- Nothing. This is not hotel, this is garbage with no staff on site
- I stayed here couple of times and it's ok. Centrally located in Pisek, it's a good choice for those who need a good spot in the city. The rooms could use some maintenance, but the place is ok for 1-2 nights.
- First off, I’m surprised at all of the low score reviews, we had a great stay! I can’t speak about others’ experiences, but ours was really way better than expected. The property itself is older with creaky parquet floors, though this is part of the charm! Staying in an older property means you accept the history that comes with it, if you don’t like that then go stay in something modern like a Hilton or Marriott. The price point is excellent for what you get in an older property, so again set your expectations appropriately. My wife and I spent 3 nights in Room 1 and it was amazing. The room was spacious, the bed was clean and comfortable, there was hot water in the shower and good pressure, the premises were quiet so we slept very well. Room 1 faces the main city square and has good ventilation and views. Also it is surprisingly quiet for a town square! The breakfast was good and the kitchen staff were also helpful.
Cons -
- No one to call, one day was no light, the other day no room cleaning. Towels as hard as concrete.
- We really have nothing negative to say about our stay. I would like to point out an observation about a guest that we witnessed during our stay. At breakfast a guest asked one of the kitchen staff for something and didn’t get a response, then rudely blew her off. If you’re a guest in a foreign country you should try to learn a few words so you aren’t a complete dismissive and entitled princess. Not everyone speaks English.
- We didn't have hot water during our stay in the hotel and could not find anybody in the reception. Prepare 100 euro deposit (which is written in the general conditions)

The hotel has good location, situated in the center of the city. The staff was friendly.

Not what we booked.
We booked 2 rooms at City Hotel, one Standard room with 2 separate beds and one a bit more pricy "Deluxe Double" for extra comfort. Upon arrival, we were brought to a different and a bit desolate hotel around the corner called Bilaruze (which we didn't book), and the 4 of us were given 1 (one) key for 1 (one) room with a shared bathroom. Despite having booked a double room with a view we had a view of a roof, which is not the end of the world, but the main issue we had was that the City Hotel overbooks its capacity on purpose and then brings people to a completely different hotel with less amenities. This is not what we booked and paid for and when we voiced our dissatisfaction the receptionist just shrugged with an unbothored "sorry" and did not offer any form of compensation not even the extra fee we paid for the "Deluxe" room. Definitely not the experience we hoped for. When we shared our experience with friends who also visited Pisek frequently we realized this is a modus operandi. They overbook and send unsuspecting guests to a different hotel. And additionally the door didn't close from the outside without a key so managing this situation for 4 people was unnecessarily annoying. The curtains didn't close or block out any sunlight either...
SHAMEFUL
Horrible treatment , staff wasn’t speaking in English the hotel is just an old house turned to hotel.Staff entered in my room without permission
Was warm.
Profile pictures are not of exterior of hotel. No reception. Dated. Old bedding. Breakfast bad.
The hotel was well situated and the breakfast was OK
I booked a delux room but there was no there was nothing delux about this room. The room was hot but there was no way to open a ceiling window to cool it down. The walls may have been painted but everything else about the room was decades old.At check in I asked for a receipt but I couldn't make them understand so she told me to write an email with what I needed. I did this but it took 3 weeks of myself followed by a Czech colleague pushing them before we received the receipt.
Great location. Nice bathroom. We loved the swallows nesting in the corridor.
Rather cramped room, uncomfortable bed. Some new furniture is needed.
We booked a room with two twin beds as advertised on booking website. The hotel receptionist told us, there is no any twin beds in the hotel and booking website is not updated so they have king beds only. They tried to solve the issue by providing extra sofa which wasn't comfort and didn't fit in right place inside the room in addition the fridge was so noisy and annoyed. At the end, I didn't sleep well in the room and I had to go outside and slept inside the car for couple of hours.
The only good thing about my stay at this hotel was its location - perfect for any exploration of the city
1) The receptionist was there only when I checked in, then I haven't seen ANYBODY from the hotel staff during my 3 days of stay there. When I wanted to check out and nobody was there, I gave keys from my room to a cleaning lady. Perhaps, I don't know. She was the only one I met in the hotel hallway.2) The room I stayed in (#10) was NOTHING like advertised on the website. Although it might have been big when looking at square meters, it was also crammed with office furniture to make it look like it's luxurious/practical.3) The bedroom had a very heavy air - as if it was flooded and didn't dry properly. 4) The walls and the doors are very thin, so if you have louder neighbors, you'll hear everything.5) The room wasn't cleaned properly for a long time - spider webs in the corners, dust on top of the futniture etc. Shower head holder is rusty and nobody cares.6) At the end of the hall where room #10 and #11 are, there's a bird's nest. A BIRD'S NEST. My first night I thought the bird noises came from the garden outside of my window, but when I closed my window, I could still hear the bird noises the same way. Then I realized it was the ones in the hotel hallway.7) Only one and almost transparent roll of a toliet paper. I had to buy my own in the nearest drug store.8) No soap for washing. Had to buy my own as well.If this was a hostel for backpackers and priced accordingly, it wouldn't be a problem for me. But for the price of a nice hotel in a city, this was an absolute disaster and I definitely won't be coming back.
Good location, good value for the money
Breakfast should be better
Central, good breakfast
Reception, Bar, Restaurant closed. Difficult to check in. TV no signal. Old building need tlc. Personal was not informed.
Beautiful location. They gave me better room deluxe, clean towels every day, beautiful fresh breakfast (fresh vegetables, fresh fruits), clean room, comftorbole beds. Amazing experience.
Location
The room was cold, we had only 3 towels for two persons, no sheets changed for 3 days, the breakfast was poor
They Get money for Room I never was able to check in...so I booked hotel room at 22:21AndWhen I arrived in hotel address was not possible to see single light in so called hotel...so I called them to speak with them on the phone and they informed me that it's impossible to check in because they have until 20:00So if it's their policySoWhy they put their rooms available on booking platforms...I am sure they are scamming peopleAndBooking platforms should never let them in OtherwiseThey also are responsible for scams made by not serious actor's like this so called hotel.
I can't believe that hotel is exist by this name...I showed up three times in their address and I could not see any people who work there
The location
We reserved the room late. When we arrived, desk was closed, but there was a phone number left. No one picked up. I called 40times. Since the room was prepaid and it was late, we really need that sleep after 10hours of drive. After 10calls one phone was turned off, the other one did not answer.
The only plus of the hotel is the location.
Hotel rather poor, room on the 3rd floor (no elevator). The roof windows were very hot, the room small dirty service poor to this day I am waiting for the invoice which I was to receive the next day price too high for this standard.
It is in the middle of town.
There were open Shampoo Bags in the Shower, which looked like the shower was not even cleaned.
Location central in Pisek close to the museum, bridge and restaurants
Do not believe the pictures of the room nor the breakfast! We were offered a tiny room on an the attic that they might offer to their staff but not to any guests. As we did not accept the room City Hotel we were offered a room in Billa Ruze instead so we at least had somewhere to stay for the night.....
