    Pros +

    • Well situated, easy parking, friendly reception, very good breakfast (if rather more expensive than expected)
    • Quiet and clean rooms
    • Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable beds, price is good. No problems finding a parking spot on the parking lot behind the hotel. Regarding the location: it’s next to a highway which makes it an ideal stop en-route. We used the hotel to visit to visit some touristic attractions in the area. That works out well if you have a car.

    Cons -

    • The soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathroom and the shower are poorly designed. If they could be detached from their holders they would be OK. At present almost impossible to use
    • The parking situation was absolutely unacceptable. Due lack parking spaces provided I needed to drive about .5 miles to a detached (from the hotel building) parking lot. Their advertising didn’t not reveal this. Since I have back problems and cannot walk easily I will make a note if this. The staff showed no compassion about having to drive this far.
    • Room was a bit narrow

Housekeeping waking you up at 9am on a Sunday morning, for a one night stay (instead of waiting after checkout). Never experienced this before!

Good hotel to stay for 1 nigh as a stop over during long journey. Room and the bathroom were ok, although improvement needed on cleanliness. Exceptionally good breakfast, definitely worth extra to be paid.

The hotel is close to the highway, the personnel is friendly and efficient.

It is difficult to park, the hotel is a bit dated and could use a renovation.

Have to think carefully about what I liked. The building looks nice from the outside?

Chaotic lounge and entrance hall. Giant door to go through to get to your room (I guess to manage noise from the hall?). Only one set of towels for a room of 2 (1 small, 1 big)? Slow staff, did not greet while our arrival was obvious. No conditioner? Some fungus in the shower. Extremely cheap gaussian-pixelated image of the Mediterranean sea in the shower -- why? Am I supposed to feel sad that I'm in Ratingen, and life is better elsewhere? The cheapest matrasses in IKEA are better than this hotel, I recommend sleeping on the floor.

The beds are very comfortable, and it was an excellent breakfast

The rooms were extremely hot because there was no air conditioning.

Very good room and nice people working at the hotel.

The pillows should be more big and hard.

I loved people that work there hovewer it's not a 4-star hotel. People were very nice and everybody was perfect but rooms, bathroom, breakfast, facilities, restaurant, parking was as per 3-star hotel. However they charge for 4-star hotel. So, if you agree to pay like for 4-star hotel but finally you stop in 3-star hotel it is a perfect choice. I would say it's a perfect 10/10 3-star hotel!

The place is OK, I was only one night so for me it was enough.

I recommend replacing the beds and soundproofing the walls, unfortunately I heard the noises from behind the wall during sexual activities of my neighbours. The bed creaked terribly because of which I could not sleep for long time....

The location was good for my stay and free hotel parking. Had kettle and instant coffee in room, which was great.

No air conditioning, room had a bit of a smell of dumb coming from shower, pillow was very small, more like a small cushion, not a pillow to sleep on. That's not what I was expecting from 4* hotel.

    7AnnePosted on: 6-28-2024

Conveniently placed hotel between Essen and Dusseldorf. Quiet property, with nice breakfast. The small 'Pont' restaurant in front of the hotel is excellent!

The smell of the room, we were not sure if it was cigarette smell, the odd smell of some cleaning product or simply the smell of the carpet in such room... It is a bit surprising upon entering the room, but did not bother us more after five minute.

    3MazinanPosted on: 2-7-2024

The hallway leading up to my room smelled badly of cigarette and the hotel has the scam mentality.

Several places in the hotel smelled of cigarettes, especially in the hallway leading up to our room. There was a water in the room which cost €4.80 as part of the minibar. Room service took our water after I had only drunk a little of it and replaced it with a new one. I see it as a scam and spoke to reception about it and they said it was part of their policy. €4.80 is no money but a principle for me, so I will never visit their hotel or recommend them.
