matrass). The room was quite big, the shower is great, 2 bottles of beer as a welcome drink. Also, free parking lot was on point for us since we were travelling by car.Additionally, we had a dinner at a hotel's restaurant and they served reaaaally good steaks, don't miss out to try.

Will stay on the way back, nothing to dislike.

Small hotel/ few rooms. Personable service, once you spend a little with the lovable owner. Easy parking. Nice, sizable, clean rooms. Very safe area ( close to Police HQ. Nice old, converted brick building, etc. Will certainly try to come back…

We like quite! If you need crowds, this ain’t for you.
