Friendly and courteous reception. Pleasant atmosphere in the hotel foyer thanks to the brick facades in the stairwell. Despite the central location, the room is completely quiet and has a nice view to the centre. Classic furniture in Scandinavian style.

    Hairdryer with higher performance;)

The location is unbeatable. The hotel is small but functional and has more than a touch of personality that makes it interesting. While the building is ancient, the rooms are modern.

The room was frankly small. Thankfully I did not have lugagge, I'd be hard pressed tio find a spot for it. No minifridge either.

Amazing location. Very nice room with all necessities. Our room also had a very nice view of the streets. Staff was helpful and even tidied up our room when we were out.

Pipes under the sink made a few weird noises at night.

    8JennaPosted on: 1-24-2024

    location was perfect

the sign on the building is too small to see from the road. it took me 45 minutes to find out it was right around the corner

I actually don't really want to review this hotel, as if people knew how good it was, I would never be able to book a room anymore. I don't think there is a more lovelier hotel in the world than this one. Also, in the centre of the city and the tram in front of it. A city and tram loving traveller can't wish for more.

The curtains fall over the heating, so the warmth stays behind it. Seems not really thought through. Easy fix by just shortening the curtains. Because of the high ceiling, we felt a lot of heat got wasted and we never really benefitted from all the produced heat.

Bed super comfy, room was cleaned daily. Staff were very polite and helpful.

Seemed to hear a lot of noise from the corridor, walls seemed quite thin. Would have been nice for the bedding itself to be changed rather than just made for us seeing as we stayed for 4 nightsNo kettle in our room, had to go down to reception for tea/coffee

The room is clean, the bed and pillows are comfortable. The breakfast is simple but satisfactory. The building is very charming, and the location is great! Also, all the staff were really nice and polite.

The room is not soundproof, so it was possible to hear people outside (on the street and on the hotel corridors).

    The building, the location.

Too noisy, could hear the guest next door at 4am! Cold room, no shampoo, the sink is not in the bathroom. The layout of the room was weird.

    Close with city

The hotel is totally different not the same as other ibis sames limited personeel

The location of the hotel is excellent, it is very good that the building was built in the 1800s, the reception service is good and free coffee and free water servise is always preferred.

1-When you enter the hotel, you have to climb at least 30-40 stairs with a sign on the door stating that the reception is upstairs. Once you get used to it, there is actually an elevator just ahead of the first entrance. Not problem for me, I only have a small baggage, but bit problem for aged people with large baggage.2-My room was in the roof (penthouse), small without any window and small. Size of room is not important, usually standart but no window inside room is not good. If I know this before, İ did not book this room. 3-I stayed during winter time, heating with 30 degrees together with highest rate means that your room will be very cold. When İ asked for this, they say stay with 30 but smallest fan rate will be good for heat. They were right but I prefer for them to say it before my entrance to the room.4- İ was there for a dinner with my husband, but they say main entrance door to hotel from street will be closed at 21.00. After this time it is needed to ring the bell. So İ tried to come back earlier from dinner without enjoy because of the ring and if they do not open the door. But all of these problems İ prefer to stay there again because of other good things of the hotel

Everything was cool. Location, comfort, cleanliness. Free tea or coffee.

    10ElizabethPosted on: 11-30-2023

Thought the staff were exceptional and informative. Coffee/tea available at all times was necessary are I was cold and wet during my visit. They stored my bags as I toured the city before returning to Amsterdam. I wish I stayed longer.

The sign out front is small. This is not the hotels fault but I literally would walk in circles around the church because I had trouble finding the entrance.

    10KellyPosted on: 11-24-2023

I liked the location and the old building was very charming. They gave us earplugs but we didn't need them on a weeknight (no idea if things might be different on a weekend). I really appreciated the kind and helpful staff.

It was a bit of a walk from the train station, although we could have taken the tram probably. It's near a bit of nightlife which might be loud on the weekends.

    10SultanPosted on: 11-5-2023

The hotel from the inside is beautiful and the way the building is maintained keeping its old heritage intact.

Everything was perfect the only thing i would suggest is to improve the heating in the room of the top floor as it gets a bit cold because insulation doesnt stop the cold. And the heating is not enough to keep the room warm.
