Pros +
- We had a very comfortable stay at 't Goude Hooft right in the heart of Den Haag. It is a fabulous location if you want to explore the historic part of the city. This Hotel Restaurant has been famous for decades for its large terrace where many locals and visitors love to have a drink or a meal and watch people. Our room was on the top floor (Binnenhof), overlooking the market square. Very spacious, very clean, with a separate WC and large bathroom. There was a sitting and bar area, and the minibar was complimentary (nice touch!) The incredible breakfast was served on the terrace, and was delicious and Dutch, with eggs, cheese, meats and more. There are not many rooms in this hotel and they took very good care of us! Very professional and friendly staff.
- I realize how challenging it must have been to convert/renovate the old facility rooms into these amazing units they are now. Some comments: We stayed in Torentje. There not being a privacy separator of some kind for the shower/tub area is baffling to me. A curtain, etched glass separator, room screen….anything! Shower door was difficult to manage properly. Other than that….everything was outstanding.
- Great location, quirky but excellent suites, management and staff very helpful, restaurant popular and lovely, good value, very good but quirky breakfast, we will definitely stay again.
Cons -
- The front desk is not always manned, and one evening when we came back late, we were almost locked out. We should have asked about that!
- Strange room layout, slightly cramped but functional. having to pass through the access is a bit odd but you soon get used to it
- Some noice from the restaurant was heard up to the room.

I had noticed the hotel from walking in the area and been drawn to it as it's old style Dutch. The rooms have been completely renovated to a high standard. The morning buffet was personal to our table. The staff were all helpful, the food was good, and the bed was comfortable. We loved having a gas fire in the sitting area. The location is fantastic as base to explore this very walkable city. It made for a nice night away for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Location excellent and staff fantastic.
Strange room layout, slightly cramped but functional. having to pass through the access is a bit odd but you soon get used to it
Good location, really good breakfast.
Some noice from the restaurant was heard up to the room.
The room was clean and luxurious. Cosy restaurant.
The noise from inside and outside hotel kept us up until after midnight. During breakfast we were not asked what kind of breakfast we wanted (we were served a whole array of food we did not ask for, very wasteful).Servers from the kitchen came to complain to the hotel manager (?) while I was checking in, which led to a very uncomfortable situation.
the hotel itself was good.
Staff was incredibly unfriendly except for two hotel receptionist. My boyfriend and I felt treated poorly. We got disgusted looks from the waiters all the time. We were very looked down upon. We are constantly ignored as well and on online costumer service as well.
Great location, staff very helpful.
More restaurant than hotel, but not a bad thing just different ?
The manager& staff was fantastic. So kind to us. The restaurant was very good& good value. Room was very clean. Quite modern suite- bath in the bedroom. I would absolutely return - but to a more traditional room! Great location. Ambassador& Dr W Montgomery
All great
Location, room, mini bar, staff and breakfast!
Decorate was fabulous, staff were all lovely and food was very good. Very clean and spacious rooms.
Very noisy at night from outside noise.
Beautiful and spacious room with drinks in mini bar and coffee machine. Breakfast was very generous too. The location is super for sightseeing
We came back to hotel after 11.30pm and the doors were locked. Thankfully cleaning staff were able to let us in.
The room is amazing. Way beyond average. The location is great, if you can handle the noise (I new this upfront, so no issue)
- 20 minutes before I arrived I received a phonecall I had to hurry because they closed the reception (it was 8:40pm). Unlees I missed it, I was not aware. It's also strange as the restaurant is opne much later- The gentlemen at the reception was very unfriendly. Breakfast is at 9:00 am. I told him I started working at 9:00 and wanted to eat earlier. He told me I was aware it was this late. I checked and showed him the booking. It was not. Next he told me I should have checked the website. Unbelievable... In the end, I got an earlier breakfast.- the gentlemen serving the breakfast was not aware about my earlier plan and was incredibly unfriendly. - the rooom was much noisier then I anticipated. You get free earplugs but even then, could be a challenge. If you want a amazing room and can handle unfriendly people, noise and breakfast after 9:00, you could give it a try, if not, I would suggest looking for something else. Out of my latest 50 hotel bookings, this is the second bad rating I hand out.
Amazing location!!
Coming back late at night requires you to ring a bell and wait for the the staff to open for you. A little awkward
Large Bath, Spacious Rooms, Helpful Staff, Beautiful interiors.
Elevator conflicts with Restaurant Kitchen Entrance.
First revisit since the pandemic, Goude Hoft remains my number 1 hotel for stays in The Hague. Simply fabulous in every aspect. Never had a better breakfast in the Netherlands.
Amazing place. Rooms, Bar, restaurant and staff all superb. Lots of character and style throughout,
I love this charming hotel! Also I wish I knew that taxi cannot reach to the door of the hotel and I need to walk for the last couple of minutes to get here.
I like my room but the ventilation can be improved. The room is generally quiet but I can hear people on the street at 2AM or 3 AM.
We had a wonderful stay at 't Goude Hooft. The hotel is bijou but gorgeous, and the customer service is fantastic. The location is amazing and the terrace and restaurant are lovely. Myself and my daughter really loved our visit and we would love to return one day.
