Hotel La Quercia

One of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had while traveling.The host’s attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful from the very beginning.In many messages, he wrote in Italian and sometimes even in all caps that cannot be translated in the booking system , despite me clearly saying that I don’t speak the language. His tone was arrogant, cold and completely lacking empathy.I had informed him in advance about a late-night arrival. Instead of understanding that, he cancelled my reservation before the agreed check-in time, while I was still at Bergamo Airport — leaving me stranded in the middle of the night.To make things worse, the location shown on Booking.com was incorrect — it displayed the hotel as 17 minutes on foot from Bergamo Airport, while it’s actually around 12 km away. I have screenshots confirming this display error.When I tried to explain the situation politely, the host refused to cooperate and even mentioned extra late check-in fees that were never listed anywhere in the property information.Later, instead of showing any regret, he publicly twisted facts and tried to blame me.Fortunately, Booking.com reviewed the case, acknowledged the host’s fault and refunded me in full. They also confirmed that they will take appropriate action against the property.I travel a lot, and this was the first time I encountered such rude and dishonest behavior from an accommodation owner.Travelers deserve honesty, empathy and professionalism — none of which exist here.

Room (for 1 person in my case) with all the necessary for my stay (2 nights). Good temperature in the room. Reception closing at 00.00, but possible to request keys if it would be necessary to enter after that time (not needed in my case). Breakfast available, even though I haven’t used as I had already plans. Perfect balance cost/quality. I would definitely come back.

Worst stay in a while

Tiny room. Horrible mattress and bed. Old fashioned bathroom with no proper door to the room, just a foldable one. Terrible sound proofing. Breakfast was a joke, just some store bought croissants.

Disappointing

I was expecting more for my money. It is more two stars than three stars hotel. Long away from the city center. Breakfast was a joke.

It was veru handy for stopping en route to our final destination. There is a fantastic sushi restaurant nect door to the hotel that was open until late . The guy at the reception didn’t speak any English but he was very friendly and managed to explain rules etc.

Check in closes at 22.00 and for some reason it’s not possible to check in after that, even although the hotel reception is open until midnight ! This was an adrenaline rush for us as we landed at Bergamo airport at 20.20 , had to queue at car rental desk for a while and then find the car and direction to the hotel . We got to the hotel at 21.50 !

Breakfast was good, but lacking fresh and savoury options. Very easy to reach Orio al Serio Airport.

The hotel is quite old and feels a bit run down. The staff is kind and helpful, but the hotel itself would really do with a makeover. There is also not much to do around, walking distance. Just a couple of eateries. It's the kind of place you would only go to sleep before a flight from Orio

There was a good bus service which suited me. The staff were very friendly.The staff went out of their way to make sure that I could get to the train station when there was industrial action. Very good break.

Avoid using taxi from Bergamo train station. There is a bus number 8 that takes you close to the hotel

VERY nice and helpful administration! Clean room, enough fresh and extremely white towels for two people. Everything you need for shower, including hats. Warm and comfortable room. Very good coffee for breakfast. Also it was Easter, so we got blessed colored eggs, it was very nice!

The pillow was not super comfortable, maybe it was just for me.

the owner was very nice and funny. They were kind enough to cancel one room free of charge even though the booking was past free cancellation date.

the sink was not draining, so we brushed our teeth in bidet we had to wait 1,5 hour to make the check in because the room wasn’t cleaned on time, but the cofee and tea from the ovner made the wait easier.
