Pros +
- Simple and clean room with balcony and fantastic view. All that I needed for the professional trip!
- The hotel was comfortable and a good location if you don’t mind a walk down and up the hill if you have a car perfect the village is close by and the ski bus service to the cable car is very good and free, we had dinner in the restaurant at the hotel and the food and service was excellent, and thanks to the hosts for there hospitality.
- Breakfast nice- lovely fresh croissant, variety of jams, baguette, fruit juice coffee, tea, hot choc, home made cake, cheese, charcuterie small bowl of fruit, individual plain yoghurt pot. All very good quality but really too expensive for a family of 5. We opted, after day one, to head early down into town and stop at Tiffanie boulangerie that has a comfortable indoor and outdoor cafe where we could sit and have tea or tissane from a pot and an offer to refill hot water, coffee, hot choc, cold drinks, pastries, breads for far less expense. Really the cost of the breakfast at Edelweiss is the only thing that let it down. Also breakfast didn't start before 8a.m.
Cons -
- Staff, location, view, cleanliness
- The walk up and down the hill other than that everything was perfect.
- Not very flexible with check in times

Clean and comfortable
Not very flexible with check in times
The restaurant in the hotel was great ?
The room, the wifi was useless. The internet connection was bad.
10 minute walk to town, though the ski bus does not go past the door Clean
Lack of communal space, bar not open until restaurant opens, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Partly renovated, clean, well maintained.Rooms are not big but there's just enough space. Great view :) Very good restaurant and breakfast!!
Location is of course not central. But with the car - not an issue at all !
The hotel sits above the village and offers great views across the valley. It's nice to be away from the noise and bustle of Samoëns whilst being only half a mile from all the facilities. The room was basic but comfortable with a great view from the veranda. The breakfast was simple but good quality and the pizzas are superb. We really enjoyed our stay.
The coffee is definitely not Italian! The room was heated by the sun throughout the day and got very hot, which made sleep a little challenging.
Traditional basic winter hotel, beautiful views over the mountains from de balcony.
Outrageous price for the conditions. This is a basic 2 stars hotel that is charging the price of a 5 stars hotel in summer. The rooms are very basic.
Convenient to visit friends and good views over town
bedroom tiny. bathroom very dated with broken shower and front bath tiles
Lovely atmospheric hotel, perfect location. Very comfortable and clean. Only negative was the very thin walls of the hotel room - we were kept awake a lot in the night.
Lovely traditional looking building , very rustic
Top of a very steep hill ! A bit passed its best
Nice friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.
The hotel is a bit dated, but for the price we were more than happy. It is also a bit of a walk with ski equipment to the bus stop (around 15 mins)
Friendly welcoming staff, great views and overall a very pleasant hotel
A lot of walking without a car!
Lovely staff, great little bar area, amazing views from our room and a wonderfully comfy bed. Love samoens a really gorgeous littke town. Thanks
Shower was hot always , beds very comfy . Traditional looking chalet
Too quiet , no boot room , jus the use of the garage , we even had to leave our luggage in the garage which at least it was dry ,
Really great place to stay and welcoming staff. Hotel was really clean and very quaint. Perfect place to stay if you were planning a trip up the mountains . The food was also exceptional!
Nothing that I didn't like. The hotel is exactly as described
The Bed was very very very comfortable and also the pillows (which is like super rare). And that’s probably the only nice thing about the hotel ?
Sorry guys, but it was really awkward. They basically put us out of the restaurant. We booked for 20h and they almost didn’t accept us. It was my birthday so we were 6 adults and 5 kids, we all had food and drinks. We even reserved a cake, with the candles and all, so maybe that was nice cuz they actually prepared something nice. But they pick up the rest of the cake before I could wven say that I wanted another piece ? and then they asked us to leave.. like move in the lobby couch 2m away for about 10 minutes to finish our drinks, and then around 21h30 they closed the restaurant, and put us out, like, ok b-bye now, go sleep. B*tch it’s my birthday I ain’t going to sleep at 9pm wtf? I asked for glasses so we can continued to drink in the room, and event if they gave it to us, they said that’s not a nice thing to do.. excuse me what ? You just kicked us out and refused to sell us anything else. What am I supposed to do at 9pm? Seriously?? Anyway, I could write more but I’ll stop here. Oh just one more thing. Next evening we wanted to eat outside, couldn’t find a place where we could fit (cuz we were 11 souls), and eventually we tried calling the hotel to see if they could take us in for dinner. I swear to god, it was 19h43 when I called, the lady said, we don’t serve food anymore, like it was already too late ! How ? People go out around 20h -21h to eat, and you don’t take us in at 19h43? God save me ?
Staff indifferent. No evening meal, no interest in providing any food or help.
Traditional, simple and great location with charming staff
Could have had a little more choice for breakfast
