Hotel Alt Bamberg

Perfect location away from main streets. Quiet, with splendid views of Old Bamberg.

Bamberg has gotten touristy, and that means noisy carousers shouting down the streets late at night. Not something specific to this hotel, but unless the city enacts a noise ordnance, may be something to consider/prepare for during your stay.

Location downtown is great.Price likewise.Cafe with breakfast a five minute walk.Quiet.I go to Bamberg 3-4 times a year and I usually stay in two places and will continue to do so..This is one of the places.

Small room but expected for price.

The location is perfect and the building is cozy and historic vibe & it was possible for very early checking which is perfect after long trip

The wifi doesn't work at all and the sharp edges of some corners at the room very painful when hits & can't be avoided all the time

The hotel in itself is very charming and nice. Old building with a retro vibe. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. There were however a few things which made the stay less pleasant: the walls are extremely thin and one can hear everything going on in the neighbouring rooms. That being said, it's noone's fault that our neighbours were very loud, but the fact that the cleaning crew started vacuuming at 8 in the morning on a Sunday shows disinterest towards the guests' comfort. Other than that, our room had mold in the shower. All in all the facilities are good, the location is great just the staff could be more mindful.

the reception was close at time of arrival while we arrived before closing hours of the reception.traveling with 3 kids after hours of car travel that was disappointing.

The location is right in the middle of Bamberg, so the proximity to all the fun stuff was exceptional. The room was cozy. The staff friendly and speaks perfect English. Definitely coming back in the future

Just ten minutes from the TI and many other main tourist sites. Carl parking in the city garage at TI area. Plenty of restaurants and bakeries within easy walking.

Location cannot be beaten. The bed and linens were nice and comfortable. Room was small but adequate for what you want to do here which is get out and explore the city itself.

Not that I needed it, there is no reception over the weekend. Friday, Saturday. There is no housekeeping to freshen the room either. Shower was extremely small and the shower head was a almost impossible to use.

Wonderful location with all of old town walkable.

WiFI hotspot with narrow band width, hard to access; insecure

Located in the old part of town in one of the old buildings. The night was warm so we're glad that a pedestal fan was provided. We parked our car in the secure underground carpark next to the tourist information Centre, a 3 min walk from the accommodation. Once we read the email properly it was a straightforward processes to use the key safe to get the key to our room.

Location

No breakfast. When I arrived at 10pm, staff were exiting and one person, eager to exit, almost locked me in the hotel without a key that I had to retrieve from outside!Nothing except a bed and bathroom. The drinks machine was a robotic friend in the desert.

Stay away

Everything. Dark and so hot, tiny room, unfortunately had booked 2 nights. Room wasn’t serviced and no staff around to ask for clean towels. Really noisy for such an old building, heard toilets/showers of adjoining rooms as if they were in our room.
