Hotel Barriere L'Hermitage

Beautiful grounds and hotel.

It’s a little isolated and the pool area gets crowded.

Breakfast was very good with a comprehensive buffet and omelet and egg station. Good selection of hot drinks and juices and great surroundings. The concierge was excellent and the bar food was great. Our only slight disappointment was the food at the beach restaurant (the one hotel was closed) which was good but not up to the standard of the rest of our stay. The staff in the spa were also excellent and I had a very good massage! The location was also excellent - we could walk to everywhere in La Baule that we wanted to visit.

It would have been nice to try the main restaurant in the hotel but it was closed.

The hotel is in a beautiful situation and has a lovely outdoor swimming pool.The breakfast dining room was large enough to cater for many guests with a very pleasant outdoor terrace. The view from the Seaview rooms is wonderful.We enjoyed the restaurants on site.

The Air conditioning wasn't working!!!!! The weather was exceptionally warm so our rooms on the 6th floor, under the roof, were so hot. We were advised to keep the doors closed because of the mosquitos (which we can vouch for!) so we had no fresh air. We made a complaint after the first unbearably hot night and the deputy manager took action immediately to relocate us on lower floors in larger suites. It was still hot at night, but bearable, and the rest of our stay was superb.

Given wrong room. Not what we paid for. Couldn't book any of the restaurants.

Perfect beach front location. Excellent rooms, facilities, and staff. Would love to come back next summer.

The room door has an electric look that house keeping could still open with their card.

Feeling very sad that such a hotel would not consider changing dates on my stay.My 18 year old niece was diagnosed with cancer in the past 2 weeks, so I canceled all of my european trip for further dates to be with her during her surgery and quimio treatment. All other 5 hotels (not 5 star) reserved, refunded my reservation deposits. Very sad, that the most expensive, does not have any humanity. SAD!

Beach club and eden beach. Concierge team led by Alex excellent - especially as I had a health scare- false alarm thankfully

Breakfast was a bot impersonal and the covid checks intrusive. Bar was more fun.

Room not ready on arrival late afternoon. Room not done next morning. Rusty heater in bathroom. Terrasse table provided with not emptied ashtrey(no smokers)etc.....
