    Pros +

    • Charming hotel with a friendly staff who made our stay quite pleasant.. Please note they are not staffed 24 hrs so be sure to make prior arrangements when checking in late.
    • Location had fantastic views and is right next to nature
    • Incredible location and wonderful staff!

    Cons -

    • Would have liked a tea/coffee making and mini fridge in room.
    • No air conditioning and the patio was under construction and we could not enjoy breakfast outdoors. I booked it because of the amazing images of dinning in the patio and yet, not outdoor access to the views!
    • The only downside is also makes it special… it’s a bit away from the city center. But we were fine staying up on the hill

The property is a gem! Historical but kept up extremely well! Kids lived all the animals and play area.

The only downside is also makes it special… it’s a bit away from the city center. But we were fine staying up on the hill

2nd time here and hotel has improved the outside facilities regarding restaurant etc. Wonderful views of the mountains.

I think they can improve the parking facilities as it's gravel with stone chips that might make dings on cars.

    10ErikPosted on: 7-6-2025

The property was beautiful, our kids enjoyed all the animals, the restaurant is top notch with great service

It was amazing! Staff very helpful, yummy breakfast, stunning views, fabulous and large room, comfy beds and an awesome sauna. We did not want to leave.

We get up early and would have loved a cup of coffee before 7 ish.

    view and breakfast

no elevator and heater did not work very well to cause the room was a little be cold.

A unique, historic building. A nice balcony with a stunning view. Steep walk down to the bus stop or a fast 10 minute downhill walk to town. Only 8 euros back in a taxi. Breakfast was good - eggs available to order.

Very limited vegetarian options for dinner.

    9MarijePosted on: 7-20-2024

The view is fantastic and the building clearly has a lot of history, it’s beautiful to be a guest in this mansion. It’s like you’re visiting another era - with the amenities of the modern world.

It would have been lovely if breakfast was set up outside on a beautiful day.

    10HarryPosted on: 7-18-2024

Unique location and beautiful rooms with enough space for the family.

The family room is directly under the roof and gets a little warm, there is no air conditioning. Opening the windows helped however.

    10MichaelPosted on: 7-17-2024

The Birchermüsli was excellent, the coffee as well. But the location really is just fantastic, certainly much much nicer than being in the silly touristy town center. My room 51 with its terrace was just perfect.

    7PeterPosted on: 7-14-2024

Nice location overlooking the town. Room was sizeable and well-maintained. Breakfast was great with a nice personal touch.

    10NickyPosted on: 6-30-2024

Everything. The hotel is very charming, the room was huge and very comfortable with a great shower which was much needed after a long motorcycle ride from Lienz. The staff were very friendly and the onsite restaurant serves great food and quality drinks. The view from the restaurant was particularly beautiful.

    7BoxstercruisePosted on: 6-16-2024

The dinner was fine, Sofie who handled the breakfast was very nice and professional.

No major complaints, but I guess I had bigger expectations.

    10MichaelPosted on: 5-10-2024

It’s a lovely old building with modern facilities including a sauna. The staff were all lovely and the attention to detail second to none. The rooms were comfy and the food was delicious. Amazing views and a great location.

Very friendly, it has all u need, clean, great view, nice orangerie next to your room

It was not so warm while the beating was at max.

    9AntoniaPosted on: 1-25-2024

This guest house is a treasure. The wood paneled stube in the dinning room and the plentiful antiques were rare and impressive. The view overlooking Lienz brought beauty to each window each day.

    10TtdqqPosted on: 11-5-2023

Wonderful stay in Lienz.Modern equiped rooms in old buildings. My husband and I stay there for only one night, but the hotel is far beyond our expectations. The scence from the rooms was stunning.

    10RichardPosted on: 10-5-2023

Large, clean, and comfortable room. Very nice staff. Good restaurant. Great views from the property. Quiet location, but not far to the city center.

A bit isolated for walking purposes. But with the onsite restaurant, this was not a problem for us.
