"La Conchiglia d' Oro" HOTEL & SPA

Hotel was comfortable with large bedroom and bathroom. Nice breakfast buffet. A market, bar, and restaurant are attached. We had a wonderful seafood dinner at the restaurant. A 20 minute walk gets you into the city center. Pool, sauna, and outdoor lounges were not available during winter months.

The breakfast was great. Staff was amazing. Our room attendant was so kind and accommodating. Front staff was eager to help with travel issues we had that were irrelevant to their purpose. They all went out of their way to help us. The grocery store adjoining the hotel is wonderful, too!!!

Room a bit basic but no complaints!

The staff (Dennis, Rosana and Arun) is EXCEPTIONAL except for the "director" in the restaurant below, which is actually a different family-owned business. After staying here, 4 nights perfectly, we encountered the restaurant director on our "way-out lunch" who totally ruined a 10-star rating. Needless to say, we decided to skip lunch at the restaurant and eat elsewhere - the food was amazing on previous occasions. But the stuffy - director - not worth our time or money.

The pool is smaller than it appears. The fitness center is perfect, spa is good - everything you will need.

The staff were phenomenal! They were friendly, courteous, and helpful. The breakfast was amazing, and my teen quickly became addicted to the scrambled eggs. We would definitely stay there again.

It was easy to take the bus to the historical center. Otherwise it's about a 15 walk.we liked it all. The restaurant is in incredible!

Room was comfortable, staff was accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The location was central enough to where we wanted to go. The restaurant was good, but the smells from it were overwhelming. The whole hotel smelled like fish cooking. The lobby smelled like fish, the elevator smelled like fish, the hallways smelled like fish. Outside the hotel smelled like fish. The only saving grace was that our room did not smell like cooking fish.

Good location to visit the historical renaissance style downtown of Vicenza. Park your car there gorcfree and take the bus no 10 which will take you there to enjoy the city of Palladio

Not sure how this has achieved a 4 star rating. It’s a large, impersonal block above a restaurant and a deli, which accounts for some of the ripe odours mentioned in other reviews. Rooms are clean but decor and fittings are dated, corridor carpets needed cleaning etc. Car park appears to have a semi-commercial use as well and it fronts onto a busy road. Breakfast was poor by the standards of other hotels we’ve stayed at.

Bed were really dirty, room 104 is quite old…When we checked in went to the room and it was not ready, had to change to another…Food in restaurant, we took it by menu, was EXTREMELY solty…

At times the parking was challenging

The staff at the hotel was most helpful I've seen.The location was good. The little touches made all the difference.free access to the spa room.breakfast included and 5* service from the hotel staff. Also a very well stocked shop on the ground floor,free parking and the restaurant was top of the range,very luxurious,very attentive staff,big portions of food and very affordable.

Rooms were a bit dated but warm and had all the essentials needed included free bottles of water

The room was large. The location was close to Vicenza city. Breakfast was included and there was a nice sized spa

The room was in terrible condition. There was mold on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom which had absolutely no ventilation. The price for value was terrifyingly bad. There was no A/C in the hallways so you had to wear a jacket in the winter. The breakfast meats seemed like they were a day old and the "fresh ordered" eggs tasted like they had a quadruple portion of salt. Two of the people that stayed got sick after eating the breakfast. The hallways also smelled like fish because of the seafood restaurant next door. The bed and furniture was ripped and discolored in a few places.

The value was too much for the hotel, rooms are extremely smaller than previous times I’ve stayed before, very basic motel room not a 4* hotel room. Water on the shower was weak and sometimes no water in the shower.

The area is pretty deserted, there's nothing, it's a 20 minute walk to the city center. They charge 15 euros per day for the dog, which is much higher than elsewhere. Room is very small, not enough space for clothes. The bed was too soft for us.
