Great property that is centrally located! The breakfast was amazing and the views from the top of the hotel over the lake and the mountains were excellent. Definitely will stay here again!
Room was a little oddly decorated, and I could’ve used some more pillow pillows on the bed.
Central location to major attractions in downtown, breakfast was amazing, easy parking access, surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops. Staff are extremely polite and friendly attitude. The view and mountains give great opportunity to relax and enjoy the day.
Every thing was amazing
The location was perfect right next to the lake and have view of the docks from the hotel room
The room was very dusty, the floors were dirty and the bed was uncomfortable. My lipgloss fell under the bed, when I tried to reach for it, it was terribly dirty and dusty
The location of this hotel affords great views over Lake Garda, Piazza Garibaldi and the rooftops of the town. We found the double-glazed windows very effective at dulling any noise from below. Our king bed was very comfortable and we appreciated being able to have two pillows each. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The lounge area downstairs was very attractively appointed.A highlight for us was the infinity pool. It was a novel place to take a photo with the lake in the background.Overall we were very happy.
The quality of the breakfast offerings could be improved. The stainless steel entry to the pool is quite slippery so you have to be careful getting in and out of it as there are no handrails. Slick appearance but not quite practical.
Central location in town. Close to stores, restaurants and Lake Garda. Helpful staff
Nothing really to dislike
very friendly staff, quiet room, we slept very well
the room looked shabby, tapestry coming off the wall, weird ceiling in the bathroom, not at all 4 star
Welcoming staff, the location is in the heart of the city, close to everything.
The pool was closed 19:00, breakfast could be better.
LOVED everything. Have been to Italy many times, never to Lake Garda. So glad we picked Grand Hotel. Easy relaxing walk to the beaches, loved being right at the main square. Fabulous breakfast, all around wonderful!!
no complaints!
Great location—just a stone’s throw from Riva’s port where the boat arrives. We were also leaving by bus to Rovereto, and the station was less than 300 meters away. The hotel makes a strong first impression with its grand exterior and stylish lobby. The highlight was the stunning view from the 5th floor, where breakfast is served and a small metal pool offers a refreshing dip with a view.
Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The room, labeled as a suite, felt outdated—and what bothered me most was the strong smell of smoke, indicating it was likely a smoker’s room, though the staff didn’t acknowledge it. The bathroom was extremely basic (even missing a bidet, which is a first for me in Italy), though at least it was clean. The pool on the 5th floor did offer beautiful views, but it was small and the metal steps were dangerously slippery—I slipped during entry and narrowly avoided serious injury. Overall, the hotel felt a bit rundown and definitely did not live up to its 4-star rating in my opinion, which is a shame considering the location and potential.
Location was excellent, views from the room and the rooftop were stunning. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
There was a problem with the air conditioning in our room and it was unbearably warm the first night. The hotel provided a fan which was a great help but only to make it more bearable. It was fixed and by the third day the room was much better but disappointing that we had to endure the heat intially.
The beds were very comfortable and the view of the lake was AMAZING! Breakfast had good variety and was delicious. The location was perfect for walking around Riva and getting to the bus stop, ferry and grocery store quickly. Easy walk to the beach area (don't forget to bring water shoes b/c its rocky).
The AC stopped working the evening of our last night. No one was on staff after 8 to assist. It got warm in our room.
Location and the beautiful view from the breakfast room and the rooftop pool area
The breakfast was okay for Italian standards
Wellness, Spa and location is good, workers are friendly
Cleaning woman before checkout knocked multiple times on door if she can clean, like she cant wait 30min. room is not cleaned properly, wallpaper is falling down, ceiling is taped down (All pictures attached). Parking is very tight and the entrance is not very suited for sportcars as the approach is very steep, parking space by itself is good, enough room
The location was great and the pool was amazing. Great to have a properly heated outdoor pool.
The breakfast was not good for vegans. Too many sugar heavy options. Having to book the spa.
location is great, near the lake and righ amongst the old town. breakfast was spectacular with great views of the lake and a decent selection of food. The room was good, decor a little tired, and shower presure low, but otherwise perfectly good.
Excellent location and perfect rooftop heated pool with excellent view. It qas not very practical with getting to and from the rooftop pool. Poor information about slippers and barhrobe for spa and pool. Spa poorly marked but otherwise very nice! Would have appreciated proper coffee! The machine coffee is not good.
hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly
very noisy anything someone used their bathroom you can hear it stomping round from the other guests, reception wasn't very helpful with restaurants and places to go kept saying its out of season so lots closed . was told breakfast was t 7 but clearly other guests were told earlier not much choice
