Very clean and super friendly staff

The pillows were very hard. That’s my only complaint

Very comfortable hotel in a first class location. Helpful staff, great breakfast in lovely dining room with sea views. Will definitely return.

Parking spaces were very limited but parking in street nearby was fine and free in October.

Great location and just across the road from the beach. Within easy walking distance 10-15 mins of all amenities in the town centre. Loads of really nice shops in the town. Lovely long walk down to the port area.

Great location with a nice&clean sand-beach across from a road . Many beautiful hotels & handsome buildings are around the areas. Ocean can be seen from our balcony . The room is small ; there is a good restaurant in the Hotel. Staffers are polite and very helpful .

The location was good for the beach, as expected. It is right across from a nice enough stretch of sand and of course you come to La Baule to go to the beach. The main drag of restaurants and bars is about 10-15 minutes walk away from the hotel, but there are a few things around. The general standard of cleanliness was fine throughout the hotel. The air conditioning worked as you would expect and the shower was good.

Unfortunately, the bed was covered in a plasticky sheet that meant it didn't breathe at all. This made it impossible to sleep for us, and we had two very uncomfortable nights, even with the air-co running. It was sweaty and really unpleasant. I expect that in a 1 star hotel, but this was expensive and wanting decent sheets isn't that much to ask. In the end, you pay to sleep and we couldn't do that here. The side beach view isn't worth paying for - you see very little. And we found the service in the restaurant well-intentioned but very awkward and we were uncomfortable there. It is a shame as this was supposed to be a special weekend for us, but basically we were exhausted and miserable.

No car parking available.Our superior room was small.Overpriced. At the end of the day its a Mercure hotel, thats all.

Polite and helpful staff. Nice room with really comfortable bed. The hotel is well positioned, by the beach, near shops and restaurants, yet not too close!

Disappointing

After a long journey from the UK it took us 5 attempts to get in our room. The key fob repeatedly did not work and there was also someone already booked into the room., which was embarrassing for us and them. Turns out that the receptionist wrote the wrong floor on the key card. Although it was not a good start what made it even more annoying was that we were made to feel that we were a nuisance for keep returning to reception to advise that we still couldn't get in. Although who I think was the manager eventually apologised it was then too late. Even if if they had offered a drink on the house it would have been something. The air con in our room didn't work and even though we advised them on 2 occasions, nobody came to fix it. Once again t took ages to be served in the bar, even though it was practically empty. This was our third trip to the hotel with our friends but we will look for alternative accommodation for next year. They really need to up their customer service.

Great location on the sea front. Staff were helpful. Restuarant was good, in the old style. The town and the sweeping beach was very good.

Room we had was really too small for two people and their luggage. Not really an issue but a big triathlon weekend for the town did mean the seafront was partly blocked off for much of the time - whilst it was interesting to see some of the triathlon action, maybe some up front advice from the hotel would have been useful ( especially to UK visitors ).
