Opened in December 2012, Hotel Matterhorn Lodge is located in the historic center of Zermatt. Decorated in a classic Alpine style, it features a wellness area with 3 different saunas. A ski bus stop is a 2-minute walk away. Units at the Matterhorn Lodge have 1 or 2 flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, a bathroom and modern furnishings. Some units have a kitchen or kitchenette, and some offer Matterhorn views. A rich breakfast is served every morning. The Matterhorn Lodge features a hotel bar and a ski storage room. A shuttle service to the train station is provided free of charge. Next to the Bahnhofstrasse and the Kirchplatz, it is 984 feet from the closest restaurant. The Sunnegga Cable Car Station and the Zermatt Train Station are within 1640 feet of the Lodge. Zermatt is car-free. Access for private traffic is only permitted as far as Täsch. From Täsch you can take the train or take a taxi or limousine service to Zermatt. Täsch is 3.1 mi from Zermatt, the Täsch-Zermatt road is closed to public transport.

Please note that Zermatt is a car-free village. You can park your car in Täsch (indoor parking) and continue to Zermatt by train or taxi. If you are traveling with children, please inform the property in advance of how many are arriving and include their age. Please also note that extra beds must be requested before arrival. The booking confirmation states the contact details. Please note that the wellness center is open from 14:30 to 21:00 daily. Please note that the wellness area, breakfast, housekeeping and reception are unavailable from April 27th to May 23rd, 2025.

Pros +
- the room was lovely, but underground partially, the lobby was minimal , my room had zero view and I came to see the mountains....it looked out on a neighbor garden
Cons -
- It was not close to the train station as reported on their website, over half a mile the room they gave me, which was much more than I spent for any hotel in my 2 week tour of Switzerland, was partially under ground and I could touch the gardener
