Pros +
- Close to the train station, breakfast was pretty good and the room was relatively comfortable.
- It’s an ideal location (and quiet), but since Krems is a small city, nothing is really far from each other. The breakfast is amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
- Large, comfortable, and well-designed room. Renovated in 'original ' building. The staff were super friendly and helpful with great recommendations. Location was right outside old town and walkable to everything including the train station. Great breakfast in a lovely winter garden. Highly recommended.
Cons -
- You had to carry your own luggage up 2-3 flights of stairs. Also I went during non-peak season so check on was in the hotel instead, nothing downstairs (restaurant / staff) was open and you had to turn on hallway lights yourself. Overall it was just creepy - I don't think I would have started here had I known that.
- The early last check-in time was not actually a problem, but my regional train connection ended to up being delayed by 2 hours, so having to worry about being at the hotel by a certain time was a bit stressful. The older hotel location ( a block from the newer building where the reception and dining room are) has no elevator, so having to carry my rolling bag up 2 flights was a little annoying. Anyone who is wheelchair bound or has other mobility issues should look elsewhere (unless they can guarantee an “accessible room.
- Wasn't a huge issue, but didn't like and didn't know in advance that reception and breakfast was in newer building. Want crazy about leaving our building to go to breakfast or even to ask questions at reception. If that would be issue, just book room in newer building.

Breakfast was great. Staff friendly.
There is no lift in the gasthaus and we are elderly. Had to climb lots of stairs and get someone to carry our luggage.
Great stay in Krems. The hotel's location is great, literally 5 minutes to the city center. Lockable and monitored storage outside for bicycles with the possibility of charging ebikes. Breakfasts are very good, containing everything you need. Out of season, you have to go to the building next door for breakfast, but that's no problem. We will definitely return to Krems and to this hotel!
Nice clean rooms, very central location and very nice breakfast
Room recently renovated; quiet; bed very comfortable
The breakfast was excellent. Venue is close to the center. parking place in front of the hotel.
Unavailable wifi connection.
spacious room, comfy bed. good breakfast spread. lovely staff, always happy to help. they accommodated our request for a fridge, kettle and iron. we were also able to borrow umbrellas, very helpful.
little bit tricky on check in and check out as there was no lift to the second storey.
Breakfast was excellent! Comfy beds. Amazing staff!
The pool was too cold to use. With hot weather (mid 80's) during our stay we were looking forward using the pool at the end of each day but the water was very cold.
Great room (with air conditioning). Comfortable bed. Good size room with nice spacious bathroom and shower. Staff were amazing...offered a kettle for our room and supplied a better hair dryer than what was in the room. Excellent breakfast with lots of choices!
Big room. Great breakfast
Not great for cyclists. Only a small lock up cage for bikes which was full when we arrived at 4pm. The lock up cage was 100m from the hotel and our room was on the 3rd floor with no lift.. A long way to carry the bags. Reception and breakfast was in a different building across the road. All very confusing at the beginning.
A little on the expensive side, but the staff were very helpful. Great breakfast. Staff let us have a kettle for the room but we had to ask
Toilet was a bit smelly. Kettle or hot water for drinks?
The room and the swimming pool was great. A trip on the Danube was a highlight.
Good breakfast, thr room was clean.
For check in and breakfast you have to go to another building (not far, around 50m, but still not comfortable). There is no reception in the building. Steep stairs to the room (it wasn't a problem for us, but might be difficult if you have heavier luggage or reduced mobiity). Pillows filled with feather (bad for people with allergies). We paid 160 eur/night, so not a great value for money.
Decent rooms with very nice breakfast
The smell in the hallway was really not good
Very nice reception staff, satisfying breakfast, large, nice and cozy rooms.Close to the central bus and train stations and touristic area of the town.
No elevator.Weird little window from the room to the toilets caused some inconvenience.
We got rooms in the hotel instead of the gasthof, so we’ve been upgraded for free :) The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is nice and close to the center, and there was a great selection of food at breakfast (even smoked salmon). We would choose this hotel again!
We were greeted by friendly reception staff. The check in/out process was very fast and effortless. The room was spacious with comfortable bed and good wifi signal. The breakfast was tasty with fresh fruits and vegetables, crusty bread and delicious homemade cakes. Hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of the historical city centre. We had a wonderful time in Krems an der Donau!
Great location in the city center, spacious room, comfortable bed, strong wifi signal, delicious breakfast, welcoming atmosphere.
