Pros +
- It was fine but I must say, it did not match the great reviews that I had read on booking. We travel extensively, especially in France and this hotel would stack up as a 3.5 to 4
- Boutique hotel, well appointed with some quirky elements to it. Very friendly staff. Easy car-parking but limited spaces
- Great boutique hotel. Small car park but if you book and arrive early you should get a space.Lovely staffBreakfast quality ingredients
Cons -
- The worts is the location. It is located in a not pretty urban neighborhood and has practically no grounds around it. No need to walk out the door and wander around. You have to catch a Tram (it convenient to the hotel) and ride into the city. Every item (cokes drinks, snacks were for sale
- Limited spar
- Could have had fresh milk for tea in room but to be fair i am sure if i had asked i could have had some.Would just have been welcome provided.

This was a wonderful stay - a solo escape to Bordeaux for three nights. A beautiful, historic hotel, outside of Bordeaux' historic center, but an easy tram ride in, with trams running frequently. (It's also easy to reach the hotel from the airport via tram, with one change). I ate two nights in the hotel's restaurant, which is excellent and breakfasts were good, with convenient hours. Appreciative of the excellent front desk staff, friendly and informative. I was extremely busy during the days, and this hotel was an enjoyable respite in evenings. A great find.
The comfort and decoration The staff and quality of breakfast
Beautifully restored property with luxurious finishes and details. Very nice staff and most helpful. The restaurant chef was very good and our meals were wonderful.
The location was a bit far from town and many roads were closed so it seemed so far away from town. The neighborhood I’d residential and commercial. Not very upscale area.
Amazing listed building with a contemporary stylish interior. Room was spacious and clean. Lovely furniture.
No lift but that was explained. Listed property. A tram ride from the centre but the surrounding area is beautiful.
Location, quiet, clean, large comfortable room.Excellent customer service from the staff
No bathroom door, no twin beds
We have stayed here before so I’ve already done one review. This time we had a top floor room accessed via a stone spiral staircase. Still a nice room but not as big as the ground floor room. Nicely decorated. The restaurant is shut on Sunday and Monday, but this time (Saturday) we got to eat there. It was really good and was our last meal after three weeks in France. My wife, who doesn’t eat meat and was sometimes challenged when it came to choice, said this was our best meal. Don’t miss it!
I don’t think they should charge for car parking when you are paying a significant room rate.
Beautiful hotel , nicely decorated & spacious rooms and kind & attentive staff . Tram station nearby made getting in and out of city center easy
Whilst beautiful boutique hotel this is not a 5 star hotel as it lacks facilities & amenities. Limited snack options while restaurant was closed Sunday & Monday . Breakfast was tasty but expensive considering options & quantity
Great location for access to Bordeaux city using the tram system…
Monday/Tuesday restaurant closed but a wide variety of places to eat a 10min tram ride away ( passes the front door - €1.90 each way).
It is a very easy drive from the airport, no more than 20 minutes.I think there are eight rooms. We stayed in room one, which is spacious and nicely decorated and furnished. There is a small patio outside. The room is light but has an impression ceiling blind to create black out at night. There is a free standing bath plus a good sized shower. Staff are excellent and getting in and out of the city centre is very easy by tram (you buy tickets via the tram app). It is quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was excellent. Please note that their restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday, so we didn’t have the opportunity to eat there. We will be staying here again at the end of our holiday and I’m pleased that we are doing so.
Very little! The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood and there is not much that you can walk to. That being said there is a family oriented Italian restaurant five minutes away where we enjoyed our first night’s meal.PS. Check the location carefully. Our satnav struggled. The entrance is discrete.
The hotel was very pretty and the staff were so friendly and attentive. It was their mission to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The restaurant food was delicious too! Our room was a good size with a big comfy bed, perfect for lazy mornings.
There were lots of mosquitoes in the garden which were a bit of a nuisance around the pool and whilst eating outside. The hotel staff were aware of this though and provided repellant for free.
Maison Pavlov is a beautiful small hotel near the centre of Bordeaux with a renowned restaurant. The rooms, facilities staff and the restaurant are all first class. The staff particularly were polite and helpful, espcially with ideas for our stay and directions to public transport which, in Bordeaux, is excellent.
Nothing, it was a perfect stay.
Lovely, small and quirky hotel. We had a fantastic meal in the hotel restaurant on our first night. Breakfast was almost as good.
Super Boutique Hotel. Axel at the front desk was exceptional in making arrangements.
This is NOT a 5 star Luxury Hotel. No, valet, no international tv station, no evening turn-down , bathroom not clean, previous guests items on bedside table, no help with bags, door opens on kitchen and toilet, lobby full of event guests. Noisy and smells from kitchen (fish) in the room.
Room is dated looking , floor old.
Cozy Boutique hotel very friendly staff and atmosphere quiet neighborhood not to far from the city center with nice garden and pool
All was good
We wanted to stay somewhere nicer but close to the BOD airport. We read the reviews and this charming petite 17c monastery lived up to expectations. The best was the restaurant - mentioned in the Michelin guide (I am happy it does not have a star yet because it makes it just as good and more approachable). The hotel is buried in the bustling suburb of Le Bouscat - bikes, cars, kids going to school - so be prepared with your car to navigate the little busy streets. But somehow you enter the garden and all of that is left behind. An oasis of calm and serenity. Rooms and restaurant impeccably and uniquely decorated to a high standard. All of it was great, and 15 min from the airport the next morning. They also have AC in the hot summers. We will go back!
It was a little pricey for the lower season, but still very worth it. Breakfast options ranged from expensive to just coffee and pastry for 15EUR. We had the French press coffee in the room then decided to get breakfast at the airport. Dinner was also pricey but very worth it. For the dinner - it seemed all the dishes has asparagus (I don't like asparagus but ate it anyway and they did it very well, but I was surprised at all of the asparagus. Season menus are understandable, so not really a complaint, just personal). You definitely get what you pay for.
A little piece of heaven, they are dedicated, attentive and it s a little like a house party with friends not a hotel. The food, particularly the breakfast was heavenly. The outdoor pool was magical, and ideal for hot days.A perfect location, close to Bordeaux but with a suburban, village feel.
In honesty, nothing.
