Pros +
- Hotel Villa Tivoli is an exceptionally nice property in a very peaceful location - with a nice view over the orchards - just outside the center of Meran. The hotel is made special by it's owners - the Defranceschi-Steiner family - who actively manage the hotel and participate in the daily operations - at the reception, in the restaurant, etc. The breakfast is superb, with an unusually large choice of breads, cheeses, vegetables, porridges, spreads, jams, etc. to choose from. The restaurant (for dinners) has a wide range of delicious fares to choose from. The two pools - one on the side of the mountain in the level of the 5th floor with a spectacular view, and another in the ground floor - are a delight, as well as the spacious and well-kept rooms. There are several nice walks/hiking paths available right from the hotel or from nearby, including also the famous Tappeinerweg. We will definitely go stay at Villa Tivoli again when next time in Meran.
- Villa Tivoli is a family business with caring attention to detail and comfort. The hospitality is very welcoming striking a perfect balance between etiquette and privacy. The hotel surrounds are beautiful with varying flowers and plantings. The pool has a lovely view and there are scattered niches for loungers and umbrellas. The rooms have lots of towels which is so nice because of the pool. Housekeeping was perfect. The breakfast is just wonderful with so many varying items from which to choose. The service for both dinner and breakfast is top notch making either a morning or an evening very relaxing. The menu offerings are delicious. I really appreciated being able to have my lunches out when I was exploring Merano, and then return in the evening for an exceptional dinner. Villa Tivoli is a jewel.
- The major asset of this hotel must be the family running it. Always present, always helpful, know the area whatever it is you are coming to visit for. Quiet location overlooking apple orchards and Meran; all you hear are the 100’s of birds. Great outdoor pool.Hotel has an excellent restaurant; breakfast selection is impressive, with many local cheeses and fresh baked bread and cake.

- IF you are heat sensitive you may find the lack of air conditioning in the room a drawback. There are effective window coverings to minimize the summer heat. In the evenings I slept with the windows open---- still very private, and I appreciated the soft night air. The scent of the jasmine plantings is dreamy.
- Could not fault it

Amazing Hotel with beautiful views the staff were helpful the food in the restaurant what’s the best we had during our holiday. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.
We didn’t want to leave!
Quiet location, lovely views, excellent range of breakfast items, very delicious dinners available at their restaurant. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Nice big rooms, with lovely showers. Nice indoor pool and plenty of space to relax and unwind. Close enough to the centre while still feeling wonderfully isolated. Closest I have ever come to stealing a pillow!
Without a doubt the most exquisite and amazing breakfast buffet !Incredible fruits, freshly baked cakes, wonderful breads.
Too short stay
Everything! This is a really special place. It’s family-run, and the care that goes into making guests feel welcome is spectacular. The staff were lovely, the room was huge, with wonderful views. The breakfast was the best I think I’ve ever had - so many homemade cakes and fruit compotes! We will be back.
Nothing!
Everything, particularly the family running the business: You feel immediately that they love what they are doing. That sets the spirit in this hotel. I could continue praising the food etc, but leave it with the remark that the location of the hotel at the foot of one of the mountains around Meran is also very beautiful.
I would not know what to write ...
The people at Villa Tivoli are outstanding! Very nice and always helpful. They serve a great breakfast including my wife's new favorite the "Gugelhupf" which we had on the shaded outside terrase overlooking Meran.
During our visit the temperatures were very hot and AC would have been great but we let with open windows which worked as well.
The Terrasse & its view and the staff/owners and its cleanliness.
The bed had a rather hard mattress and the interior had seen better times but the Terrasse and the super friendly staff made up for it.
Fantastic service from hello to goodbye.Really nice surroundings, great food and splendid breakfast!
Very friendly family hotel. Great location, wellness, breakfast, i can fully recommend.
Non
The breakfast was excellent: quantities of fruit, cheeses, local specialties etc. Best of all: the outdoor pool with very clean and pleasantly warm water, set in a pretty garden setting with a view of the mountains. Really an exceptional, first class hotel. Very friendly staff. Many art books at the guests' disposal!!! The library! Original art - sculptures by W. Senonner. Beautiful!!!
Hardly anything: just we would have appreciated two reading lamps by the bed.
Staff and service excellent. It is run as a family establishment. Perfecto!
The weather. Way too hot and no A/C but able to sleep
Friendly staff, excellent food, beautiful spot
We were given the upgraded room which is facing the apple plantation. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Rodolfo (not sure I have the correct spelling) is very welcoming and an excellent host. The restaurant chef (not sure his name) knew what we wanted and so we had our dinner at the restaurant on both nights. The property is also close to the Merano town.
Very much loved the flair of the villa, beautiful surroundings. Impressive breakfast buffet. Very nice and warm staff. All in all very enjoyable stay :)
Very friendly staff.
The building and the common areas are nice, the room we were in was extremely basic with even some of the essentials like a nightstand missing. No decor, just white walls. Felt very sanitized and low budget. You don’t get what you paid for.
The location is superb. Great views & restful atmosphere. Superb outdoor infinity styled pool just what one needs after negotiating Verona's autoroute interchange with a peage in the middle! Family run with attention to every guest's needs. Breakfast can only be described as lavish for the wide offering & the ability to request as one guest did an omelette. Dinner was a treat from a grilled octopus entree to grilled veal.
After the relaxing swim a shower & shave to recover from the Verona Interchange & incessant roadworks, I had left Cannes at 06:00, a bloody mary was beyond the barman's skill set regrettably
breakfast, room, facilities, really everything was perfect, the staff was very helpfull, nice balcony and also nice terrace for breakfast and an evening cocktail.
there is no airco or ventilator in the rooms. so with warm weather its quite hot inside.
