Kinsarvik Fjordhotel, BW Signature Collection

The small town of Kinsarvik gave me the most surprises during this trip to Norway! 1) It is slightly farther from Trolltunga than Odda, but its rooms are easier to book and the prices are more reasonable. 2) The scenery of the town is very beautiful. 3) The elderly gentleman at the front desk who received me was very kind, warm and thoughtful. Knowing we were going to Trolltunga, he even checked the weather for us and asked if we needed to prepare breakfast. When he saw us return from Trolltunga, he told me to take a good rest right away. I am very grateful to him.

The room was outdated and had not been cleaned well before our arrival. We saw several hair strands on the floor.

The bathroom in our room was beautiful, with a large window and a bathtub! We had a suite with a view of the water, and a balcony. The hotel is right on the main street and another side facing the parking lot, but with some views there too. Neither side is anything to get excited about.

The breakfast is sub-par. I've staye in hotels all over Norway, for years and I have to say that this breakfast ranks near the very bottom of my experiences. Also, the bedroom in our suite backed up against the elevator shaft so beginning at about 4:30 in the morning we experienced the loud movement of the elevator coupled with door that slams shut each time it is used.

Great remodeled rooms. Bathtub. Great breakfast (gluten free available). Location location location. And the staff, so friendly and accommodating.

They gave us a free upgrade to a room with a balcony and view of the fjord. The staff were so attentive and really put in effort to make us feel at home and cared after. The breakfast was delicious! First, they gave a selection of cold cuts, vegetables and cheeses. Then they made roasted mushrooms, bacon, and eggs cooked to order! There was also fresh fruit, coffee, tea, bread, and muesli.

Hallway quiet cold.

We had a room on the 4th floor. Modern and comfortable. Kettle and hairdryer. Hard floor. No TV a bonus in our mind, we were informed in advance. We did not have dinner however the breakfast was superb. We used the hotel as a base for hiking. The Spar shop is well equipped for snacks, hiking, camping gear etc. we decided to stay a second night

Everything was perfect… Friendly stuff and fabulous breakfast!! The view from the balcony was also perfect ! Rooms are perfectly designed , there were no tv in the rooms however who needs tv just near the fjords ?

The owner was absolutely wonderful. He helped us with several aspects of our trip - He went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND to try to get us on a RIB boat. The dining room is lovely - good breakfast - limited dinner menu but what they serve is delicious. We had the largest room in the hotel - it was great. Bathroom totally updated.

It's a very old hotel. People checking in need to know this. The elevator is quaint - circa 1940's!! The bar should open before the posted time of 19:00. People want to get a cold drink after a day's activity. However, the dining room staff got us cold beer when we came back at 17:00.

We booked in last minute as we got engaged that day and decided to stay inside of sleeping in our van. We were given a room upgrade and a bottle of champagne on arrival. Amazing customer service and something we will never forget.

Excellent breakfast buffet, varied and plentiful. I would also recommend trying the restaurant.The staff was very helpful and welcoming.

Deluxe rooms was newly refurbished, clean, great view of the fjord from the balcony. Personel was very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was amazing.

Breakfast tasting. Staff kind and helpful. Room comfortable. WI Fi good. They did not have Tv in room due to delivery issues, but it did not matter. Location great.

We booked a superior room here with sea view as a bit of a treat for a single night.We were already disappointed before we arrived having been informed by email after booking that there was no TV in the room after all. If we’d booked with the express purpose of being able to watch something specific, which we sometimes do, we’d have been super annoyed with this lack of information up front. On parking, the disappointment increased as the hotel looked rather dilapidated from the outside. There’s clearly work still in progress decorating and replacing worn out fixtures and fittings. Our room looked as advertised, had a comfy bed, decent bathroom and balcony with sea view but anything needing charging with a short cable had to go on the floor, something I hate, as there were no sockets near the top of the desk or bedside tables. Other small peeves were a shower curtain rather than a screen, toilet roll that couldn’t be fitted in the holder and in the room there are only 2 teabags and two coffee sachets plus four sugars, no milk or creamer. It seemed just a little stingy. Breakfast was adequate, nothing more with a poor selection for the price point. Paper notices with information for guests sticky taped to the walls also didn’t do much to impress. If they really are trying to upgrade and produce a superior offering, they have a way to go yet.
