    Pros +

    • The front desk staff were kind and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Enjoyed the sauna and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Great location, steps away from the kaiser villa.
    • I liked everything. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good. They were very kind to international travelers from all over the world.
    • The room is unique with many windows and with a nice view. However, the bathroom is not entirely closed, so we made do with it by using a towel as a screen. Kaiservilla is just a short walk away. The breakfast was very good.

    Cons -

    • My friend and I don’t speak German and that definitely made it a more terse, awkward stay. Our bad. We’ve travelled in other parts of the Austrian alps and met friendly people willing to speak French or English but others staying in the hotel and the breakfast staff/ some of the wait staff were not that friendly or didn’t greet us as they greeted German speakers. One of the women who worked at the restaurant was more friendly, as well as the front desk. Just something to think about if your German is not great, but still enjoyed our stay overall, might have just stayed a night or two less.
    • Pool is slightly cold, but gorgeous! Completely worth the cold plunge.
    • Open bathroom. The layout of the premises is also complicated. We got lost. There're random short flights of stairs here and there which make lugging a large luggage a bit of a hassle since there's no ramp.

Nice room, good location - loved the breakfast

Indoor pool was a bit cold (admittedly very minor nick pick)

Great location, just in front of Kaiservilla, opposite the supermarket and a bus station. Sauna and pool. Spacious and lovely decorated room.

    8WilliamPosted on: 10-16-2024

Location is very convenient for the town centre and for the station. It was quiet - got a good night's sleep - and had an attractive view from my room, being close to the entrance to the park of the Kaiser Villa. Room was spacious and well laid out. Breakfast was particularly good. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly when it came to working out which train services were running following serious disruption caused by prolonged heavy rain.

    8ZhihaoPosted on: 9-14-2024

The location is great, with a bus stop nearby where you can take routes 150, 541, and 546. There are also restaurants and a SPAR supermarket. The room is spacious, equipped with a floor-standing air conditioner and a small refrigerator.

The internet speed is a bit slow, which does not match the status of a 4-star hotel. Since they have the financial resources to build such nice rooms, why is the Wi-Fi so slow?

    - Great location, right in the middle of town, so it's easy to reach everywhere by foot, including the central train and bus station, which is about 10 mins away. - There are several restaurants and shops nearby, including a supermarket.- Clean, comfortable and quiet room.- I ordered a single room, but received what was clearly a double room, which was a nice surprise.- Nice internal design for the room and it also smelled great!- Breakfast is included.- Slippers were provided, which was a nice touch.- Friendly woman at reception when I checked in.- I would stay again.

    - The hotel is like a maze! In order to reach my room, I had to take the elevator up, but then needed to go a couple of stairs down and then climb up 20 or so stairs. I didn't understand at first why the receptionist insisted on taking me to my room when I first checked in, but I wouldn't have been able to find my room on my own...- Nowhere to open your suitcase other than the floor, which is uncomfortable. There was supposedly space for a suitcase in the closet, but it was odd-shaped and could only fit a closed carry-on size suitcase. A luggage rack would be a great addition.- The safe was an old mechanic model that was hard to operate, especially since it was located at floor level inside the closet.- No coffee machine or even a kettle in the room.

The hotel is next door to the Kaiser Villa and Park and well positioned for exploring the town of Bad Ischl. It's also only about 5 mins walk from the train/bus station.Nice hotel overall with friendly staff.Nice room, the bathroom seemed particularly modern.

Regarding the room, the room itself seemed a little dated in comparison to the more modern bathroom but this is a minor quibble and wouldn't stop me considering using this hotel again.

There is a swimming pool, overall it's good

Only one fan provided, no air conditioning, very hot

    Nice location and breakfast

    No AC

    7AnnaPosted on: 8-6-2024

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very nice

Our room on the third floor was very hot and even with a fan impossible to cool down. A bit pricey for what we got.

    9MarkusPosted on: 7-23-2024

    - Hotel location is perfect, only a walk to the old center, 1 minute to the swimming pool- hotel room is very nice equiped, big and we have had a very good view from the room- breakfast was very good- enough parking spaces at the Hotel

    - nothing to add

    4AmandaPosted on: 7-5-2024

Hotel was very average but appreciated our daily room clean.

Our room was like a cave. We had the smallest balcony you can imagine and no other windows. It was incredible stuffy and dark. We were very disappointed as we had booked in for a full week. The pool was too small to swim in, not worth bothering with. very small bathroom. Highly over rated and certainly not value for money.

    9JanetPosted on: 6-5-2024

Service was excellent! Food was fabulous, breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff was trained.....location was superb, right in the center. Professional staff, warm service oriented, polite & warm.

The safe in my room was not working & was not fixed, so I left my passports with reception.

    8JillPosted on: 5-12-2024

Good location. Close to bus station and Kaiservilla and park. Lovely, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.

No elevator to third floor room. Confusing layout, but only bec original owner built the hotel on his own in three different stages.

    1YinPosted on: 3-15-2024

The heater was on ice in the middle of the night, so cold that I couldn't sleep. The water in the spa is also very cold, making it almost impossible to get in.

    9StephaniePosted on: 3-12-2024

The room was beautiful. Nicely decorated, lovely view. To wake up to a view of the mountains like that was spectacular. And the location right next to the palace and the town was really perfect. I also liked the pool and sauna facilities. Very friendly staff.

I wish the pool was just a little warmer.
