    Pros +

    • There was very little to positively 'like' about the place. It was quiet and the bed was very comfortable, so a good night's sleep possible. The staff were friendly enough.
    • The room was very spaceous and very clean. Do not expect a fancy new room, but a place were you will feel home. The staff was very welcoming and gentle, especially the turkish gentle man from the reception! Thank you dor your hospitality, highly recommended and maybe see you in future.
    • This is a basic hotel, with clean and comfortable rooms. Good value for money. The check in was efficient via the bar below which is open early and closes late.

    Cons -

    • There was plenty to dislike. The hotel really was just a basic outdated bar (full of old men gambling and knocking back small glasses of spirits or wine) with rooms. If you have any sort of mobility issue, forget this place; the staircase is lethal. The door entry system requires you to enter the PIN and in a micro second push the door open (door is not at arm's length). Bathroom was small, old and only just clean enough. The lighting was terrible. One low watt light in the centre; no bedside or table lamps. No desk level socket. Door to the corridor heavy and difficult to open. Parking was possible outside, but would have been more assured that my car and its possessions would still have been there the next day if they had offered a space to the rear of the property where the owners parked...in a huge open space. Not a hint of any basic food on offer, and nothing much within walking distance except the excellent boulangerie next door. Shall not bother with a return visit.
    • The location was a brisk 20 minute walk from Chartres, and slightly edgy.
    • Road closure. Local roads clogged and parking difficult. It was not near any restaurants to be able to walk for an evening meal.

It was OK, just. It was particularly unfortunate that the location was on the section of road that had been closed completely for a road cycle race that evening. The room and facilities were acceptable for the price.

Road closure. Local roads clogged and parking difficult. It was not near any restaurants to be able to walk for an evening meal.

No frills, but everything you need for a comfortable stay

Not in city center, but a quick drive or a doable walk

    7hawkesPosted on: 5-20-2024

The price was correct, staff very happy to help (for the security of my moto )

The Entrance to the reception was busy with smokers on a wet evening from the café next door

Simple, Clean and Affordable.Perfect for my needs and the owner allowed me to put my motorbike in a locked garage overnight.Electric shutter on the window means I had a good night's rest ?

Good price for the money and a good location on a main road. No problem finding a parking space at all. Pet friendly. Great for staying one or two days but i would not recommend staying longer or on vacation.

The room was noisy(air conditioning), and there was a lot of noise from outside. Room was smaller than i expected (room with two double beds).

    Bad

Horrible experience! I didn’t expect a five star hotel. I mean the size of the room and location were good but the toilet was not clean at all! Someone defecated before and they did not clean the remains! It was disgusting !

Excellent location on a main road into Chartres. Plenty of parking nearby. Bedroom and bathroom were a good size and in good condition. Bed was comfortable. Shower was hot. Bakery nearby. Very good value for money.

Getting the key from the bar next door, however some English speaking French people translated and it was sorted.

Ok for price. Clean and comfortable and pleasant enough.

Hard to find from outside. Entrance obscure. Had to phone to meet someone there. Went to the bar next door as couldnt see the hotel...luckily there was the contact with the key! Allow 20 mins to find and access.Just street parking at a certain risk.

Very convenient, staff efficient and welcoming.

The hotel, staff, location, amenities are ok and practical let's not throw it of all together, I was happy to find a lat minute accomodation for decent price. Then it is not exactly what you are looking for for a business trip, it is more a place for workers to stay one month or two for a construction. The big deal were the polyester pillows, not up to hostellerie standards, the rest anyone can cope up with.

    7RimaPosted on: 5-22-2023

the bed was comfortable, and i liked the bathroom with the bagnio and that there was place to put your stuff

entrance for the reception isn't known, the space outside the window was full of garbage, and i couldn't sleep all night because of the noise of a sort of a motor, so i am glad i didn't stay there formore than one night

    7AntonyPosted on: 5-18-2023

Close off road parking. Simple, clean room and facilities.

The street outside was a bit tatty.

For one night on the way is good. We did travel with family, the location is good for visit city Chartres, cathedral and so, is near to walk or go with bus. Stuff was very kind and helpfull. We had car full of our things for vacation, but we could put it in the garage over the night. The rooms are small, but clean and there is all what you need incl. linen and towels. Downstairs is small bar of the same owner, but this close at 22 hour. Surroundings is a little problem, typical outskirts of french cities, because this i dont recommend for longer stay for a family, but for 1-2 night its ok.

A convenient location. Pleasant staff who are always willing to help.

The first room that we were offered had a problem with the loo - the cistern wouldn't fill after flushing. It was also not very clean and very small, which is a challenge when travelling with a medium sized dog. We've stayed here before and always been offered a larger room. They moved us to a larger (and cleaner) room, with a working toilet, where we were much more comfortable. Unfortunately we overlooked the back of the bakery next door and were woken, and kept awake, by the coming and going there from about 4am....

hotel was convenient to reach, staff was friendly and very helpful, room was clean and spacious

only problem was noise, we had to keep the window open because of the hot weather and all sorts of noise came in from the outside. I would like to point out that the noise didn't belong to the hotel but was coming from the outside, so the hotel is not really to blame

    8BernadettePosted on: 5-16-2022

Far out of town, not central at all.

No local facilities like restaurant, other than pizza.

    3RichardPosted on: 2-28-2022

Not a lot to like about the property. Center of town and easy to find.

Above a bar/tabac which was full of men. Also, men congregating in the doorway of the property smoking. We had to go into the bar to get the key. The room was VERY basic. Travel lodge in England is far better than this ... !!
