Location on the water and the staff were friendly and could speak a little English.

No AC, no fans, in 95° summer heatwave. Other loud guests everywhere; they offer hostel rooms with shared bathrooms. Cracks and creaks constantly, not in a quaint way, rickety shrunk closets and beds; the place is falling apart. No parking, no shuttle.

Excellent location, very nice breakfast, nice people running the place, allowed us to leave our luggage with them which was nice since checkout was early.

Very tiny bathroom for 4 people with some mold.

Very friendly staff, clean large room with a deck, excellent breakfast and outdoor eating area on the lake, central location bordering the main square and a one minute walk to the ferry.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night to celebrate my 50th birthday. We traveled from Salzburg, and I really wanted to spend my birthday in Hallstatt. Since I booked very late, there were limited options—many places were either fully booked or closed. This was the only accommodation available that offered a lake view with a balcony at a reasonable price. They also included free breakfast, which was absolutely delicious!

The hotel itself is quite old. With renovation, it could be one of the best places to stay because of its unbeatable view and excellent location. The bed and wooden floors creak, and most of the furnishings are outdated.

Absolutely nothing

We booked an extremely expensive room in one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe, Hallstatt, with very high expectations regarding comfort and facilities. Unfortunately, the experience was completely unacceptable.The room was freezing cold. In a place where it was snowing outside, the bathroom had no heating at all and was literally ice-cold. Because of this, we were forced not to bathe our two babies, out of fear that they would get sick. This is absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances.There was no refrigerator, no drinking water, and no basic amenities whatsoever. For the price we paid, there was simply nothing that justified the cost.The breakfast was a complete joke. Everything was stale, smelled bad, and was of extremely poor quality. The only thing our children could eat was a sealed yogurt, which was also of very low quality.Overall, this stay was unacceptable. Paying such a high amount of money for this level of service is insulting to the guest.I will be requesting a full refund, and if this issue is not resolved, I will take legal action.Extremely disappointed. I would strongly not recommend this property to anyone.

Wonderful Stay in a Historic HotelI had an excellent experience staying at this hotel, which is perfectly located in the heart of the city. Staying there felt special, as it beautifully combines historical charm with modern comfort.The staff were welcoming and thoughtful, offering free coffee and tea for all guests, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety and quality food to start the day.Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, history, and a great location.

the wooden floors and furniture is really old, everything squeaks and makes noisy sounds even with the smallest movement, i couldnt get a proper sleep because every movement makes the bed squeak and every step of the people in another rooms or in the corridor makes the floor squeak

staying in this gasthof took us back to centuries old past. the smell, the feels and most of all the that sounds you create while walking on its wooden floors and even sleeping on its wooden beds.

This unit retains the oldest wooden staircase and floor design, making it perfect for those who want to experience a vintage unit.

the floor makes some noise when you walk around, which may disturb others, especially around midnight. Additionally, the restrooms are located in a public area, which may be inconvenient for some people.

Very nice location and easy to get to and from with the free shuttle

The bed and floors are very squeaky to the point where if I turned in bed it woke everyone.

We loved the rooms, all in wood and the most wonderful bedsheets. The location is the best, 3min to the ferry and right in the center of town.We also loved the common room in the entrance and the possibility to make tea there.A wonderful stay and highly recommend it!

The room view was excellent.location is central and nearby to all the attractions.the staff was friendly and breakfast was good.the staff even let me to check in early.

Our room was number 9 and fabulous! We loved it.

The restaurant down stairs was never open while we were there. Plus during breakfast it was like we were playing hide and seek to find the dishes and glasses.
