Garda Sporting Club Hotel

Walking distance to the city center/ Lake Garda.Very sumptuous and yet healthy breakfast. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful when providing info on the places of interest around the city and areas around it. Very well equipped with sports facilities!

Two weeks in Italy, 5 hotels and this was the only hotel without proper AC.The last two days od our stay the temperature in our room reached 30 degrees celcius.We asked the recepetion for help but they could not help during the day . It started working a bit at night when the temperature was a bit down. The second day it didnt work at all.The AC is not a proper AC its just a very gentle brezze and its managed by the hotel stuff. You cannot really choose the temperature in your room.The fitness room also has no AC.The last remark is about free water in the room.I know that hotels are not obliged to offer that service but I don't remember staying at 4* hotel that did not offer a free bottle of water.Small things but can make difference.

Location.

Don’t book this hotel. There are multiple issues with this hotel. You can hear every footstep of the guest above you, there is a gap even if the terras door is closed (see picture). Also, the neighbors can see your bed if the curtains are not kept completely closed. Several facilities of the wellness did not work. There was a power outage during our stay and the shampoo of the shower was not restocked. There are also construction works which wasn’t communicated. This is downright bad.Breakfast is not very special, and very basic. They also charge a fixed fee for charging, no matter how many KwH you will charge.

Great stay if you are looking for an opportunity to spend a week or two working on your fitness. The open water pool is good, there are many calm roads and bike roads around for a bike workout. The hotel gym has the facilities for a good workout and even a HIIT zone. Lots of protein options for breakfast.

The room facilities were a bit outdated and worn. But it didn't spoil our impressions.

Friendly staff, breakfast had plentiful choices with nice hot station (eggs, pancakes, waffles), nice and quiet location even though near roads, kids can use two of the three pools (outdoor pool with slide is unheated but great on a hot day, and indoor heated pool is fantastic when weather is a little less hot), tennis courts, bike hire, only a ten / fifteen minute walk into Riva, free car parking available. Riva itself is a great little town.

Dinner isn't really suitable with small children as quite expensive / 3 course is only option (also need to book in advance) but it's fine because Riva restaurants are only a nice stroll minute walk / 5 minute bike ride away

Sports options, including the 3 pools, gym & cycle hire. Lovely breakfast options.

Rusty nail on squash court & tired flooring that injured my stepson & no First Aid available at Reception apart from a plaster & antiseptic cream. Despite 3 in our room we were only provided 2 deckchairs/ dressing gowns etc.

The staff were very helpful and the pools, squash and tennis courts fantastic. The Spa was first class as well. Cheap hire of bikes helped us to easily get to the sailing and windsurfing hire.

Breakfast was good, a lot of choices, a lot of activities in the hotel (indoor and outdoor pool, saunas, fitness, pingpong...). The staff was accommodating and really nice.

The AC in one of the rooms was set to really cold and since the AC unit doesn't have controls in the room we needed to fix the problem with the reception and the only thing they could do was to shut the hatch.

Location is great, free parking and bike storage as well, 25m pool lenght god for swimming. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Breakfast is poor.Beside front desk all other members of stuff don't speak Ebglish.

Good breakfast. Nice room with a view. Good gym, tennis court, swimming pool.

The car charger is super slow for an electric car. My Tesla was pulling only 3KW.

Great location and a perfect place to start expolring Riva and all it’s surroundings. The rooms are nice and clean and the breakfast is great. The staff is nice too. There is a full size gym in the basement which also include a squash court! The perfect place to stay for an active vacation.

The staff are really great, they were friendly and helpful and made an effort for us. The hotel is really well set up to deal with families - plenty to keep the kids busy, and easy to keep an eye on them! We had some wonderful tennis coaching, organised by the hotel, and we enjoyed many hours lounging by the beautiful pools!The breakfast was excellent, with lots of healthy options available.

You'd have to push me to say that there were any shortcomings, but the rooms were a little tired, and the balcony furniture was a bit awkward to use.
