- No hot water most of the days . From 22h30 until 07H30 nothing to drink ou eat at all .If you want a coffe you have to go to Santa Maria 8km away. The food is good however is very small quantity , we stay always hungry.
Cons -
- Wifi did not work. The breakfast was not great, with undrinkable coffee (even though the pool bar had a proper setup and could make good enough espresso). The whole infrastrusture seems to have seen better days.
- The distance from the room to the restaurant and poolEspecially for elderly And disabled people.

Lovely property very quiet.
Wi-Fi didn’t work in our apartment
Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are lots of friendly cats & dogs. Being right by the sea was amazing & the pool looked great but it was a bit too cold outside for us to swim- I'm sure it's wonderful in summer. We were just there for 1 night and reception helped us book a taxi to the airport
Comfortable big room, also very cleanFriendly StaffThere are free buses to and from Santa Maria, which are very helpfulThere is a nice open bar/cafe, nice people and nice foods and drinks Breakfast is good with ocean view
WiFi was available only in the reception's hall, no WiFi in the room(But it was actually ok for us for spending our holiday time in the beautiful nature country)
The location is incredible, with the restaurant built on decking on top of the reef right by the sea. It was amazing watching the waves crash against the rocks. Also, the dinners were really good. I was not expecting food like it. Had monkfish one night (the highlight(, grilled pork skewers another night, and an excellent burger and chips another night. There is a daily fish and meat special, alongside a range of regular options. Service overall was good. The pool is really big for a hotel pool and there is a great 20-minute walk you can do up the coast along the beech to get to O Ninho dos Piratas, a pirate-themed restaurant where we had our lunches.
On our arrival, very late at night after a long day's traveling, there was no water at all in the room. No water. At all. The next morning we requested this to be fixed, and it was. However, we then only had cold water for our entire stay. This problem apparently could not be fixed. Also the WiFi in the room barely works, nor did the TV. Not that these were particularly important.
Boring stay in a windy village without attractions
We were offered limited amount of food during our stay. Finally last breakfast one lady told us we can have everything from the list. There is no buffet/Swedish table so you can’t choose what you want,( additionally, swimming pool is really dirty. There is no place around to swim. It was extremely windy and Beirona is very boring place, there is nothing to do. We stayed 3 nights and this is maximum in my opinion
The fact they have a van to do transfer to Santa Maria during the day.
The Wifi was not working for 2 days. When we complain about it, they changed our room and then we could use the internet. The other thing is not nice and we didn't know is that for the breakfast and dinner (we took half board), you can choose just one option from the menu.
Our second accommodation on the island after Santa Maria. Murdeira Village is the place for peace and quiet, no music in the daytime anywhere… heaven! Our room was at the back of the village, giving us sunshine on the balcony in the morning, out of the wind, plastic furniture is tiny and broken on the balcony, we used the sitting room chairs. The room is big, well maintained, very basic, not really a kitchenette we only had two odd glasses, two odd tiny cups and we had to ask for a kettle. The Fridge is tired but ok, no cooking facilities. No aircon needed for sleeping, I could feel the springs in the bed, slept on a duvet thing did help. Lovely fresh cotton sheets every couple of days. Laundry very clean and the room was cleaned everyday. Blackout curtains. That sand does get everywhere! The shower is very good if you have it before everyone else. A small shop down the road. There is rocky Sandy walks up and down the coast from the village. Average temp was 25 degrees, perfect. Evening cooler and sleep able. Our air cushions came in handy on the sun loungers, there are not enough sun loungers round the pool but we managed to get some most days. The sun loungers are homemade wood and not the ones on the website, no loungers on the beach as in the website images. The cushions mats are spilt and tired but they are comfy if you get out of the wind. Would be great to have loungers on the beach or beach chairs and wind breaks.More wind here as it is exposed, the cove bay is swimmable when the sea is less rough. Some coral and fish here, we did snorkel and you can sea turtles. The hotel beach bar / restaurant has good food. We had the b&b options, one of everything off the breakfast list. Dried French bread jams and butter, egg (how you like them), fruit salad, yogart, a ham and cheese sandwich (good for lunch). The pool is busy at weekend. We hailed the local bus at the roundabout into Santa Maria, €1.
The photos on the website are not recent. They could do with more sun loungers.
Run down resort, dirty beach and pool.
The surrounding area is beautiful. You can see turtles and wonderful fish passing by. Nobody at the beach ! Very safe. The free shuttle going to Santa Maria.
The bed was not comfortable.Nothing in the room. Cabo Verde produces its own coffee but no coffee in the room, so we had to buy everything,The reception is very far from the rooms. Not enough food was served at the restaurant so I was still hungry after eating. Only one main dish and dessert, that's it. I expected more. Also it would be better if it was a buffet because even though very friendly, the waitresses didn't speak basic English nor French and couldn't explain what was being served before ordering. It would be beneficial for everybody to teach them some basic vocabulary relating to food, at least . Sad only water was included. It would have been nice to have at least one glass of wine or 1 beer.
The location was really good. Far from tourist trap like Santa Maria, but still in a close proximity by bus provided by the hotel free of charge twice a day. Staff at the reception was ready to help, organised our pick up from and to the airport. Pool was big and was cleaned everyday. Exceptional beaches, clean and empty. Dinners offer good selection of different daily dishes.
Rooms need some touch-ups. The rooms overall are very big, with nice little terrace, cleaning lady was diligently cleaning everyday. However, some modifications, especially for bathroom are needed. Breakfast had a limited choice with small portions. The waiters did not explain if we could get more than one dish per person or it’s one per person, which would be far from enough for an adult. Buffet would be much better.
Pool was not bad, quiet beach
Location pretty far off, the accommodation requires some renovation, it was just one night but we did not enjoy staying there. Staff at reception was also somwhat unmotivated - completely different from the very friendly people we met on the Island afterwards. Not a feel-good-place, to be honest :(
pool, sea, breakfast, diner, shuttle, staff
toilette cleanness, no towel replacement
It was a quiet place. Good breakfast.
We had several insects (cockroach, ants, spiders) showing up in the bedroom. I believe it’s also normal taking in consideration the country, nonetheless the staff could had been more attentive. The mattress is very tough. The place is far from all touristic spots so a cab is always need everywhere.
The recreational area; pool and bar area
The rooms have no sea view,Water supply was down on our second nightTwo single beds instead of a double or queen bed.The breakfast was bad Lack of good options on the menu
The location,it was too far from santa maria. They have a shuttle bus but they have limited hours. Bad wifi in the rooms. Towels were changed once in 5 days...the beach around the hotel is not really one where u can swim
Nice location
The beds are hard but not really uncomfortable, we stayed for 4 night and showered with cold water, even after making it known at the reception. Had cockroaches and a lot of ants in the room. Nearly caught salmonella at the restaurant after ordering chick which was not cooked through.Overall i was very disappointed, because the reviews were good
